  1. Yeah, you can't walk down to your local boat supply and buy one. :D

Yep. Last time I shopped for one at West Marine, they had just sold their last 7.5 ton anchor to some guy with an 18' center console.....:D

Anybody heard whether it's been recovered and reinstalled yet ?

  2. They've been talking about accepting electronic "passes" from other states for years, but nothing has happened. The authority that controls the Beachline Expressway between Orlando and Canaveral has this posted on their FAQ page:

I have a transponder from another state (i.e., FasTrak, E-ZPass, Toll Tag); Can I use it to pay my tolls here?

Quick Pass from North Carolina and PeachPass from Georgia can be used on any road with the E-PASS or SunPass logo. You can also use your E-PASS in North Carolina on the Quick Pass system and in Georgia on the PeachPass system. Passes from other states are not accepted in Florida.

E-PASS, SunPass and LeeWay (Lee County) are compatible with each other and may be used on toll roads and bridges throughout Florida.

Paying cash, the tolls between MCO airport and the port are only $2.00.

  3. I think your visit was on a Friday. Liverpool tend to put on celebrations and events on Saturday or Sunday when more people are not in work and the children don't have to go to school. However I hope you enjoyed your visit here.

    :)

Correct. We were there on Friday, May 27th. It was an impressive turnout for a Friday.

We absolutely enjoyed our visit. The highlight was tours of the Catholic and Anglican cathedrals. And your fellow residents were very friendly and helpful. We hope to return when we have more time to enjoy everything the city has to offer.

  4. Per Wikipedia: "Egg Island is an uninhabited island, officially an islet, comprising 800 m2 (8,611 sq ft) in the Bahamas. It's so named because it is home to chickens owned by residents of other nearby islands who travel here to collect the eggs."

What could DCL possibly do with an "island" that is only 8,611 square feet ? That's less than the size of my backyard, which is by no means large.

  5. Yeah' date=' well....IMHO they destroyed the Magic atrium during the "re-imagination." They took out a beautiful chandelier, different design than the Wonder but same artist, and replaced it with a hunk of junk. They removed the double staircase which allowed for so many amazing "staging" events.[/quote']

This was the original Chihuly chandelier on Magic.

  6. Pop can not be checked with luggage , he must check in with Mom .[emoji6]

That made my day !! :)

I worked in the baggage area at Orlando Airport for 13 years. I cannot even begin to estimate how many bags came through dripping and with the contents soaked with booze and broken glass. They can't be loaded aboard the aircraft like that, because (1) the booze is flammable, and (2) it contaminates any other bags it comes in contact with.

There was an old Samsonite luggage commercial showing a gorilla tossing suitcases around. That mental picture should be enough to make you think twice about packing liquids like that in suitcases.

  7. Plastic and rubber does not show up on the x-rays that are used to screen checked luggage....

Have to correct you on that. Plastic and rubber DO show up on baggage xrays, or at least they did during the 13 years I screened baggage. Even cloth shows up; it's all a matter of the operator's interpreting the image's density and shape.
