  1. All I can say is,in all of the crossings,of this famous area of sea is

In my experience,is. The worst sea I have seen is a heavy swell.

Now, to a cruise novice, this can be quite alarming. But the reputation

Is I feel undeserved. Perhaps, force eight. Like others, have known

Force twelve. That is very noticeable.

  2. Returned today, from two weeks on aurora. Arrived at mayflower terminal

At one forty five. Ticket said two thirty.there were many people sitting

And waiting.so was not too confident.lady gave me an h card.

Said sit over there. Straight after, she saw a position at check in

Vacant. Go there she said, oh joy, I thought! Two minutes, another two minutes

Through security. The lift was broken, so had to board from the keyside.

Returning today, buisiness as usual. The elevated walkway in position.

The new large lift, working. Just the usual fun of finding the bags!

  3. Thank you dai,to date , the helper always took us to check in. Ocean terminal.

Previously at the mayflower, there was a queue to check in after security

The helpers waited in the lounge, until the call, then boarded all the wheelchairs

In a convoy. Tomorrow, will be interesting! Especially in the surroundings. The new ones that is. The word is the check in time has been put back to 12 .45.

Up to now always been in the terminal by midday. Have decided to arrive

Maybe an hour later. Ticket time 2.30. We shall see! Thanks everyone,

Who has taken an interest. Regards, Mike, here in hythe. Opposite

    The berths.

  4. Dai, as a fellow wheelchair/scooter user, how did you get on last time?

Did you get taken straight to check in,with assistance?

We go Wednesday on aurora. Would really like to know your experience.

    Regards, Mike.

  5. Thanks florry for your kind observation. You have obviously had some

Personal experience. I found the official statement from the p&o

Person very by the book, and unhelpful. But what more would we

Expect, from someone not directly involved with people with special needs.

We shall arrive before the ticket time. But not as early as we would

Have done in the past. As advised, will ask for assistance. Then we will see!!

Kind regards, for all your interest, Mike.

  6. Thanks, for a very considered opinion. My travel agent told me to go

As per usual. In other words, early! It has to be a gamble.

Perhaps we will know more before our aurora departure, on the 28th.

On a personal level, my wife is a wheelchair user, and with assistance

Have in the past been taken straight to check in.

  7. On the p&o section, there has been a long running thread about boarding.

Enforcing the e ticket check in time. Does this development effect

Cunard? I have a foot in both camps!
