  1. Everyone accounted for, no Pier runners late in returning and we are on the move at 7:25 pm, thrusters sideways & leaving Bridgetown, Barbados. Tomorrow is the unplanned, last minute change stop from St. Lucia to Dominicia. Photos by Google Pixel 7 Pro
  2. Haha, menu w pictures. Food nicely presented but temperature would fail NYC Dept of Health inspection & safety standard, cold food cold & hot food served (not) hot, lukewarm only ... although they are supposed to be kept under heat lamps in the gallery (not easy to do, still)
  3. Scheduled 12 noon to 8 pm, all abroad 7 pm for off-duty crew & passengers at 7:30 pm to sail at 8. Just took them 35+ minutes to get cleared & everything ready. Terminal building with duty-free shops air conditioned and good WiFi with crews off the ship phoning home & even GM super Mario was in the shops area. Tonight's MDR menu, folks slowly making their way back to the ship & Tropicana starting to get busy ... ordered & waiting for our starters, soup & salad.
  4. Last batch from our tour - plenty of taxi drivers outside the gated area, to the right - marked as taxi stand, with prices clearly marked ($2 BDD currency = $1 USD) as we head back for a very late lunch / early dinner onboard. There is a 1 hour quickie tour for $10 p/p, taxi fare to 2 nearby beach are $7 p/p. Walk to downtown is 20 to 30 minutes a little over a mile away. ... some of these images are ideal as wallpapers for PC & smartphone, etc.
  5. 2nd batch from Bridgetown, Barbados going around the scenic island, villas & resorts Oldest Anglo Church here, since 1600's Monkey troops roaming free
  6. Doing a taxi-van tour of Barbados highlights around the island, 2.5 hours at $30 p/p Google Fi partner here using Digicel 4G LTE signal
  7. 12 noon, the rush started as ship has been cleared. Deck 4 Fwd gangway used to go ashore, photo ID and ship key card only plus cash / credit cards.
  8. OSH has now a simple & very short breakfast menu, the English Breakfast was called the Grand Slam before. Everything served hot and fairly quick, unlike the MDR but fewer choices. Service with a smile & we're promptly seated, in and out & done - 1 hour. BTW, still not ready for going ashore ... waiting for clearance & go ahead, lots of shorex offered by NCL at this stop.
  9. Hi, Ellie ... Sharon got this info & said to me, please put out an alert to our friends on CC. Sorry, just the "messenger" for the news. Let's just wish you a smooth & good sailing next week, and housekeeping twice a day, etc. Make the best out of it all. We got spoiled last year on the GA with only 1,700 or 1,800 and even the Joy in the Fall with around 3,000 - visualize 800 more souls onboard next week. Good Lord 🫣 Henry
  10. Welcome to Barbados ... just docked @ 11:15 am & gangways getting setup. OSH breakfast finished, stuffed full & ready to head out in a little while, sunny in low 80's with wind, breezy. Downtown is about 1 mile away, here's a Google Map view of our spot at the busy cruise - cargo terminal.
  11. The other news, GA isn't changing to once a day housekeeping on Feb 6, instead - they will be doing it on Feb 26 or later in the month, info coming from head of housekeeping, thanks to another CC'er that asked about it. The buffet, however closed up at 9:30 pm while some finished their meal with the entrances roped off. OSH or The Local is the option late night. Ordered the wings, didn't like the new battery/coating ... soggy. Burgers were fine, juicy & served hot.
  12. Dine with Officers for us, hosted by Executive Housekeeper and a younger staff from Spa Services last night in the Tropicana MDR - plenty of wine to go around, or distilled and sparkling water. Had a wonderful dinner conversation for & met fellow cruisers. News to share: next week's GA sailing is very, very full with 4,700 passengers expected - not a typo, going to be nearly maximum life boat capacity, double occupancy is just under 4,000. This sailing "only" has 3,900 pax and many of us already find it crowded & seeing long lines. Embarking as we disembark, be prepared.
  13. It depends on the way she's docking at each, we are port side Fwd on Deck 12 and that's been good so far, 5 stops ahead, however.
  14. The idea of "sneaking" food out back to the room, breaking some sort of rules, just not something we should not need to worry, or packing tea bags ... Got an idea, call not Room Services but wake up the butler at 1 am ... /s Not exactly the idea either.
  15. Docked, engines full stopped - securing lines @ 10:15 am. All abroad 6:15 pm. Perfect spot to look for pier runners from our balcony.
  16. Finished breakfast & left Savor at 9:55 am, back to watch our ship easing towards the pier for docking, beautiful day to go ashore. Google Fi got us covered, unlimited text & data here, it's H+ LTE signal, voice call at 20 cents a minute.
  17. None that we know of, at least they didn't page anyone over ship's PA system. Lunch time, they apparently did ask & 3 couples shared a larger round table next to us. Still there this morning in that side corridor with Inside cabins. Joined by housekeeping carts as steward begin to move their carts out. I am going to write a note to the GM. Good morning all. MDR breakfast getting busy at 9 am. Expected arrival is 11 am but should be sooner as we are about 30 nm from St. Kitts.
  18. I believe they are, not sure about adequate supply of cups, sugar, etc. if there are many owls around. Keep something like us, early morning or late night emergencies. I should check out how things are at O'Sheehan's late night or after a 9:30 pm show 🙄😳☹️
