  1. We were on the Dawn last week in a suite. I tend to give the butler more since he/she does more for us. On this cruise we had the best butler ever (Dominic). we did $10 per day, per person, for the concierge and $18 per day, pp, for butler. He did a number of meals, brought us crazy amounts of snacks, chased down bottles of wine and other requests to earn his tip. He really pampered us.

In the end it is how much you feel each is worth when your cruise ends. How much did they add to your enjoyment.

    Happy sailing!

We had Dominic on our cruise, he was the BEST BUTLER EVER!!

  2. I called and got an upset yesterday too. I am on the Getaway that leaves Sunday. I upsold to a Haven courtyard penthouse room from a guaranteed balcony. Last week when I called it was $500 pp, yesterday it was $300pp; I couldn't pass it up. I thought about surprising my bf, it's both of our bdays; but I was so excited I couldn't keep it to myself.

    Have a great cruise!!

  3. I'm so excited! We are going on the NCL Jewel in 14 days and I called the upsell department yesterday and no offers were available. I tried today and they had 2 offers! I took the suite instead of the haven 2 bedroom! I'm not telling my bf until we arrive at the pier!

Congratulations!! That is so cool!! I surprised my husband with an upsell to the deluxe owners suite in May!!

  4. I have gone jet skiing in Bermuda and at Great Stirrup Cay, the jet skiing at GSC was much faster. There isn't much of a no wake zone. There was more to see jet skiing in Bermuda, they take you to a litte tiny island to swim and they take you to a shipwreck.

I have gone swimming with the dolphins in Bermuda, its right at the Dockyard, and you can book it on your own to save $$$.

  5. First time in a suite. Just wondering what some of the things you have asked the Butler to do for you? Also I'm aware as a suite perk we get afternoon treats. Just wondering some of the treats you relieved were? Would it be ok to make a list of things we like and give it to the butler on arrival? Example anything chocolate but no seafood items. We are in suite 11060 cruising 10/07/2016

The butlers will also deliver and set up in suite meals for you. We have only done this with breakfast, he will come and put down a table cloth and set up the food, he doesn't actually serve you.

I asked the butler for gummy bears (to soak in rum, lol) and he brought them to me. He also brought me cream for my coffee (I hate the small individual creamers). I told him to skip the small canapés that they bring, told him I would prefer sandwich quarters, which he brought. We were in a deluxe owners suite which came with three bottles of alcohol, I asked him to switch out one bottle which he did with no problem.

If your butlers name is Dominic, then you have one of the best!!

  7. Agreed! We LOVED Hanno. He was incredibly available and took great care of us. Patrick was the Concierge in November. I think he may have been new to being in that role. He struggled with follow up with us and had a hard time juggling our reservation changes. He made a few mistakes, which happens, but it was how he handled it that bothered us the most. I never really realized the importance of having a good concierge until we didn't have one. :)

Oh Patrick!! I forgot about him!! We really didn't have any particular requests for him. The one thing I do remember was when he brought us down to tender in Belize, he just left ditched us there, every other concierge has made sure we all got into line without being cursed at, lol.....He was able to secure two more excursion tickets even though it was listed as sold out. It was for Maya Key, so it wasn't a big deal to have 2 extra people along...

  8. Priority embarkation and dis-embarkation

    Priority tendering

    Breakfast and Lunch at Cagney's

Butler will bring you afternoon snacks

Butler will set up in room dining

    Concierge

Bottle of sparking wine in the suite

Try doing a search, this is what I came up with off the top of my head, but there are lists of perks.

  9. I really don't think the boarding would be an issue. At Cagneys breakfast and lunch they only swipe one card, it shows on their screen how many people are in the suite, not who is in it. It got to be a joke with them, I was usually alone at breakfast. And I think I only had lunch in their twice on my last cruise and that was a 10 day cruise.

  10. This is definitely a case where I would ask multiple PCCs or ask for a supervisor. Not with this particular issue - but with other "rules"-type issues, I have frequently gotten different responses from different PCCs. (Even within CAS, "rules" are different depending who you speak to!)

They all mean well, but not every one knows every thing.

    Good luck!

Not sure if it would matter what the PCC says, wouldn't it be up to the concierge on the ship? I asked my PCC and he said that the suite perks would only be given to the guests in the suite, but if we wanted to bring the kids (18, 20 and 20) from the mini-suite, we could ask the concierge. (was never an issue, the kids never wanted to join us for breakfast or lunch, they preferred the buffet, LOL, kids.....)

  11. We had 5 in an SC. My husband and I in the master BR, my dad (he was about 79) on the couch that converted to a bed and the kids in the small bedroom.

The following year we had four of us in the SC and 3 kids in the adjoining mini. The kids that were in the adjoining mini were able to embark and dis-embark with us. (they were all under 21). My husband and the kids didn't really like getting up and going to breakfast at Cagney's so it was just usually me. One day my step son came with me to lunch in Cagney's, they only took one room card, and scanned it to see how many were in the suite.

  12. Hey Pathubia - Our sailing (11/27) was also assigned the "Deck 9 Lounge" for our M&G, and I was told it will hold up to 30 guests. If we exceed 30 (which will happen - we're at 29), they'll move us to another venue. I've seen other groups assigned to the Mojito Bar and Los Lobos.

The updated cruise deck plans just show "Lounge" in that area on deck 9, where the internet cafe used to be. But I don't see any other indication of an internet cafe anywhere else on the ship.

I'm wondering if internet services is somehow handled at guest services down on deck 7. Now that I think about it, I thought I saw a re-purposing of that small gift shop on deck 7 near guest services - I wonder if this is now the internet desk?

Thanks, Dougout!! Ours is at 30 now and will probably go up too!! It would be nice if it gets moved to Los Lobos, I cant wait to check it out!!

  13. We were in a DOS on the Dawn in May and the butler replenished the soda and bottled water every day. The only soda we requested was pepsi and sierra mist. I told him he could take the rest away. The butler also brought me in cream for my coffee everyday (I don't like the creamers that they leave in the room). I didn't request that, he saw me with a cup of cream from the buffet one day and he said he would get it for me for the rest of the cruise and he did.
