Just returned from a week on Breakaway and we really enjoyed Margaritaville! The Nachos were huge and super delicious and the margaritas were quite good. Loved the view from up there too.

OP is asking about complimentary restaurants.
Does Teppenyaki offer a complimentary lunch or am I thinking of the Asian restaurant on a different line?
Oops. Yes, you are right. I read it quickly and assumed specialty. Sorry! Prime rib in MDR was quite good. Also if you like shrimp cocktail they had it at buffet several nights. We got some to take back to our cabin around 5:30 cause we ate dinner at 8.
Teppanyaki did not offer complimentary lunch on the Breakaway.

And on Breakaway the huge nachos from Margaritaville were delicious and only a $6 up charge

Also...The chicken noodle dish at Teppanyaki was delicious!!!!! Was hesitant to book Teppanyaki but so glad I did- one of the best meals of our cruise.

We love Megan's bay. Typically take a cab and rent umbrella and chairs. A wonderful immaculate beach. Food, beverage is available for a fee. They also have a gift shop for the purchase of misc items.
I thought Megan's Bay was in St Thomas !

Hi Oceans if Travel! Curious what you thought of the Melia and why you are not returning. We are planning to go there for our Nassau stop this month.

What deck do we board on? I don't remember.
Haven't sailed Breakaway yet, but I think maybe we board on deck 7 and Guest Services is on deck 6? Hoping someone who actually knows will confirm or correct my guess :)

There are no gym changing rooms on Breakaway.
Wow! Did not know that. Thanks for the correction. So if I do not have a spa pass can I still use the exercise machines?
-
Never sailed on Breakaway, but 4 in an inside cabin is usually tight, but totally doable! Use the gym changing rooms for showering!

The walls on the breakaway are metal, we've used magnets on both BA cruises so far

Would love to know what type of magnet hook you buy and where you get them!

Hoping someone chimes in :)

Have seen both noted on the boards so I am wondering, where do you buy Vibe passes on Breakaway- Guest Services or Headliners?
Also, are Cabanas for Vibe sold at the same time or in advance through the web site?
Thanks in advance for any info recent Breakaway cruisers have. Cruising this spring on Breakaway and can't wait! :)

We sailed the Dawn to Bermuda and loved it, especially the convenience of leaving from Boston as we live on the North Shore. We did not have our children with us, however, and there did not seem to be that much to do for children. Might be worth the drive to NYC.

In Tortola: We found a cab driver and asked him to take us to a “locals” beach and he took us to Brewers Bay Beach. We were literally the only people on the beach aside from the man who owns the beach rental/beverage stand. The taxi ride was $10.00/pp. Because you are literally in the middle of nowhere, if you choose to go to this beach arrange with the taxi driver to pick you up at a specific time and tell him that you will pay him for both rides when he picks you up. Most of them will be happy to do this because it guarantees him a fare and then you can rest assured that you will be picked up. The snorkeling at this beach was unbelievable.

We sailed on Sunshine in March and loved her! Had a balcony cabin on deck 7 mid ship and no smell, ever. Food choices were excellent and loved the new cabin decor. The serenity area is the nicest of any ship I have sailed on. I would sail on Sunshine again in a heartbeat.
-
I'm confused....on the Sunshine...I've seen some old TVs in some cabin pictures I've found on line...You would think that when they refurbish an older ship it would include a flat screen TV.....also heard there aren't refrigerators in a lot of the rooms. Any truth to all this?? I would welcome any info!!!
Just on Sunshine in March and we did not have a fridge, but did have a newer TV. We were in balcony cabin 7239.

Carnival does have meet and greets for 18-20 year olds. We were on the Sunshine a few weeks ago and they had a number of gatherings that our 19 year old went to.
-
We prefer to be farther down the beach with fewer people- feels more like paradise that way! We had cabana 14 and loved it. The lower number cabanas are right near all the loud music and crowds of people, sometimes drunk and rowdy, which is not where I would want to be with a 2 year old. I think you would be happy with one if the cabanas between 9 and 14.

They did not ask me why we were changing, they just did it. Each sign and sail card can only open one room so you can't have both rooms on one card.
-
So they would keep same card with picture, room is just programmed into card. Is that right?
Yes, this is correct. I just sailed on the Sunshine last week and once we boarded we went to guest services and they reprogrammed the cards so that they opened the appropriate cabin doors. It was quick and easy.
Wwhat is the verdict on Margaritaville on Breakaway?

Yeah- the location is out of the way. Also on Breakaway in the winter there are several sea days that it is way too cold to be there since it is covered but not enclosed, meaning it is an open-air eatery and unusable when it is cold or windy as it was 3 of the 7 days of our cruise. It was also only open lunchtime through about 5 pm.
