I am also up for every port arrival. If I missed one I would be so annoyed with myself. Now, on the other hand, I don't think my brother has ever witnessed a port arrival. In fact, that could apply to everyone that I'm related to except my mother. Early mornings was always "our time" to spend together.
I was thinking cabins in general. I understand low suite numbers. However, general pricing right now is quite unattractive and refundable deposit supplements are, in many cases, eye popping. And I highly suspect that RCI is supporting these prices by holding back inventory.
I have said this all along. A cabin sold is a cabin sold. Why does it matter if you need to change the date or ship? I would be fine with non-refundable deposits as long as they came with some flexibility.
The option will eventually not exist for any reservations. RCI may find that it is cutting its own throat if people just start waiting until close in to book anything.
I thought that was supposed to be taken care of by making suite deposits non-refundable several years ago. I doubt that many people are booking just to hold a cabin and then forfeiting their money.
One thing I sure of is just as non-refundable deposits started with suites and moved to other categories, it is just a matter of time before this new deposit method does the same.
