  1. Hi Radio,

I am glued to my computer reading your wonderful review and looking at your beautiful photos! Thank you so much for taking the time to do it!

Have you heard of or seen a special breakfast area in the MDR for D+ (and higher I guess) members where they serve specialty coffees for free? I have heard of this on other RCL ships, but have never seen it and don't know if Allure has it.

Thank you in advance, and if you don't find out, don't worry, I know you are very busy!

I love your positive attitude and love of life and crusing that you share with us!

    Barbara

Barbara - since you are D+ there is a lovely breakfast and a lunch served up in the Concierge Lounge. It is a selective menu, but wonderful. They will serve specialty coffees, juice, etc and at lunch you can even ask for a beer or a glass of wine.:)

  2. Just to make sure I read some stuff right -

If I were to convert my NextCruise to an actual cruise tomorrow, would I have to put money towards it immediately? Minus the $200 I have already put down? ($100 per head)

What is the deposit for a 7 night cruise?

Yes, you would have to pay the remainder of the deposit. For a 7 night cruise, it is $250 pp. So you would owe an additional $300 tomorrow if you booked a 7 night cruise using your NC.

  3. Were certain members compelled to go to the alternate and not issued keys to the CL? Not concerned about the drinks at night, it is just that we are steps away from the CL and it would be great in the a.m.

Thanks for the good wishes for this week. Looking like we'll have a great time on Jewel!

    Rick and Deirdra

I believe that the CL was open in the mornings on Deck 7 (I think it was), but in the evening the cocktail hour was on Deck 13. I know one morning I went to the CL-Deck 7 and she was in there and there was only one gentleman in there using the computer. If I remember correctly, there was continental breakfast items. My DH got a latte while Andrea was printing our boarding passes.

  4. Cruzinmimi . . .

How large was the D, D+ crowd? Did they open a second area or was the CL enuf for everyone? We are on the 1/6/08 sailing. Thanks.

    Rickand Deirdra

Rick & Deirdra - so sorry I didn't see this earlier. They opened up the Hollywood Odyssey-Deck 13 for all the D/D+ members. The CL would not hold us. We had over 200 D/D+ members on our sailing.

I hope you will check this before you guys sail tomorrow. Enjoy your cruise & the Jewel.:)

  5. We just got off the 8 day Jewel cruise. What can I say, the ship is very beautiful. The solarium is like being in a jungle. What an experience.

FOOD - this is such a touchy topic, but here goes my opinion only. The windjammer has plenty of selection. I found the omelets to be great and I also like the oatmeal - and yes, they have brown sugar and walnuts or almonds to put in your oatmeal. The dining room has a variety of things also. My favorite meal on the ship was at Chops. OMG:eek: -to die for!!!

BAND - the live music around the ship was the best. Especially in the Centrium. The pool band was just okay for me. (again JMO). When the pool band was not playing, I really enjoyed the music they had playing outside.

We had a balcony cabin and it was very elegant - I liked the decor better than any other ship I've been on (20 rcl cruises).

You will have a blast. Oh, I forgot to mention the seaview cafe - fantastic!!!

  6. Linda, the Transfer Form would have to have been sent to RCI in order for them to transfer the NextCruise booking to your TA.

If you make a NextCruise Booking while on a ship and do not specify a particular TA, then that booking is held by RCI. If you decide to transfer from RCI to a TA, then you get the Transfer Forms (most TA's have them) fill out the information and either send or fax to RCI at the number shown.

Once this form is received by the Transfer Team, it will then be sent to the TA designated.

Yeah - I thought that is what I said:confused: If not, it is what I meant!

  7. Patti,

Thanks for posting your letter from RCI. I think I understand the process, but have one question. At the present time I have a booking that I had on board the Brilliance in Jan 2007. I changed my booking to the Polar Bear cruise and had to cancel that and change it to a May 2009 Alaska cruise. They transferred my OBC to my new cruise as I kept the original booking number.

Do you know if you book your New Cruise, then book pick your date, and have to cancel that cruise for some reason and book a later one, will they still give you credit for the deposit and keep the OBC if you keep the same booking number? Not sure if you are following me, but I am just wondering if it works the same way as it has in the past. Keep your booking number and your deposit and OBC follow you.

As long as you keep your original booking number, your OBC will follow you.
