Our experience on Elba and Sardinia is that the regulations are not uniformly enforced.  At Napoleon's villa on Elba they wanted to see our Covid certificates, but after about 2/3 of our tour group had shown them the guard turned his back and went into the office – "If it's right so far..."

In the ports, they are very insistent that we leave in organized groups, but we were turned loose at the end of a walking tour and had no trouble getting back on the boat individually.  So the "... on your own" tours could easily work:  you leave the port as a group and return to the port as a group; since there are no restrictions on land tourists, when you wander around the city on your own nothing looks wrong.

Just received word that our “on your own” Florence excursion from Livorno is cancelled - nov 21 Journey.   Azamara said they will try to organize a “guided” tour- “on your own” tour a no go!

When we passed through Germany on our way to Greece we were told our 2nd vaccination could be no older than six months.   There are loads of immunocompromised individuals on the cruise critic board and they have received their boosters.

Who told you 2nd vaccination could be no older than 6 months? We are flying from US to Greece via Frankfort connection and can not find anything about 6 months. Would you please point us to that regulation?

Looks like they have tidied up the wording on the Italy protocols which hopefully removes some of the confusion re tests

The reference to early entry has been removed

We are on a cruise embarking in Greece (Nov 6 Journey) that first stops in Italy on day 12. I am assuming that Azamara will give us the appropriate 72 hr test onboard and that we can fill in PLF while onboard.  I am planning on doing what is required to get to Greece and board the ship and then let Azamara guide us through the rest. Is there a flaw in that plan?

Just done a ‘Find a Voyage’ search on the Azamara UK site and there is no 6 November sailing available.

Yes, like I said, the Nov 6 sailing on Pursuit has been removed for new bookings for a week or two. But all current bookings are still active and when we call Azamara we are told it is sailing. The chance of that is about zero. They are not going to sail the Pursuit for one cruise in 2021.

After the Nov 21 was pulled from new bookings, it was moved to the Journey and then reopened for new bookings. I had hoped the same would happen for Nov 6 - but no news at all yet!  Our itinerary could be the issue with Egypt, Israel, and Turkey.  The Oct 13 Journey just had their Turkey port pulled.

Is that not cancelled as Azamara said Pursuit was not coming back into service this year or do I have that wrong

All of us on Nov 6 are still waiting to see what happens. No word from Azamara yet !

When Azamara announced many cancellations on July 1 - it did not cancel Pursuit Nov 6 and Nov 21and said they were still sailing!  Well, both Pursuit cruises have been pulled from new booking. The Nov 21 Pursuit was moved to the Journey with a minor itinerary change and is now available for new bookings on the Journey.

As of now - no changes or news regarding Nov 6 sailing. Current bookings are still active and shore excursions are still bookable as of today.  There does not seem any way the sailing can go forth on the Pursuit, but they have neither cancelled our Nov 6 booking nor moved it to Journey- no info whatsoever yet. We really need to know in order to book flights/hotels. It is only 3 months away.  I think our itinerary is causing a difficult situation, especially with US now required to quarantine if travelling to Israel.

The situation(s) in May 2022 could be very different than the situation(s) right now. I know that makes planning difficult.

Is there anything in local media saying when cruise ships will be permitted to dock-especially interested if only ship tours permitted or private tours to be permitted. Is seems Israeli ports are being eliminated for near upcoming cruises.

I'm looking at the March 20, 2022 "Egypt and Israel" Athens to Athens  and the April 9 "Adriatic and Aegean" Venice to Istanbul on the Journey.  I don't see anything in between.  How does the ship get from Athens to Venice?

    Could it be a charter?
I find the huge gap from Oct 13 to Nov 30 more troubling and those are closer in time. I hope they will give answers soon.

Journey's new itineraries are available on the website.

Looks likecurrently a big gap between Oct 13 and Nov 30 sailings. Our Pursuit Nov 6 and Nov21 have disappeared- could they be moving them over to Journey to fill gap?

I thought I remembered a charter on Oct 27- who knows if that is still on. Someone reported a 4 day Aegean Sampler  on Journey Nov 2 appeared in there account, but they never booked it and it was not listed as a bookable. Changes are happening- maybe they will tell us in an announcement sometime.

Mine has been replaced by a 4 day cruise that is not listed anywhere as a real itinerary

That is so strange- what is the itinerary for 4 days? Does it end in Athens?  If it is for Journey  Nov 2 , then next cruise up would be Nov 6.

I am wondering if the Nov 6 and Nov 21 on Pursuit( only 2 sailings on Pursuit not cancelled for 2021) would be moved to Journey. Even in latest email today from CEO only talked about new Med and Caribbean cruises on Quest and Journey -no mention of any new sailings on Pursuit.

Just trying to figure out why they keep saying our Pursuit November 6 and Nov 21 are a “go” but no new sailings are ever mentioned for Pursuit.

We were told that new itineraries for Quest and Journey would be bookable by end of month- so maybe the “mystery” of this 4 day Aegean cruise will then  be revealed as real or bogus.

This is what was sent with the last round of cancellations. No mention of Pursuit.

We're excited to resume sailing again starting with Azamara Quest in Greece as planned starting August 28th, 2021. Shortly after Azamara Quest completes her Mediterranean season, she will head to the Caribbean as scheduled for three back-to-back Caribbean sailings, followed by a new selection of 2022 Caribbean sailings. The Azamara Journey will begin her Mediterranean season on October 13, 2021, as expected and will remain there through the Winter with a new selection of sailings to the Canary Islands, Greece and more. We are still finalizing these new itineraries, but we expect them to be available for sale in late July.

Yes, I had seen that on Azamara website - which is why I asked a if maybe the FB post for travel partners  to which Riocca referred had some clue about what is happening with Pursuit. The Nov 6 and Nov 21 Pursuit have not been cancelled- yet!
I saw that Journey and Quest have been “turned” in Glasgow for maintainance and recertification of lifeboats before leaving Glasgow- no mention of Pursuit.

I’ve just seen on a Facebook post that Journey’s Canaries itineraries will be announced to Travel partners on Thursday afternoon. So hopefully they should be released quite soon after, hopefully might feature New Year’s Eve in Madeira for the fireworks - might even be tempted if the price is right.

Was there any mention of new itineraries for Pursuit being announced?

Just a shot in the dark here but guessing that your cruise may be changed from Pursuit to Journey.  Looking at the schedule, Journey ends in Athens on Oct. 25 and has nothing scheduled through November.  It would make sense for them to use Journey since she's staying in that region for the winter season.

Wow- a most brilliant idea! Following the Oct 25 charter,  that would be wonderful to use the currently uncancelled Nov 6 and Nov 21 to get to Lisbon for the Canary Island cruises mentioned in the announcement. They say the new cruises will be available for booking in a few weeks, so we would know by then!

I think that too. The one after it on the 21st November is also showing and categories are wide open. Website error.

    Phil

I have the Nov 6 and Nov 21 booked B2B- so really frustrated trying to make sense. When I talked to loyalty dept, they feared it was an oversight. They put me on hold and checked. They said that was correct that both Nov 6 and 21 are a go.  This makes no sense to me. It happens that at the time of the announcement that Final payment was not yet, but was due on previous cruises. When my TA requested a final payment extension, she was denied. Could it be that theses cruises will join the cancelled list after final payment date?
I have no problem with cancellation if itinerary is deemed problematic- it includes Israel, Egypt, and Turkey. Why the Oct 27 with Israel itinerary was deemed an issue and cancelled, but Nov 6 was not is a mystery to me.

This is another example of why I miss CBO Bonnie- I think she could get to the bottom of this!

The initial Pursuit sailings in September and October included a charter, and then ports in Turkey and Israel. Due to Covid the ship could not go to South Africa in late 2021 or early 2022. Perhaps it was easier for Azamara just to cancel all these cruises.

The information I received directly from Azamara clearly indicates that the two cruises in November on 6 and 21 are sailing.

The nov 6 goes to Israel and Turkey as well, so why is it not cancelled? It makes no sense to start up a ship out of cold storage for two sailings!  The press release only mentions new itineraries are forthcoming for Quest and Journey- no mention of new itineraries for Pursuit. Anyone have any logical explanation?

  15. 15 minutes ago, Riocca said:

I fully understand the need for the changes but don’t understand why Pursuit being in South Africa is not possible in December but ok in January. Are we to expect more changes in the near future?

Surely there will be more changes-cancellations or new itineraries?- we are booked on B2B Pursuit Nov 6 and Nov 21-  with all Pursuit cruises before and after in 2021 cancelled. I do not see how they can just sail those two cruises.

    COVID testing began today.

The Captain just made an announcement that two people from the same cabin have tested positive for COVID.

    Contact tracing has begun.

We are still able to move freely on the ship.

What type of test was given- antigen? If so, will they now be given PCR to see if false positive?  Thank you for letting us know what protocols are followed.

About how long did your refund take?

I submitted the original request on April 7 and received conditional approval email the next day. The money was showing in my credit card today April  30.  They had originally said to allow 90 days from submission request to get funds back on credit card.

I also see this change, hopefully we get an update email soon

Do not wait for an update email. I logged into my credit card this morning and my refund was there!  No follow up email has come from NCL yet.  My credit card alerted me to a merchant credit, so I checked. The money came back as 4 separate credits from NCL for very different odd amounts, but the total of the 4 credits was exactly what I was owed to the penny. Great job NCL on processing time since my request to turn my FCC into money refund!

This looks like  we qualify for a refund under the 2 nd bullet- first cancelled via Peace of Mind AND then was affected by at least one additional suspension.

When I go to the site - www.NCL.com/case-suspension as it says - all I see is a form for guest relations and it asked for Sail date and reservation number -  is that the correct form?  Which sail date and reservation number do I put in- the original sail date where I cancelled using POM or the subsequent one they cancelled? There are no instructions. They ask for evidence to be attached, but they do not say what evidence they need.

Help- any guidance would be appreciated.
