Breakfasts are always great!!
I enjoy their steak at the bottom of the menu that is always available, and I had it often on our recent British Isle cruise..I'm not a very adventurous eater, lol If it tastes good, why change, lol
-
I may very well do that, but the desserts didn't look too appealing. But I suppose I shouldn't worry about what menus I'll get till I'm on board. :)
Sometimes the desserts were not appealing..so went to Cafe Bacio deck 5 and they had better selections (all free). Or go up to deck 14 in the buffet for ice cream that they make right on the ship (free) or back on deck 5 across from Cafe Bacio is a Gelato place (not free) We were normally to full for dessert, lol
1 can always talk to the BLU Maitre D and she/he can arrange something for the MDR!
In BLU if you really want to be by yourself, just sit away from the windows, closer to the rear as it is not to busy back there.

I know that cruisers by and large are an outgoing bunch, and I respect that. I just happen to be an introvert (of the classic definition) who also likes cruises. Small talk for me is work, and makes me tired, which is not what I vacation for. (I also have an extremely dry sense of humor, so my table mates may also find me a bit off putting.) Meanwhile I'm booked in AQ but the MDR dinners look far more appealing. So I'd still appreciate if anyone could answer my questions. :)
We are very introverted as well. If u have never tried BLU..give it a try. What I enjoy about BLU is at the bottom of the menu they have 3 meals that are always there..a steak, chicken and salmon....so if I dont like 1 of the 4 selections, I just have the steak, lol

Thats why we enjoy Blu (Aqua Class)--plenty of tables for two and eat anytime! I was a bit more chatty this cruise, but we don't cruise to be chatty with others.

I was about to post a question about this subject when I noticed your post. I will be on my first Celebrity cruise next June on the Silhouette to the Baltic capitols. I have been on 4 NCL cruises with my girlfriend and she was on 9 Celebrity cruises before that. She says the food on Celebrity is better but the entertainment doesn't even come close to what was on the NCL ships. Mostly Las Vegas type shows performed by crew members plus some singers and a comedian. Is this true?
yep, pretty much it! We still enjoyed them..set the bar low,lol

http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/yellowbook/2016/infectious-diseases-related-to-travel/yellow-fever According to the link, the USA does not.....but i do Know costa Rica does and its not on the list
-
Your only issue would be if you visited a country prior to the USA that had Yellow fever..http://www.cdc.gov/yellowfever/maps/ Didn't visit them, they won't care! Enjoy the cruise

"Cruise director was Damian..from Toronto Canada."
You're only going to see Damian twice while onboard, on Celebrity TV (hawking watches and spa packages) in your room and the morning you disembark.
I had on my Calgary Flames pull over and we talked Toronto Blue Jays baseball for a bit, then he just abruptly left, was kind of odd......

Yes, correct. We had 123Go on our July cruise and just give the bartender your card and nothing else is needed.
The CP was great and never a need to upgrade.
Agree we had the classic....and we kept it!! I'm a boring cold beer, or rum/coke guy. Wife was able to find a glass of wine she enjoyed! We didn't go thirsty.

We were on the Silhouette Aug 8-22.Entertainment is in the eye of the beholder, lol We thought the British gal--Jayne Curry that was married to the golfer was pretty good. Lets see who else was there..Philip Browne, so-so. Chas Burnett, did not goto it.Velocity, which was the Silhouette dancers. Jon Courtenay, did not go. Justino & Daniela's Extreme Vegas--extreme boring. Ukebox, actually quite interesting! The Celtic dancers they had on in Dublin were great. We don't really expect much from the shows, so maybe that's why we somewhat enjoyed them. Helps having a rum/coke in ones hand as well, lol
Cruise director was Damian..from Toronto Canada. Activities director, Racheal from the UK

I could survive on pizza and beer.....on the Silhouette it was a very thin crust, and I was not a big fan of it, it was OK, but if I had ordered that at a restaurant, would be sending it back.
-
And if you happen to have booked an Aqua class cabin, the Blu should also be open for lunch.
Happy Cruisin'
Larry
Don't believe Blu is open for lunch..wasn't for our British Isles Cruise (aug 8-22 2015) nor our Med cruise in 2013

Not recently. Dress Shirts came back folded, and wrinkled. You have to request that they be pressed if they go in laundry.
Maybe depends on the ship....We were on the Silhouette Aug 8-22. used the Laundry services twice..pants and shirts came back on hangars..underwear and socks in the bag!

Our shirts and pants came back on hangars!

On the Silhouette, we would hand it in (leave in cabin) in the morning, and had it back by next day, usually late morning, early afternoon. You could pay a 50% fee and get it back the same day. We were select, and each received a 10% coupon for laundry

On our recent British Isles Cruise, people were nicely dressed, I stayed smart casual (BLU) and all was fine....I did see a few people in very casual shorts and a regular shirt in the theater. I could really care less how people dress on formal night, what makes me sort of turn my head is the people working out in the gym in their "street" clothes and then seeing them out and about on the ship in those same street clothes later on in the day.
-
Not a big cruiser....but the 2 times I have sailed on Celebrity, both on the silhouette..we boarded as soon as we could and was a breeze..those that arrived in the afternoon had a much longer wait! For example the boarding for our British Isles cruise (Aug 8-22) it stated boarding started at 1130, us and others arrived around 1045, and pretty much walked right on!
If the early show was at 8:45pm, it would be full, so arrive early! But if the early show started at 1900, it was usually only half full, so no rush to get there
