Respectfully disagree.  Grease is a sexist show that is disgustingly misogynist.  (I'm a male, by the way).  It is an exaggeration of life in the 50s and focuses on Sandy's surrender of her values to please a guy.  And no, we must use modern values to evaluate the past.  Otherwise, the mistakes of the past become meaningless.

Oh give me a break lol! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yup still looks like testing is where this is heading. No change.

Cruise ships are a densely populated congregated different then most on land settings.

People on here don't want to believe that but it is true.

That continues to be the CDC view on cruising.

Seems if you don't like how the cruiselines have been handling recently you better get used to it. No change.

Well better get used to the fact that change is coming really soon, now that is a fact! Time to get back to living normal again!

No but the first of the big three to get rid of precruise testing will be getting all my money until Carnival decides to wise up.

I have two cruises booked already, but my next cruise will be with whoever drops the theatrics.

Smart decisions based in reality will drive the market and decide which lines survive and which do not.

I'm fine if lines do or do not drop the vaccine reqyurement.

I do not care about anybody else's vaccine status

But the precruise testing clearly isn't working with how many people are coming home with covid after their cruise.

So having an ineffective tool that just places an added cost and time waste upon the cruiser is simply stupid.

Spot on, but that vaccine requirement needs to go bye bye already, enough is enough.

No, my kids loved going to camp and plan on spending a lot of time there and if 3 days after final payment, Carnival came out and said camp wouldn't happen, you're damn right we would be upset.  It has nothing to do with not wanting to parent, its getting what WE paid for.  How would you feel if the shows, Comedy club, bars, etc were not available after you paid for it expecting to go to those locations?  Yes, we can make different plans, but I would rather Carnival be upfront from the start and not keep saying it would be open.

    Exactly!

I am vaccinated and more than comfortable going on a ship that has unvaccinated people on it.  I think more than enough people are comfortable and ready to cruise again.  If you are not comfortable then you should not be going and choose another line that works for you.

Exactly, I feel the same way about this whole thing. It seems like some would be happy if the rules were never removed. If they are not comfortable they should cruise another line, it is as simple as that. As for me I'm good with it and will gladly be sailing with Royal.

Several people were saying those who don’t want a vaccine don’t have to cruise and can wait. It’s funny seeing the sides now reversed. Sadly, still no empathy. Wish would could just respect each other’s decisions, understand life always carries some risk, and move on.

-Vaxed but believe it should remain an unrestricted choice.

    Great post!

I’m currently booked on The Encore for Jan 16th 2022 but want to change it to Nov 14 2021. This will be the first cruise The Encore takes after Covid. Nov works better for us,plus we get to cruise sooner. Should I chance it? My concern isn’t so much having that cruise get cancelled like some of the others and having to re schedule,my concern is being the first Caribbean cruise for The Encore after Covid. I’m not sure I’m too keen being the guinea pig. Assuming of course,we still get to go on our own excursions. What say you?

I want to say keep the one you have because it just feels like the safe way to go, but if November works better then go for it. November is a beautiful time to cruise, great weather much better then January in my experience. wish you luck with your choice.

Good to know, since Del Rio's position was aimed squarely at the CDC'S onerous requirements.

The suggestion that Florida was the reason?  That's a media twist aimed directly at DeSantis.

The Florida rule/law has a very clear exception if the CDC decided to require vaccination.

Exactly! Glad to see others are seeing this.

Yup . No fan of the "special treatment" the CDC has smacked the cruise industry with but why is DeSantis only acting tough now . Why it's almost as if he was afraid of upsetting the previous administration . 🙄

At least he is trying to get something done which is more then you can say about those currently in charge.

You've done your own research and think that's a good choice for you.   Everyone needs to make their own risk assessment, and weigh the small risks against the benefits.  My assessment won't be the same as yours or anyone else's.  Some have no problems with the mRNA delivery and most are doing great with it.  Others are waiting for a more traditional delivery system, and that's their decision as well.  Still others have moral objections to vax developed with aborted fetuses.  And others are waiting for AZ or the Chinese one (forgot the name).  And others choose not to get it at all.

It boils down to respecting the right of each person to make their own choice regarding their own bodies.

Well said I agree  100 percent!

I also wonder how all cruises will be rescheduled. They have to get ships to home ports, whether Europe or America. No one really knows where ships will end up.  The  damn CDC needs to let’s us cruise again. We are adults & should be able to decide what we want to do without government telling us

I second that, enough is enough!
