  1. I am curious to see if others speak with Princess reps and are told something similar. And maybe at some point, we'll get an official press release. Not only regarding the February 18th sailing, but explaining what 'technical issues' the ship is experiencing and the timeline for the ship to be ready for paying passengers. It would be unfortunate for them to cancel additional sailings last-minute.
  2. You figure at this point, that announcement was sent out to the guests on the February 18th sailing a couple hours ago. Meanwhile, on the Princess travel agent portal, they still showing the sailing as 'active'. It just shows each cabin category as having waitlist availability only, as it has for weeks now. If you produce an announcement cancelling a sailing, maybe pull it off the booking portal as well? Again, points toward all of this being a knee-jerk reaction. I'm booked on the March 19th sailing, I was confident in it going, up until this February 18th cancellation announcement was made.
  3. For those of you that follow social media, very interested to see what the crew posts today/tomorrow! Based on the few crew posts we recently came across, it’s safe to assume they thought they were as close to sailing, as we thought.
  4. I completely understand the inherit risk of booking inaugural sailings. But not one, TWO short notice cancellations.. ouch. The tailend of this ship build clearly did not go even close to their scheduled timeline. Even if they had buffers built-in.
  5. I find it incredible that these social media posts are the only ‘updates’ we are receiving lol.
  6. We should ask him to define 'shine'. We want to read 'It's time to GO' lol.
  7. We are sailing on the March 19-29 departure. We have been able to make dining reservations for quite some time now.
  8. Looks like Scarlet Lady is visiting Bimini today (2/3) instead of 2/6. Wondering if it has to do with the forecasted weather across Florida and the Bahamas in the coming days. Looks like squally weather to come with gusty winds for several days. Nonetheless, nice if VV has the flexibility to adjust the itinerary like this to provide the guests as good of an experience as possible. If they still plan to visit Puerto Plata, it would have to be on 2/5 now, originally scheduled for 2/4.
  9. Looks like Mardi Gras may have diverted to Nassau yesterday (possibly for medical?). Nonetheless, it's running a bit behind back to Port Canaveral this morning. ETA 08:30L.
  10. We just watched the Seaside arrival into Pt Canaveral approx 3 hours late. They had tug boats assisting in the port for docking. The engine issues much be persisting.
  11. Yep! It was neat to see it docked there, very close to Jetty Park. Pt Canaveral was supposed to host fireworks at 9pm last night. Oasis was scheduled to leave at 9pm. I think that’s the reason for the altered docking location.
  12. For the past month or two, the Oasis of the Seas has been visiting Pt Canaveral on Sundays, the same day the Wonder of the Seas is in port. Today’s docking location for the Oasis created a unique photo opportunity for when the Wonder just sailed out. I thought I’d share. Happy Cruising!
  13. Hey all, unfortunately in this case, no news was bad news. Exhausted all efforts, really did, I guess it was too little too late! Again my fault, but no passport in hand for the ship’s departure tomorrow. Lost cause. 😔 I appreciate everyone’s time, efforts, and advice! Thank you
  14. Only issue we're running into is Miami does not have appointments, from what I can see. Since I need it before this upcoming Friday. Only office that shows appointments available is Denver. May have to make a pitstop in Denver on my way to Vancouver.
  15. I will certainly keep everyone posted! Thank you again Also, curious if anyone else has had similar experiences in the past (I hope not) and how it played out.
  16. I appreciate everyone's insight and advice, thank you 😊 👍
  17. Correct, original plans were to fly to Vancouver. If I chose to go to Ketchikan it would be via Seattle. I do not have a NEXUS card.
  18. Not literally, but more of trying to plan ahead in case my passport does not arrive in the next 5 days. Please bare with me here. I sent away to get my USA passport renewed (quite awhile ago), since we are booked on a northbound one-way Alaska cruise from Vancouver to Whittier. I have yet to receive my passport back and embarkation day is quickly approaching. I am in a bind, and don't know what to do. One thought I had is missing embarkation in Vancouver, and catching up with the ship at the first USA port of call (Ketchikan). Vancouver's Canada Place cruise terminal states you go through US Customs boarding the ship since you are in US territory for the remainder of the cruise after departing Vancouver. You would think I would be able to board from the first USA port of call with a driver's license, original birth certificate? Not looking for criticism here, just others' thoughts maybe based on their own experiences. I don't have travel insurance, I know I am at fault, I'm just trying to not lose out on a couple thousand dollars and enjoy some of the cruise. If you have ANY advice, please share. Thank you...
  19. It’s been quite awhile since I have sailed Carnival. Heading out on Mardi Gras this Saturday! Do VIFP Platinum members receive any discounts or offers once onboard? Thinking for Wifi, drinks, casino, etc… thanks!
  20. It will next week after we spring ahead. 20:00 Zulu currently equals 14:00 local or 2pm.
  21. CruiseMapper typically shows times in Zulu, from my experience.
  22. We thought the same thing. We live right by Port Canaveral and we’re hoping to watch them sail in today. They often pick up supplies while docked here so I wonder if they do dock this afternoon for a couple hours if it’ll just be for that?
