Yes, please share the name of the ship and location where they made you mojitos for free because of your C&A status.
Empress in Boleros. We sailed at the end of August.

We sailed on Empress last year and they don't have a lounge. They had a section of the MDR reserved for the Diamonds for breakfast. It was nice. One day, there were only 5 tables of folks up there with us. Dedicated waitstaff. Quiet. Not sure if all the ships do that or not.

And triple points if you are booked solo in a suite.
Unless it's the result of the Upsell Fairy, right? That's what I've recently been told and just want to confirm.

We've sailed in 1400 (corner aft) several times and have had no noise issues.

Hi all! ~ I'll chime in too :)
Although not "cruise themed" ...absolutely anything written by CARL HIAASEN. I have been on deck reading and on more than one occasion busted out in laughter. The guy has a great style. If you enjoy wit and humor......his books are for you. :)
Just google "Carl Hiaasen sample" and that will give you some insight regarding his style.
Safe travels to all! :)
Skinny Dip is somewhat cruise themed. The husband tosses the wife overboard. Quite a good book!

I don't know of a beach, but there is a lady who sits Darsenas Square (head to the left out of the pier and walk towards La Princesa) who sells handmade sea glass jewelry at very good prices. She is there when a ship is in port. You can find her on Facebook. Look for : Natimar - Sea Glass Jewelry.

So you're saying he's not coming back, or just off the ship for a while.
According to Drew himself, not coming back to the Freedom at all. :loudcry:

Is Drew Thomas still performing on a regular basis?Yes, last I heard.
Sadly, no. His last show was on the sailing before the crossing to Europe in April. We happened to be on that sailing and had no idea until we went to the second show. Had we known, we would have gone to both. They did not bring him back when the ship came back. We were on for the first 8 nighter in November and they had a lackluster magic show. I can't remember their names, but a husband and wife team.
(And I can't believe I know something Clarea doesn't know! ;p)

It is quite common for the first sailing after a TA to be delayed due to inspections and immigration clearance for the crew. I would heed their advice and show up at the suggested times.
It's not the first sailing after the TA. It will be the second. Freedom made it back last weekend and is currently doing a Western. Guess the Coast Guard didn't get the memo.

I'd rather have Freedom back; so miss her in PC.
Me too! :loudcry: I wonder how many signatures on a petition it would take to get her back...

The immigration process at the terminal in Havana cannot handle a ship that size. It's not like other Caribbean ports where you can just come and go from the ship as you please.

How quickly did the Customs lines move? I've heard mixed things.
Anyone knoe if they have added Global Entry to Tampa?
-
For those who have had Eaton deliver to the port, how did it work? We are in port from 12:30-7:00. Do we have them meet us at 1:00 and then again at maybe 6:00 to pick it up?

Same problem for us. Paid off the cruise two weeks ago and we were showing a negative balance for the amount of our excursions as of last night. Going to wait a few days before I call them.
-
They told us on the Freedom that most Easterns go to St Maarten because they get good fuel prices there.

Less than 10 minutes to re board. They stamp your passport on arrival but not departure. Not sure above fees. We converted 190 euros for 193 CUC's. Upon return, we converted 70 CUC's to roughly 64 US. Much better exchange rate for euro's. Also never had to show my passport when exchanging money.
Thanks!

One more thing...is there a charge when converting the money BACK to USD or whichever currency?

How long does it take to reboard the ship? Also, do they stamp your passport?
-
Just got back yesterday from being on the Freedom for 8 nights. By far, our favorite ship in the fleet. It was our 5th trip on her. We have another booked on her and will be booking a second eventually. I would book it in a heartbeat with no hesitations.

Rouston on the Navigator. Hands down. All around great human being.

Last real sale was May 2014.
I remember that sale well. And that was a darn good sale, too. We got a heck of a good price on our room. I'd rather they go back to a standard pricing structure with a real sale thrown in here or there.

Wait a minute, you mean to tell me they are not using a random number generator to set the base rate?
/only partially kidding
//I've never been in a position to need to worry about multiple discounts
No. They use Common Core.

Do they put everyone using Mobile Passport in the same line as those using Global Entry?

What about tolls? I saw something about the passenger being responsible for tolls...
