  1. Latest update "Fortunately the Pride has made up some time throughout the afternoon. As of now, our arrival time may still be delayed." Another update by 9:30 AM.

They are asking that people do not arrive at the terminal until after the final update.

  2. That is unfair! I am a baby boomer, and I do not bitch non stop to stop a tour bus! And I have NEVER considered my hubby and myself as only thinking of “me, me, me”. We raised 5 children and now have 14 grandchildren, so we never had time or the money to just think of “me”. Please don’t group me along with your preconceived notion of what my generation was like. We worked our asses off to get anywhere, starting from nothing to get a home, etc, where as most younger generations want to walk right into a home right out of HGTV, so please stop with your generalizations of our generation.

Well said and we were taught to have respect for the "older" folks. What goes around, comes around and everyone reaches those Golden Years eventually. ;p

  3. I use Allianz. They have 3 levels of coverage. I suggest you plug in your info to Allianz and Travel guard and get quotes. It’s easy and free to get quotes online. I have used Allianz classic plan for my last 4 Carnival Cruises.

I have also used Allianz many times and find the cost to be less than the cruise lines and some other Companies. Only had to put in a claim once and it was handled quickly and efficiently.

  4. Hi All, I am looking to book a cruise on the Pride. I just have one question, sorry if it is a bit strange I will explain. For anyone who has stayed in the Ocean Suite rooms that have the vanity area next to the bathroom, is there a sliding door that closes and/or locks that vanity area? I suffer from stress induced hair loss :( and for the sake of my self-esteem, I need to do my hair in private. I've watch several videos that gave tours of the room, one guy even showed the outlets in the vanity area, which was great I can use my hair dryer. In the same video I saw a strike plate on the door jam and what looked to be a rolling door that closed that area, but it went by really quick so I couldn't be certain.

    Any information is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Yes there is a sliding door leading into the vanity area.

  5. We're leaving on the Splendor this Saturday and I received an email last night that says the following:

Due to operational considerations, we expect to open terminal doors at 1:30 PM. With this in mind, we kindly ask that you add one hour to your Arrival Appointment and plan to get to the cruise terminal promptly within the new time. Guests who arrive outside their new Arrival Appointment can expect to have longer wait times in line.

Our paperwork says to check in at 12:30. Does this mean that instead we need to check in at 1:30 instead? We've never traveled with Carnival before. Thank you!

That is what it means. We got this message once for Baltimore but it was a 4 hour delay. They would not let anyone in until the time they specified. :(

  6. We are cruising out of Baltimore later this year and need to go to BWI for an early afternoon flight.

There will be five of us and I’m thinking we will not all fit in one taxi. Are any of the taxis at the port a van and if so do they typically charge more? I know I could do a shuttle but I’ll have no idea when I’ll be off the ship and I’d prefer not to wait so I can make my flight.

    Thanks in advance

There are usually vans available just as you leave the terminal. Look for a person holding a sign KD ELITE Transportation. Tell him what you need and he will radio for the van to pull up. I imagine you could contact them in advance and make a reservation. 1-888-808-1212. We have used them several times and have been very satisfied.

  7. Yes. Here are the terms:

1Cardmembers who use their Carnival Mastercard to purchase a Carnival shore excursion on Carnival.com prior to their cruise, will receive a 10% discount on the shore excursion package (taxes and fees are not included in the discount). This discount will appear on the same billing statement as the shore excursion package purchase. Shore excursions may be booked online prior to sailing up until the Pre-Sail cut-off time of 11:30 pm ET, the evening prior to the cruise departure. The statement credit will be posted to their account within 1-2 business days and will appear on their account billing statement within 1 billing cycle. Please note, if a statement credit is going to be more than $2,499, it will require a few extra days to post to the cardmember's account.

Thanks so much for the quick response. :)

  8. That's old and no longer valid However, if you have a Carnival MC from Barclay's you can get 10% off excursions when using the card. The only benefit that's worth anything to me besides the initial free $100.

I do have the MC card from Barclays but was not aware of the 10% discount. Is this available when booking excursions on line prior to the cruise?

  9. i notice one poster answers with a negative comment on every question about goportcanaveral!!?? think this may be overdoing it a bit. Am using this service in december...will report back...everyone have a blessed day.:)

Do you have any feedback on using this service? I may have missed it but couldn't find any report from December. Any info is appreciated.

  10. 4pm this afternoon I get a call from carnival. We leave for Vista in the morning. We booked inside cabin on deck 7 aft. Offer was for Havana Extended Aft Balcony on deck 7 for $400 total. OMG! Jumped on this fast.
