It never says they are eliminating telephones. But yes, if you do not have access to the app you would have problem using the chat feature.

Not eliminating telephones, but they will push the chat....like many other companies'  cust service connections.

There are a few changes buried here:

    https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/Flyers/05_23_24_CAM_Update_Retreat_Creative-Consumer.pdf

It will be interesting to see how the Butler Chat works. That has been something mentioned for years and years.

so no personal tel no to call?   if one has  no cell phone or access to the app.. no chat?

some of the " enhancements"  are walk backs of cuts!

need for an excursion specialist would be nil if that dept functioned

    better and had more info..

I’m a little behind on updates! We had the perfect beach day in Curaco yesterday. We went to the Avila Beach Resort which was only $15 per person. That only includes access to the beach, pool, and chairs but that’s still a steal. Every chair you see was open for anyone to take and there were plenty to go around. Two ships in port also, but still pretty quiet. There were two beaches, one was choppier than the other. There was also a decently big pool but I did not get a picture.

We had lunch there and it was decently priced. If you pull up the menu online, everything in NAFL currency so about half the price in USD. This lunch of Dutch croquettes, fries, and coleslaw was $11 USD. Drinks weren’t horribly priced, but we passed on that.

If you’re into snorkeling, you can bring your own gear and there were some rocks and fish, but if that’s your main goal don’t go here.

The hotel is *technically* walking distance but that walk is 35-40 minutes from the ship to the hotel. It was very hot and I’m not sure I’d do it again. It’s about a 10 minute drive from port and about $20. On the walk over though we were able to the floating bridge go out and all the sites of downtown! So maybe walk there one way and taxi back.

Overall though incredibly solid day pass especially for the price. I’d go there again and also something else like the Mangrove Park. Since it’s only $15 USD I wouldn’t feel bad leaving after only a few hours.

Great photos.. we are considering a land based stay there.   looks great!

snorkeling is not our main focus anymore..

It is a different situation between your house and a cruise ship 😉

Also sliding glass shower doors are outdated now 😁

just build a new bathroom in the house and it had to be a hinged door

But if you wait long enough they will be back in style 🤣

our dtr just had  two bathrooms completely re done.  Used  a slider door in the  children's  bath along the tub edge...has nice towel bars.

Our aunt/ uncle, late 80's had a  glass slider in their condo on tub edge, but used a curtain in front of it..  said it was for added privacy and she liked how pretty the curtain looked! And could change the decor for a refresh.

In Fla, we have a walk in shower...no door or curtain needed just tile and  glass .. In guest suite..it's a pretty curtain with a sturdy liner .

BUT:  on Infinity we had a curtain..complete with mildew!  Ew...it was gross! (The whole shower needed bleach) We asked for curtain to be washed or replaced... downfall of older ships!

  5. There have been several recent  reviews with great photos, travel info  & commentary.(not precisely Vietnam).

If you search them out, it might be a great help..  One is linked in this thread.

This is a pic from a cabin that has a symbol for double sofa bed.  I always thought the drawer held a pad that was placed on top of the couch when made up as a bed.  Maybe so, but apparently it is also a trundle.  I would think it would make it difficult for the person on the couch part to get up to the bathroom…. EM

two  very narrow beds for sure.. the sofa itself is very uncomfy.. and low to the ground..  not sure adults could make this work!

We gone to the Gold Creek Salmon Bake every time we have been to Juneau. The first time the glaze was already on the fish, cooking on the wet Alderwood. The glaze had the caramelization from the cooked brown sugar. It has an awesome flavor. Now they spoon it over the fish. I’m sure it’s cooked the glaze, but I’d rather not see any granular sugar. I’m thinking that they are going thru so much glaze maybe not enough time for it to get hot enough. Here it is. We bought 3 packs and I will try my ingredients vs packaged. But if you don’t want to bother people get the glaze shipped all the time.

thank you very much!.. Guess I will have to pare it down quite a bit or use it as a guide.. but the glaze mix is their prorietary secret!  gives me good hints!

dh does not eat salmon but I ordered it all the time and make it whenever he's not  home!

On my recent silhouette Cruises, the porch and lawn grill were not open for lunch every day—you had to look in the program to see whether they were offering lunch that day or not. I don’t eat sushi, but my impression was the same for that restaurant: lunch was not offered every day.

tuscan offered lunch once or twice, with a smaller menu than dinner and a smaller price tag.

Neither Murano nor petite chef ever offered lunch

if you are interested in specialty dining, once or twice during the cruise, a special dinner was served at the sushi restaurant. It was called the Taj and it was a multicourse Indian feast.

Thank you.. we'll look in the daily

We have a short cruise,  but might try the sushi place..Seems the menu is mostly sushi oriented...not as  varied as Raw on 5 on E Class which we enjoy.  Lunch at the Porch might be fun..  Menu shows there are non seafood choices for my husb.

    (lobster allergy)

Point of taking the short cruise for us is to decide if we would enjoy

going back to S Class after sailing  several times on E Class.  Looks like a good choice

Sea days the MDR, buffet, Mast Grill and  Spa Cafe are open at lunch and are complimentary.  For a charge there is Sushi on 5, the Porch and Lawn Club Grill.

we have all.our dinner Specialty res booked,  but  see nothing for Porch, Sushi or LCG for lunch.. Do.we just walk in or make res after we board?

Do you think Tuscan would offer a lower cost  lunch?
