  1. Uhh - yes it does sound as if you feel "entitled" because you could do it on other cruise lines. It makes no sense to me to choose Anytime Dining then expect to make a reservation. Choose Traditional Dining next time. That's where you make a reservation and stick to it.

I just hope the powers at Princess read these comments and take some action. They should check everybody's card at dining check in and if they are Traditional they should not be seated. Period. (oh, oh there's that period stuff again!)

  2. One of my best cruises ever was on Caribbean Princess. We booked a balcony cabin, but a couple of days before we boarded were offered a trade. If we'd give up our balcony cabin for an inside on Lido Deck they'd refund ALL OUR MONEY. I was told to come down to the pursers desk on the last day and they'd give me a check. Well, when I got there the woman started peeling off $100 bills....30 of them! I don't remember one single thing about that cruise except for the fact that we smiled the whole time.:)

    748 days at sea....38 ships.....7 continents

After reading this I guess I would consider an inside for the 1st time!

  3. IMHO, your best bet would be to look up Island Marketing & look at their Belize tours.

We have done their Goff's Caye snorkeling & it was great & it was $40 PP + tip. All the rum punch you can drink & Lobster Kbobs for sale there at Goff's.

    Enjoy Belize.

    Bill in FL

Been there, done that. I was looking for something new. Maybe we'll do it again though.

  4. We had reservations with Coral Breeze for the Bannister Island Beach Break on Nov. 27th. Yesterday I was cancelled out since they said nobody else signed up for the tour that day. 4 ships in port that day and nobody signed up? After that I was told that the resort had just been sold too so they had to renogitiate the contracts. This whole thing smells funny. I am wondering if there are any other companys that go to this island as I can't seem to find any?

Does anybody else have any info on this?

I am now scrambling to find something else to do in Belize that we have not done before.

  5. Hey Renman22 - We just got off the same cruise as you and feel the same way. I'm glad I'm not the only one. The food in the MDR and buffets was basically inedible. For those who liked the food, I would never want to take their recommendation on food. Everything covered in some type of sauce and tasted the same. The Australian "premium" beef was gray. We walked out of the Crown Grill when they couldn't get the temperature correct on the steaks after the third re-fire and we couldn't cut through it and the sides were cold and undercooked. We ate pizza for basically the entire cruise. We even complained to the food and beverage director who agreed with us that the food was very poor quality. Will never do Princess again either. That was our first Princess cruise and last.

    As for the shows.... ugh!

We did enjoy the ports, the pools and the pizza though and Sabatini's was pretty good.

If the food was so awful I'll bet everybody lost weight on this cruise. I kind of doubt it though. Inedible??

  6. Just came off the Caribbean Princess yesterday and the only wall dispensers I saw were in the Lotus Spa. The room had bottles - Shampoo, Conditioner, & Lotion, as well as bar soap.

We did have the new, improved beds in our stateroom though. (I know you didn't ask that).

I guess I'll have to bring my own shower gel (soap) for the 1st time ever.

  7. Well said!

I guess I'm just a little befuddled by your comments.....

    You claimed:

*The staff for the most part really knocked themselves out to give great service.

    *The room steward was super.

    *The MDR waiters were great.

*The young man who runs the Captains Circle (or whatever it is called) was first class.

*The ship was in ship shape. The CP is in terrific condition and well cared for.

*The food in the Crown Grill bordered on great. We ate there twice and thought it was worth every penny; great food and service.

*The nightly buffet was pretty good and at least showed some effort.

Then you had mild gripes with how crowded you felt the vessel was, the lack of space to accommodate, and then the itinerary(specifically short port times). Were you not aware of the capacity or itinerary port times before you chose this re-positioning cruise?

Your biggest beefs were with the food in the MDR and the Horizon Court -- Yet above you claim the nightly buffet was "pretty good"? Having cruised a bunch on the so-called ''premium lines' as you claim, have you ever found the food not to be hit-or-miss? Surely you know that if you find yourself not liking a particular entree you can always order something else in its place. A person can generally find something worth eating on these ships.

You then claim that you could go on and on and on....But you don't. You end it there with your: "The ugly"

So in sum, it seemed like other than the feeling of it being too crowded and the sub-par food, you gave pretty glowing remarks for everything else that you mentioned.

I guess I'd like a little further clarification has to why this one experience has turned you off to the line for good. Is it primarily because of the dining/food experience? The lack of comfortable space?? The lackluster entertainment???

    Is that it?

    If not, please elaborate?

  8. We will be there in January, and fortunately, we too booked when the rates were 65 pp. Soooo looking forawrd to this little piece of Paradise!! I have read tons of good reviews for this place and by the time we finally get there, it will certainly be nice, and well worth it! :D
I would really like to go on this one but at 88.00 per person, 196.00 for the 2 of us, I think they have just priced themselves out of the market.
  9. So, you changed your mind. Glad you decided to stay.

I am on email subscription so whatever gets deleted i still have access to.

I am sure most of us are on email subscriptions for subscribed threads and I fail to see what posts were deleted. Maybe I just missed something or never got the email notification.

  10. Cruising out of NOLA on Carnival Conquest, September 16th. Looking to stay one night in NOLA. Found the Quality Inn 100 Westbank Expressway near the NOLA Cruisport. Free full breakfast, free WiFi, free parking up to 14 days and shuttle to the cruiseport and back all for $110/night.

My question: Is this a safe area. I'm traveling with older people and I want to be sure they are safe.

  12. Thanks! Sometimes, Priceline will tell you to bid $17 more to have a better chance of winning, but everyone advises not to listen to that bit of advice. So I was just wondering.

Thats exactly what happened to me. After I bid and lost Priceline said I could get it for 17.00 more and I bit. Now I regret it as I see others got the exact same hotel on the same date for about 12.00 less than me!

  13. We've never used priceline before, but I'll never make a hotel reservation without them again!

Has anyone stayed there before? Thanks. :)

I feel cheated! Just this morning I got the same hotel and same date for 77.00 + 19.00 tax.
