Something to consider. Weather should not be a problem in May, but here is what we just experienced. We had the early ( 6:35 am ) flight in the morning to Fort Lauderdale on recent Saturday. Our cruise was on Sunday { Allure ). Due to some mechanical error, we did not leave till 1:30 pm. There were about eight people who were scheduled on different cruises for Saturday. They obviously missed the cruise as we did not land till 4:15. I won't EVER fly the day of. Felt terrible for the people.

I see you are going in August. I would say it's not open yet. We were on Allure in January and the character b'fast reservation opened well after we could make our dining reservations. Keep looking. :)

There is no extra charge for them. Only problem is, i couldn't go to Boardwalk without stopping to have one every time. The sauteed peppers and onions on them were delicious. ..favorite was the " sicilian "

Good to know. Can you let me know how to got to Chankanaab from pier? We will be in carnival in April so I am guessing it will be Puerto Maya dock.

Any of the cabs stationed at the pier will take you there. Seems like it was $12.00 one way.

We were on the same sailing and i took many many pictures myself. LOVE looking at yours.... Many of the pics are of the same objects, but yours are much better.:(

We love the promenade rooms. Had one on Liberty and having another on Freedom. Music from 70's party is over by 10:30 or so, so unless you go to bed early there will not be a problem.

Deck 5 aft... there are chairs where you can relax, and watch the wake of the ship. In the afternoon its shaded, and quiet... unless there is a performance in the Aqua Theatre above.

Wife and i sat here for close to an hour and nobody else came by. Totally relaxing.

No sheesh, he is right. :) If you ask, a hundred people, you are likely to get a hundred differing opinions on this as food itself is very subjective. *shrug* Personally, we will not be going to Portofino or Chops again, liked and did not like several things about each restaurant. Does that help you? Probably not. :D;) LOL

Totally agree that it depends on the musician. We have spent many hrs on some cruises and about 1/2 hr on others. Doesn't take long to realize if they are good or bad.

Are the official RCI luggage tags necessary for your carry-on baggage, or only for your checked baggage, as long as there is some I.D. on the carry-on?

In answer to your question. NO they are not necessary. :)

Just off the Allure and we absolutely LOVED it. No comparison to any other ship. ( haven't been on Oasis ). For the 2400.00 difference in price we would go with Freedom. As a matter of fact we are. Snared one of those Promenade specials for 369.00 a while back.

In my experience every time we have been on Oasis and Allure it will state in the compass if there is a professional photographer present or not. I would assume it is the same on all ships.

You are correct. Sometimes there will be a photog. and other times you will need your own camera. One of the " helpers " will be glad to take a family picture with your camera. It will be posted in compass.

Do folks dress up in "roaring 20s" style for that?

We were on Allure week of Jan 26th and also had Merik and Desran in dining room. Agree that they were both very good. :)

Just off Allure last week and they were still calling numbers at 10:30. :)

We were just on Allure sailing of Jan. 26th. How to train your dragon was on Day 4 at 7:15 and 9:00 pm. No tickets needed. ( the day we were at Falmouth ) Loved it. aprox 25 minutes of non stop skating.

Had one on Liberty of Seas and enjoyed it. Deck seven. Going on Freedom of Seas and having one again ( deck seven ) No noise problem as we were out and about till late.

Many opportunities for photos with characters. Most of them you can use your own camera. They have a few that are taken by RCCL photographers. Seems like three or four times a day they were available for pictures. Breakfast with characters is great time for photos as they come around to your table. They have this two different morningsTwo parades during cruise whre the characters are in it.
