  1. Special thanks to Mysticks1 on the Celebrity Cruises forum for this idea. I would like to begin to assemble one for CCL.

To the moderators, I would appreciate if we could make this a "sticky" at the top of the page for all to see.

I have seen this on other forums also and it seems to be useful.

Please, refrain from posting cabin questions here so this can purely be an informative thread, especially for those that are first time cruisers or seasoned cruisers looking for a great cabin.

    The template is as follows:

    Ship -Pride

    Deck - 7

    Stateroom # - 7254

    Stateroom Category – 8K balcony

Starboard or Port Side - port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – NO

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -NO

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Good view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - oversized

    Was wind a problem? -NO

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? -YES, noise

    Any other comments? -

It may seem hard to believe but this cabin is directly above the Nightclub on the 2nd floor and the vibration can be felt and heard 5 floors up. As all DJ's do they turn the "bass" up full and it apparently travels right through the structure of the ship so that when you put your head on the pillow you feel and hear it. This goes on until 2 or 3 AM.
  2. Carnival cruiser but we took Princess to Alaska in 2015. Loved the way we were treated. Only thing that bothered us was most were older.

We are in our 50s and it seemed the average age was about 70 at least.

Can't for the life of me understand why this would "bother" you.

  3. Maybe that is specifically a Pride issue. I had 7258 on the Miracle (Great Cabin!!!) a couple years ago and never heard a peep!

I'd have to guess that is because 7258 is not directly over the Club like 7254. I agree the cabin was great otherwise.

  4. Although this room is 5 floors above the 2nd floor Night Club the vibration from the music can be felt right through the pillow when you try to sleep. Now this would more than likely hold true for rooms on floors 4, 5 and 6. It does not stop until between 2 and 3 am. If you are a light sleeper this could be a problem..it was very annoying. We were on the Pride last week. Just saying...:(

  5. I would not worry about the check in time on your boarding documents as they are fairly much ignored and never enforced. Most people arrive for check in at a time that is convenient for them.

I am surprised that your cruise check in doesn't start until 12:30 because usually most sailings check in starts around 10:00 with boarding starting around 11:00.

My guess would be with that late of of a check in start that would be a lot of people all ready waiting at time.

    Enjoy your cruise.

Boarding times are not ignored anymore. We were on the Pride April 2nd and they did not even open the doors to the building until 12:00. Then the people holding Priority boarding passes were let in and the others could not enter until 12:30. There were hundreds of people waiting outside of the building which seems crazy since there are hundreds of empty seats inside of the building. Even then, the guests from the previous cruise were still disembarking. The new arrival time for Baltimore is now 10:00am and the departure time is 5:00pm. The ramp to get on the ship is now fixed.

  6. I doubt you'll hear back from the OP, since this thread is 3.5 yrs old. To lorddog, who resurrected it, the free bounce back offers are on extremely limited sailings. And if you find one that will work, you need to book it immediately, because they go quickly.

Do you know if the Casinos are still offering the Bounce Back? I thought I read here that it was stopped but can't find the post.

  7. The current boarding situation is much easier, especially for a person with limited mobility. Enter at low level; nearby elevators (and stairs) provide access to the entire ship. The only downside for passengers is entering a plain, utilitarian space rather than a "Wow" space.

I read that the ramp is now fixed and in operation. Would you know if people with limited mobility can choose to embark at the lower level to avoid the steep incline...or is this now closed off?

  8. She always gets them for at least $100 each. But I think most retail stores are also only offering them in denominations of $100 anymore. There are some stores with the smaller amount cards still left but it's very scarce.

Thanks for the reply. $100 is more than I want to spend on a gift so I'll come up with a plan B.:)

  9. I think the casino department is playing an early April Fools joke on us with these new offers ....[emoji15]

I agree with you...the prices seem extremely high. Example: Sunshine 8 day July 18, 2017 for 2 people in a balcony cabin is $3402.50!! We have never paid anywhere near that for a carnival cruise. Disappointing for sure.:(

  10. Thanks. We do self debark, as we travel with carryons only. We also have Global Entry so should sail right through security. Can you give me an idea what the taxi costs? EM

Although not a limo we got a private car from drivers who stand just outside of the terminal. Much more comfortable ride and the cost was $40 plus tip.

From the airport to the cruise terminal it's a metered rate. From the cruise terminal to the airport it's a set rate. Approximately a 15 minute ride.:)

  11. Coming in on Carnival Pride on a Sunday (March 12). Considering flights on Southwest, would we be able to make a 12:25 flight, or is 4pm the better option? Of course, the earlier one is less expensive...EM

We just did this last week and had no trouble making our 12:30 flight. We did self assist [carry your own bags off the ship] and were in a taxi to the airport by 9:30. Of course the ship arrived on time so all went well. :)

The day we got on the ship, however, the Pride did not arrive in port until much later and we couldn't board until after 2:00 as it took that long to disembark all passengers. In this case we would have missed our flight on Southwest. :(

I guess it depends on how much you want to gamble on the ship arriving on time. We have done it 3 times now with good results...but you can't really be 100% sure.
