  1. Good review and I'm pleased that after all your 'difficulties' everything worked out just fine.

Food is a very subjective matter, after all what one person likes (mushrooms) another one (daughter) hates with a passion!!!  I would reluctantly agree that the MDR can be hit or miss.  I have found that lately lots of red meat/chicken dishes have some sort of pork added and as I don't eat pork.....Yes, before someone says something, I know that I can request no pork, but sometimes it is not possible.  I'm also one of a rare breed who actually likes the buffet!! We tend to go there for breakfast because you can guarantee hot toast and lots of smoked salmon 🤣

  2. We have an overnight stay in August but don't know where we will be docked (Queen Anne).  Whilst we have the days sorted, I'm not sure what to do in the evening.  We are a party of 3, 2 of us are senior citizens and we are travelling with our adult daughter.  As rides do not appeal to any of us, I'm thinking that the Tivoli Gardens may be a waste of time?

What other activities would you suggest?  My hubby and myself are sadly not quite as mobile as we used to be, but can manage a walk (so long as no one is in a hurry!🤣).

    Really looking forward to visiting.

  3. So how does it work? Do we mention it as soon as we arrive at the terminal  or do we carry on as normal?  I should also point out that whilst DH has his stick with him, I usually fold mine up and pack it in the hand luggage as it's one less thing to cope with along with a handbag and briefly a large suitcase.  I can use the hand luggage for support if necessary!

Maybe I need to keep it out?

  4. Just paid for our upcoming cruise on the Queen Anne (yay) and notice that on the revised booking form it states that we have (on embarkation, not clear if also for disembarking) 121 Emergency Assistance.  We both use walking sticks but can manage on our own. We filled in the new required form stating that we didn't need help.  I'm not sure what this Assistance means.  We are also travelling with our adult daughter who did not need to fill in the form. I'm assuming that she will still be able to accompany us  - she's in the same cabin and has gold status: We are platinum.

    Thanks.

Here's a webcam capture showing a Cunard ship arriving at a port we haven't seen yet. The port city itself is just a few miles off to the left while the cruise terminal is only about a mile out of view to the right.

If I've done my search correctly (still learning!) I think this maybe Jeju Island, South Korea.  If it isn't, then it's back to the drawing board 🤣

Thanks @babs135.  As @bluemarble indicates, your photo is the Dalian art gallery.   Looks like winter from the people's clothes.

I went to Dalian frequently in a past work life.  Winter was very cold in contrast to summertime Australia.

It is indeed Dalian and we were on the way to Russian Street.  Taken in February some years ago, it was bitterly cold with snow on the ground in some places.  Some of the Californians on the cruise had never seen snow before and were quite excited - however they did not like the cold!!

  7. As it was mentioned that we could use a photo of a port city here's my offering.  The port itself was rather dreary, although it was some time ago and hopefully is now better.  This is just a walk away.

The top picture looks very much like a photo I took from a non-Cunard ship at anchor in Cabo San Lucas while on a Panama Canal transit (Los Angeles to Miami…or was it Fort Lauderdale? Been a few years).

    You are indeed correct.

  9. Phew, what a relief it appears to have been sorted.  Should never have happened in the first place of course.  And as others have said, I would be having a word with your travel agent and asking them that an apology from Cunard for the stress they caused should be in the form of either a meal in one of the alternative dining rooms and perhaps they could kindly throw in some on board credit as well.

Please let us know how the cruise went and whether you'd be happy to sail with Cunard again! And of course, happy honeymoon.

Anyway, it was a roundabout way to get there, but I think this one is Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.

You are correct. Taken in 2011. I'll have to look for something a bit harder!
