  1. I’m always wishing for and extra night (or week lol) on a 7 night cruise. 8 nights seems to be the perfect number. 💕 Tomorrow, spa appointments and Giovanni’s dinner, may or may not get off in Labadee. then the last sea day, Bingo (just because we always say we will and never do) Johnny rockets for lunch, then little wonders scavenger hunt and pub crawl. solarium time today….. belly flop competition at the pool….. I always wondered why they did it at the aqua theatre on theses larger ships and this is why…. just a sea of people….. couldn’t even get close to the railing outside to take this photo. The best I could do was excuse myself and talk someone into letting me squeeze in by the window of the windjammer to capture this pic…. turned out to be a perfect time to grab lunch in the windjammer, because it was deserted 👍
  2. Interesting to know. I am a diehard Pepsi fan but will say I really liked the Caribbean version!
  3. yes, you could absolutely mix and match anything on the premier combo side.
  4. You can’t go wrong with Izumi hibachi. Entertainment and a good meal! But the amount of meat/protein is insane. I had the beef tenderloin and lobster. It was effectively a full serving of each…., after having Edame, salad, and fried rice…. full blown food coma The young girls shared some kind of sushi or roll, not sure exactly. It looked pretty…. Game changing addition to the dessert menu at Izumi. If you’ve suffered thru these options In the past! …maybe I’m in the minority but those chewy, gelatin mochi bites are just yuck and a complete waste of calories . we now have a chocolate lava cake!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 If only this had a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Brought it back to the cabin so could doctor it up later 😏
  5. Thank you! 😊 Wipe out serves a condensed version of the windjammer. Eggs, waffles, hash brown potatoes, bacon, sausage. Fruit, oatmeal, and Pastries. Juices and coffee. made to order eggs and omelets
  6. all aboard was 3:30. The resort for a day information says they will arrange your transportation 90 minutes before the Ships scheduled departure time. We got picked up at 2:30. And they were going to return to pick up a second group after us 🤔
  7. Random thoughts and observations from the last two days…. Since I missed yesterday 😉 - MTD lines are almost always long. Reservations or no reservations doesn’t seem to matter. - no one encouraging you to sanitize your hands before entering the MDR. Or Cafe Promenade. Or sorrentos. Or specialty restaurants. 🤷🏼‍♀️Just the windjammer and park cafe - the compass IS on the TV. there’s a QR code that you can scan in the corner of the screen that loads it. Still not sure if it works unless you purchase WIfi -touch screen elevator buttons are not nearly as sensitive as on Odyssey, where they can all be selected by just backing into the elevator buttons - the silent disco is a MUST DO… we had so much fun! Sorry I waited this long to try it. -Centerpiece LIVE band in Dazzles is great! - the pub performer leaves a lot to be desired. Asked us for any requests, I replied “something happy” he replied, “as opposed to what?” , so I replied, “as opposed to something sad, like the Edmund Fitzgerald” …. Any guesses what he played next?????? 🙄 I really miss the pub performers that got everyone singing along. Haven’t seen one in a very long time. I might be willing to book a ship if one still exists out there somewhere!
  8. Overall, a good experience with Resort for a Day here. I spoke to a woman on our shuttle who did the resort for a day option in Aruba and she said it wasn’t nearly as nice as the Marriott. Plenty of staff, food and beverage service was great, you could eat at the covered restaurant or have food delivered to your chair at the beach or pool. Food was good , wifi was zippy from any spot. It was a little confusing trying to find the representative once we exited the ship tho because there are two “welcome” areas in the port. We had to walk to the second area, but arrived 10 minutes early, so we walked around a bit. Promptly at 9 am (as promised ) the Resort for a day guide gathers our entire group of around 16 people and proceeds to walk us towards the port exit and awaiting vehicle. pretty rough looking. No air, and only holds 9 people. So she said we need to make a “few trips” to get everyone to the hotel. 🥵🤨 she claims the driver will be back for the rest of us in ten minutes. Even at 9 am, It’s hotter then H in the sun. thankfully we were able to show our sea pass cards and re-enter the port area to stand in the shade. Because it wasn’t 10 minutes. More like half hour. When we finally get to the hotel, we had to check in at the front desk, more confusion that requires looking for an updated list. Blah blah blah. Nobody moves with and sense of speed. Say hello to “island time” we finally sat down around 10:30. Almost 2 hours after walking off the ship. Resort for a day contracts with a third party for the transportation, so perhaps this was just a fluke. And I certainly wasn’t expecting a luxurious Mercedes coach, but no excuse in my opinion to not arrange transportation for the entire group that booked. And then be prepared to check those people in when they arrive. lunch and snacks didn’t know there was such a thing as Caribbean coke….. but there is, and it tastes much better than US coke another LONG walk back…. explorer is here today
  9. We actually were under our limits, but we had to leave by 2:15 to get the shuttle back. The 4 hours flew by, but I would definitely do it again, particularly if we had more time in port.
  10. Cost was $139 per person. Includes transportation (that was the lowlight) pool and beach access, lounge chairs , towels, Wi-Fi and food and beverage credit of $65 PP
  11. A bit of confusion getting here which resulted in some cranky campers but all is good now and we shall focus on the positive! beautiful resort and ocean views, not very crowded, good beverages 😋
  12. Central Park is one of my favorite features on Oasis class ships. After countless sailings it still never gets old, and I always find different angles and perspectives 😎 I make it a point to take at least 10-12 photos there every sailing. Allure is particularly photogenic because the plantings are so mature compared to the newer ships.
  13. Aruba isn’t a particularly “pretty” port as far as the views from the ship…. I had originally planned to try and book a dinner on the beach at sunset here….I think I thought the port hours were longer 🤔 🤦🏼‍♀️ wound up cancelling a dinner reservation at Waters Edge in Aruba. Ate in the MDR instead and made some spa appointments for day 7 in Labadee using one of the port specials. Post sunset view
  14. my friend ordered it. She asked the waiter what it was like….he said on the lighter side, similar to a corona. She liked it, and said not at all ”hopsy” I think I will try a local beer in curaçao if there is one, and I’ll report back.
  15. iguana joes for beverages and snacks before returning to the ship…pink Iguana was delish
