  1. Hi can you tell me if my curling tongues and or hair straighteners will work on epic, we are from uk.

I have used them on PO ship and also other ships but last year on princess ship they wouldn't work, would really like to be able to use them, by the way I was using plug adaptor with them.

    Thank you

  2. Hi we are going on epic in March and have

UBP will we be able to get diet Sprite on the package?

Also we are in mini suite will we get robes and body lotion?

    Thank you

  3. Eager to read your review as we were on same cruise in a deck 13 balcony cabin. We hated the ship (and that is not an overstatement). Worst ship we have ever been on in 37 cruises. Too large, too many loud people, very badly designed cabins. However food and entertainment were excellent and the free drinks package was good. Staff and service were good with the exception of staff on reception. Our steward was great and provided nightly towel animals which was amusing. We enjoyed the cruise and itinerary but not the ship.

Hi we are on this cruise in March on deck 13 mini suite any tips as you were on deck 13, re that deck or anything else? Thank you

  4. I don't think trinitytrees was talking about an NCL cruise. I'm guessing they were on the Island Princess last July. The details of this rescue can be found by searching CC and the rest of the internet, you can probably find an account that spins the story in a way that satisfies you.

Yes you are right it was Island princess. Maritime law dictates that ships have to go to aid of others in distress. Our ship was nearest vessel, I watched the boat being rescued in the middle of night. The refugees were taken to deck 8 at front of ship were given food medical attention, the ship had to divert to mainland Greece it took most of next day for Greek authorities to process refugees with Red Cross In assistance. More can be found in press release etc. Seeing children, pregnant ladies, families being escorted off the cruise ships reminded me how LUCKY I was, not to see Istanbul was a consequence of that rescue, I would have not wanted it any other way.

  5. Cancellations of ports happens, we cruised once in August in England. A wind got up and we failed to dock in Folye sailed onto Lisbon only to have that cancelled due to Fog, in August! disappointing yes, necessary to cancel for safety reasons absolute yes.

On our last cruise we were heading for Istanbul, a port I have Never done, only to have the ship diverted to rescue refugees who were stranded in a yacht, meant to hold 25 there were 121people on board, we missed Istanbul but saved lives potentially.

I was ashamed to here the complaints of some passengers, yes be disappointed, we were too. but I hadn't expected the lack of understanding of saving those lives especially the small children.

  6. I was pleased to see this thread, i felt not alone in my recent thinking. I loved our first cruise on princess as I thought level of entertainment was fantastic, we later did RCI cruise and was so disappointed that most entertainment was passenger related ie game show, karaoke etc however on a recent princess cruise my was I surprised to see the drop in professional entertainment, short 23 min production show, lots more "passenger interaction" quiz, game show etc

Although one singer very good on the pop show knockout type thing, the pain of some passenger vocals was too much.

    Not for me thank you

  7. I had issue with something I had prepaid on recent princess cruise, in my opinion it could have been resolved easily, however people who dealt with me at front desk made it worse, I felt even more irritated by the response than by the initial issue....it was never fully resolved and did colour my opinion of princess sadly.

How an issue is responded to is always important......it's how you are left feeling that you tend to remember rather than what is said.....

Good luck in your resolution of this.

  8. I have a few questions about the Island Princess and just thought I'd unload them in one place. If anyone can answer one or more, I'd appreciate it. (If anyone else has questions and wants to piggy-back on this thread, be my guest.)

    1. I've only seen one person say "On the Bayou" is still being done even though the refit scotched the Universe Lounge. Can anyone else confirm this? Where do they perform it now? Is the show still as good?

    2. Is there easy access to open areas at the bow for viewing canal transits and such? We have a forward Caribe cabin and were looking forward to watching some of the action from there, but I was recently on the Crown and found a viewing area I thought we could visit was marked "crew only."

    3. The Island Princess does have a coffee bar/barista setup, right? Someone on a recent post was complaining about the lack of an International Café as if it meant no coffee bar.

    4. It looks like there only two real pools (plus the "splash pool" up front). Is either one an adults-only pool? Do they have nicer lounges there?

    5. The Horizon Court looks pretty small. Does it seem adequate for the number of people on board?

    Thanks in advance.

    Jim

On the bayou performed in theatre.

    2. We just giot off island cruise ended on 21st July we had mini suite on Caribe deck and had lovely views on the open deck as we sailed out of Venice. The area was sealed off a day later as the ship rescued 117 Syrians in distress and out them on the open deck area. They got off ship day later.

3.there is a coffee bar but there is no IC

4.there is no adults only pool, there is one covered pool and one open pool plus small splash pool. There was a shortage of sunloungers in all areas on sea days on our cruise.

5, horizon court is small and sometimes it got busy, but always managed to get table....and food!

    Hope that helps.

  9. Just got off ship yesterday never been on island before our cabin was forward cabin but definite vibration felt in explorers lounge and spoke to someone staying in aft cabin and she said vibration was bad, personally I didn't like how you couldn't walk all around ship on promenade deck and nothing aft you could sit and watch wake. It looks very ugly from back in my opinion.

  10. Just got off island princess ship yesterday, Venice to Barcelona, we are having 2 days in Barcelona, but everyone had to be off ship by 10.30 and out of cabin BY 8am that is normal on all cruises we have done. I heard some people say their flight wasn't until 10.30 pm they had to keep luggage with them in Barcelona or leave in luggage area on Port but then you have to pay for taxi birth from and back to,port to get luggage. I suspect same in Rome except I'm not sure if cittiveca has luggage store.

  11. Wendy, so glad to hear you enjoyed Athens but sorry disappointed with hoho bus, I will bear in mind when we get there. The news of problem on ship appearing to be repaired is fantastic news, I hope that your journey and cruise are fabulous and you enjoy.

So grateful to you for the live updates. Bon voyage

We fly out very early in morning :):)

  12. We promise to take good care of the ship in the few days before you board. Safe travels.

We are on a hoho bus in Athens using the bus wifi. No demonstrations or unrest so far. Multiple journalists standing around, though. Maybe between tourists and journalists the economy might benefit a bit.

Aw bless you such kind words, and typing whilst touring on sightseeing bus you are a star, enjoy the rest of your cruise and you to safe and a

    very pleasant journeying.
