  1. So this came to mind. What if you were not allowed to go to Mexico? I must make this clear. I do not have any warrant or wanted by any country. But what if you were sailing on a eastern itinerary and Royal changed it do to what ever. Would RCCL let you rebook or cancel without a penalty?

From the contract everyone agrees to when they book...

  2. You should get a refund if the port charges are cheaper. But Royal doesn't have to offer you any compensation...I'm pretty sure it's in your cruise contract that they can change the itinerary at will...especially when it comes to keeping you safe. We were on the Freedom for an Eastern in December. It was when the propeller needed to be removed. So, they switched our Eastern to Nassau, Cozumel, and Coco. VASTLY different than what we booked, but a great trip regardless...it will be what you make it.

  3. I wanted to find out how many other ships will be in the ports when we are there. The latest date I see is April 2016. We cruise in September 2016. Do you know when those dates will be posted?

I would do a search on a major search engine website whose name is now synonymous with "Internet search" and use the term "Cruise timetables". You may or may not be able to find schedules through 2017 for some of the ports...

  4. My compasses are in my suitcase in the back of my car so I don't remember the San Juan times (plus we were in the city for dinner). Here is the menu order for 7/19 sailing.

    Sunday: mojo

    Monday: saffron, formal

    Tuesday: sage

    Wednesday: pomodoro

    Thursday: pimiento

    Friday: jasmine, formal lobster

    Saturday: shiitake

Thanks for posting! I hope you had a great trip! :D

  5. I'm on the ship now... The captain is Holmes.

One more thing.... To the person that said we should be enjoying the cruise instead of standing in line trying to get a credit..... Maybe we should be enjoying the cruise rather than trying you inform "you guys" a little bit about what has been going on. Better yet, when the alarm sounded, we should have just logged onto cruise critic... A lot of you apparently could have told us what is going on.

Gotta log off now and go enjoy my cruise!

Thank you for answering my question and keeping the rest of us informed. I appreciate you taking the time out of your trip! I'd rather read the info coming directly from the ship rather than the armchair quarterbacks back here on land. I am glad everyone is safe and you got the extra added bonus of a (mostly) uninterrupted cruise. The Freedom and her staff is one of the best!

ENJOY the rest of your trip!!!!! :D make sure you're camera ready when you disembark on Sunday. I'd expect some news cameras in Canaveral when you get there...

  6. Can someone please confirm which captain is actually on the ship and when they will switch again? The Current Cruise Captains list shows Capt. Holmes just started his rotation, but people here are saying Capt. Olsen. Just trying to figure out which will be in charge when we sail next month...

Glad to hear everyone is ok!

  7. We book through a TA so they also came with a lot of perks.

Do you use an online TA or someone in your town? We are new to the world of TAs. Normally, we book ourselves through Royal. I just booked two through an online TA. I'm not feeling warm fuzzies with them yet. Just looking to see what other folks use (I know you can't list their name...) so I can find a TA that I want to use over and over again.

  8. To me, the real difference is that I can walk into town from Havensight, but not from Crown Bay. :)

Is this because there are no safe walkways from crown bay or is it just too far? We haven't docked there yet, but will be in April. We like to walk to town normally...

  9. Some of us have a hard time following instructions.

Seriously, we've sailed twice out of T1. Enchantment over Easter and Freedom last week. Both times were passenger vehicle drop offs. So here goes that procedure.

Pull in to parking garage look for drop off lane.

Give luggage to porter, ask for tags if you don't have them, tip him.

Walk into terminal, show sea pass

Go through security, show sea pass and appropriate govmt issued ID

    Take escalators to upper floor.

Get in appropriate line based on status or accommodation.

Check in and get key card

Go to appropriate waiting areas if boarding has not started.

Go on ship, wait till 1:00 or 1:30 for cabin to open.

It is really easier than any terminal I have cruised out of and I'm really not that prejudiced. Well maybe I am

Sometimes, there's no one there to direct OR they direct to the wrong line. We sailed on the Freedom when they were having engine issues in December. Boarding was VERY late and lines outside the building were horrendous. When we got to the terminal, they just grouped everyone in a line even when we asked where the Priority C&A line was to get into the terminal. Stood in the sun for an hour and a half waiting to get in the terminal and got burned before we even got on the ship. Finally made it around the corner and almost into the terminal when we saw the signs for the Priority entrance. Doh! Could have made it in much faster if they directed us correctly.

So...Is there a clearly marked Priority entrance to get in the new terminal?

  10. It's a shame they couldn't do better than 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM on San Juan on the 7-nighters. It's pretty much a wasted stop IMO. They should have reversed the itinerary - stop in Labadee first, then on to San Juan and St. Maarten. You would then get a 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM +/- in stop in San Juan instead of 7:00 to 2:00. Old San Juan has a vibrant night life.

What do you suggest at night in San Juan? We're on a 7-nighter in October and are in port from 4:00-11:00. Never been there that late before.

  11. Has anyone ever been upgraded from an aft balcony cabin or do they pretty much leave those alone since they are so coveted? We've got 1400 booked on the Indy in a few months. I am petrified that this will be the one and only time the Upgrade Fairy will visit us and I don't want her to. Lol! I've got my preferences set to no auto upgrades. Just wanted to see if anyone's heard of upgrades from the afts.

  12. Hi All

    Been a while

Rhapsody coming to an end for me almost 3 years had a blast here and created some great memories. Truly a great team on rhapsody and those you cherish.

I will be on Anthem on the 1st Sept and take over from Joff on the 15th Sept.

I am doing his vacation fill. I leave Nov 4th and fly to Explorer and bring that into Australia for the season

So a busy boy....hope to see some of you soon....

    Be well

    Graham x

    FYI

Anjazc is the incoming AM' date=' not replacing me as CD waiting to hear who is[/quote']

The Freedom just hasn't been the same without you!!! And I can't afford to fly to the side of the planet you have been cruising lately...:(

  13. Will do. Hoping that some kind soul on this itinerary in the next few months can post.

Someone who did an Indy review recently said on the third night the menu was not good. Third night is San Juan but this person was on Western and I have no idea if it's the same rotation.

Have a great trip! Not looking forward to the late night in San Juan...We much prefer an early day there. It should be an adventure...
