I wonder if I booked the same Godrey Tour that you all speak so highly of based on the recommendations here. Yes he was nice but nice doesn't make a tour memorable. We thought his tour was the worst of all the tours we did during the week. We couldn't see the sights due to the arch/edge of the roof on the open air bus obstructing our view. When he got to a sight to spotlight he would stop but it would be in front of trees so you couldn't get a picture or he would roll at a slow speek which makes for a blurry picture. The other thing I did not care for was that he is in the cab, so if we had questions he could not hear us to answer them. Most of the tour was him talking and no one really paying much attention. On a positive note, he was punctual and returned us to the ship on time. I would NOT recommend nor use him again in the future.

Maybe you weren't on the same tour. When he stopped at any lookouts or other places, he let anyone off that wanted to take pictures. He had a huge cooler on the back of vehicle full of water and different kinds of pop. He asked what kind we wanted and while we were shopping in town he went and bought it. He isn't responsible for people talking and not paying attention. His speakers were loud and clear so you could hear everything he was saying. We stayed ar Magens bay around 15 minutes so everyone could take all the pictures we wanted. He did the same at Coki beach.

Never seen anything but the Indian. In January we didn't waste our time watching. Was told it was an Indian again.

Enjoying reading your review. We took this cruise in Jan. of 2011. Got our album out and cannot believe how many of our pictures are almost identical to yours. Pictures from Key West and Grand Cayman are almost entirely the same. :)

Glad to read this info. We are returning car to Alamo this Saturday ( Jan.21) and will using the the shuttle..

Wouldn't the people who arrived first still board first without the zone numbers, since they were in line to check in before other passengers?

No. There isn't a line that they are standing in. They are all sitting in chairs. They get there BEFORE the ship is ready to board.

If you arrive at terminal later in the day, they do not use the zone numbers. People start arriving pretty early, before ship is ready to board, so the zone numbers make sure that those who were there first get to board first.

I recommend to google " Sunny Liston Tours" and watch some of the video. If you think you would enjoy the non stop LOUD music then go with him. After watching the video, we decided to go with Godfrey.

Seems like once a week someone is complaining about ES. Most of the time they don't understand the rules......

I cam on Carnival site at least twice a day and have NEVER received a call from our PVP...

The answer to your question is yes you can, but it seems like it would be hard to time it so you could do both. They say to allow two to two 1/2 hrs for steak house. Good luck ...

Is the Pasta Bar is open for the dinner (like 8:00PM) ?

When we were on Dream, the hrs for pasta bar were Noon till 3:30

We are most likely going to do the Altun Ha tour through Carnival. This is our first cruise and am concerned about the distance to the ruins.

 

One question - the Carnival tour gets back by 1:00 but the ship doesn't sail until 5:00 (I assume we will need to be on board by 4:00). What is there to do in the port area for a few hours instead of going back to the ship?

Nothing to do except shop.You are in an area surrounded by walls. We found a bench and just people watched for a while..It is a nice view of the water..:rolleyes: Look up Island marketing for Altun Ha trip. You do not do the river part but lunch is included and you are in van of only 8 to 10 people. Cheaper than Carnivals trip also..

Folks seem to have different opinions (information?). If you want the correct answer looks like you will have to call the cruise line.

This answer could apply to a LOT of the questions on this board......( i agree with you ) Lot's of different ( and wrong ) answers around here...For questions like this , best bet is to call CARNIVAL....:rolleyes:
