  1. I'm wondering what other Havana category passengers think I should do. Tomorrow, I'm going to our 30th anniversary celebration cruise. We've decided to try a Havana category stateroom, but we can't decide if we want a Cabana or Aft-view room. Dh is leaving it up to me. On one hand, we like the idea of trying something new - a patio with a lounger for dh and a swinging chair for me. On the other hand, the reason we always book a balcony room is because we value the relative privacy of a balcony.

We had the same dilemma. We sail in November on Horizon so I can’t speak from experience yet, but we ended up choosing a Havana Aft extended balcony over the Havana cabana for three reasons: 1. Aft Balcony has a bit more privacy than Cabana. 2. Aft balcony has an unbeatable view (cabana looks at the water through a glass wall) 3. Aft balcony ( we chose deck 7) will be quieter than a cabana stateroom near the nighttime band in the Havana bar. 4. Want to be sure to get my steps in and I was worried that a cabin on deck 5 would mean a lot fewer steps since so much is on deck 5.

I was so temped to try the cabana stateroom because it is new and different, but in the end the benefits of the aft balcony won out for us.

  2. I was curious about this as well! I found some information on the festival website bernudaheroesweekend dot com

There is a list of events and their locations under the events tab so you can see where to avoid or where to go if if you want to take part in the festivities.

  3. If we book Horizon or Vista again, we will choose a Havana balcony cabin on 6 for a couple of reasons. First, our cabin was extremely hot, Secondly, I missed having the view that a balcony affords.

Thanks so much for this feedback from your experience on Horizon. I have an aft Havana balcony booked for November on deck 7. I thought deck 6 might have too much noise coming up from Havana Bar below, but deck 6 seems nice because it is so close to the pool area.

  4. Looking at Havana Cabana or balcony. Both are available. Will have 2 sea days to enjoy them. Just can't decide if the cabana set up is worth the people possibly walking by in the evening' date=' or we should get a balcony on 6 and just walk down a flight of stairs to enjoy the pool, hot tubs, etc.

    Any opinions welcome...[/quote']

I have not sailed on Horizon or Vista yet, but just booked an aft Havana Balcony on deck 7 for November. I had the same dilemma about choosing an aft balcony or a Havana Cabana. Both seem amazing and honestly I know I would have enjoyed either. In the end, I chose the aft balcony for 3 reasons:

    1. The VIEW, I love stepping out on my balcony and seeing the ocean, photographing sunsets/sunrises, and looking at the stars. While the Cabanas look amazing, I decided the glass panel between me and the ocean would make it so I couldn't take photos from my balcony(which I love to do).

    2. Aft Havana balcony was about $400 less expensive than Havana Cabana on my sailing when I booked.

    3. I chose deck 7 to be sure I get my steps in-figured if I was on deck 5, I wouldn't get as much exercise walking to the Havana pool-ha ha

Looking forward to seeing some Horizon reviews come in soon!

  5. Check-in time is part of your registration process -- names, payment method, etc. Check-in time will show up as part of that process about 4 t0 6 months prior to your cruise. It is the time you are scheduled to enter the terminal. It is not boarding time and has nothing to do with FTTF.

So if you have already checked in and check-in time was not available to choose yet, where exactly will you find that option once it is available? Thanks!

  6. I agree with you 100%.

I am up to my max with what we want to pay, otherwise we can book a whole other cruise for that price.

I agree as well. I was considering spending $$ to bid on an amazing aft balcony suite, but then reminded myself that I could go on another cruise for that $$ and just booked a second cruise! That said, many people get great upgrades that they are excited about and are happy to spend the extra $ on. Bottom line is you need to book a cabin you are happy with and view the upgrade as icing on the cake!

  7. FTTF won’t be offered on Horizon out of the Port of Miami until the December 1st, 2018 cruise. This is common practice for Carnival with new ships being stationed in new ports. They did same thing with Vista.

Correct, since they do this with every new ship.

There have been plenty of threads here about this.

I haven't sailed Carnival for a few years and haven't been on the Carnival boards so I was not aware that they do this with new ships.Thank you everyone for the info :)
