  1. We wanted to see the Canadian sectors and tried setting it up via the Roll call.....no luck as everyone wanted to see the American sectors...Ended up just doing a private tour with just my wife and I....Was a bit $$$, but worth it.....Used Label West https://www.label-west.com/ Yes many say driving is easy in France, but we just wanted max relax and have a professional guide...Of all the port stops on our cruise, this was the 1 I had been looking forward too the most (too bad it was the first stop, lol) Didnt want to waste time getting a rental car either..wanted to maximize everything. Gl

  2. I used https://www.label-west.com/ and they were great, but ended up doing a private tour of just my wife and myself...as I could not get enough people to goto the Canadian sectors...so not sure if they accept payment from individuals. I have organized a fair # of private tours....usually just have to put down the deposit on behalf of the group..and on tour day pay the balance..usually in cash....of course if people don't show up, you have to pony up the cash, but I have never had an issue with that.

  3. Overlord is probably 1 of the more talked about companies on these boards when it comes to Normandy. I chatted (email) with them and they were very professional. I ended up going with label West and they were great! But it was just my wife and I and we saw the Canadian sites! Yes it was a bit $$$, but well worth it!

1 thing to keep in mind is van sizes.....the vans are much smaller than N. American vans....so yes they can hold 8.....but not comfortably..and that was told to me by a gentleman who took an overlord tour. But you probably can't go wrong with either company..just dont wait to long as the good companies book up well in advance.

  4. Canuck here..ex military guy...Thus i wanted to see the Cdn sites! We used https://www.label-west.com/ and had a great private tour (just my wife and I) They provided us with a driver and a guide, and we had a great full day tour! We had thought of renting a car...also tried to form a tour in the Roll call..but most wanted to see the USA sites..thus why we decided to splurge and do it on our own. 1 thing to keep in mind when forming tours..the vans they use tend to be small....so it can be a tight fit! Start to reserve soon as the good companies tend to fill up very early!

  5. Thank you. I didn't mean to imply that they never respond. I have had a conversation going with them for weeks (some of this due to their slow response times), attempting to set up an agreeable itinerary. Am now down to a good match and am trying to make a deposit/get my dates in writing. I waited 11 days, then re-messaged them. Got an immediate response. Now the person who has my file (Ingrid, I believe) is out of town and I should wait for her return, which is fine with me. It's just that they're erratic. I was hoping to hear from those who have actually been on tours with them in the last few weeks so that I might know if I should stick it out or move on. I do love what they have offered me.:(

We used them in Aug 2015..loved them!!!! We were to have a car to ourselves, but ended up having a whole van,lol Great driver and a great tour guide! I do recall some time the email responses took awhile.....But very happy with the product they delivered. We went and saw the Cdn sites!

  6. Yes, I'm planning a private tour for the two of us as well. They have finally responded to me but it does seem to take a few days to get answers, but it's their busy season right now. I like their tours and pricing. Thank you so much for your response.

We had a great private tour with them! Included a driver who was knowledgeable as well as an actual tour guide..... We were suppose to be in a Mercedes car....but actually had a Mercedes van all to ourselves (just my wife and I) 1 think to keep in mind when booking vans in Europe..they are usually smaller than N. American vans! I chatted with a few that had 8 in a group and they were pretty uncomfortable... Enjoy....

  7. Anyone else used Label West recently? I'm having a terrible time communicating with them. Their itineraries really interest me, but now feeling that I should find someone else.

Was a few times they were a bit slow...but for the most part they got back to me quickly.....We set up a private tour with them though..was just myself and my wife

  8. Line ups can get long at the castle.....1 gal (not in our group) was claustrophobic and was having issues.....then he had more issues once we got up top.....she was afraid of the height..and crawled! We were a small tour group and got their ahead of the big bus tour groups! Did not kiss the stone! The grounds are very nice.

  9. Think I posted a review, lol But label West was super! Great tour and we actually had a small van to ourselves..was just myself and wife. Great communication..great driver and a great guide... Highly recommend!

1 thing to keep in mind...the vans many use (including Overlord) are small and when they say they can take 8 people..it can be very crammed!.

  10. Well, now I checked the website and guess what.....there are only

evening times available for the day I wanted to go:rolleyes::(

I am really not sure how the folks who run the website do things......

I have been checking daily (for at least a month) but seems I must

have missed out:eek:......it shows the day but the times are listed

in Military hours.....1800 is 6:00pm....I am not going to visit in the

    evening.

    Guess I missed out.

They do sell out very quickly, and most people want the earlier slots....There will still be plenty of daylight at 6pm.....Its a small house and the tour itself isnt that long.....

  11. They only sell so many online tickets to the Anne Frank house...once they are sold out that is it! The lines (without prior ticket purchase) can be long...1 of the workers stated up to 5 hours long.....http://www.annefrank.org/en/Museum/Practical-information/Online-ticket-sales/

  12. Thank you. I have been reading about it, how to take it, etc. I also have a big bottle of ibuprofen to take along :D.

I'm sure u will be fine as you have read up on everything and educated urself...Many don't take altitude sickness seriously, which one should....Happened to a friend in La Paz Bolivia, which is over 10,000 ft I believe....Got there, thought all was fine and went about his normal routine, hit him hard the next day, lot of pain and discomfort.
