  1. Just upgraded 2 days ago from an interior to a guarantee balcony for $12 total. Couldn't pass it up. Got our room assignment today:

     

    Date: January 4, 2015

    Ship: Dream

    Class of Guarantee: Balcony

    Cabin Assigned: 8D Verandah mid ship-room 8349

    Date Assigned: 12/2/2014 (33 days out)

     

    Very excited with the result. Cant wait to tell the kids now! Hoping I can wait until we board!!

  2. Looking for a Marriott hotel pre cruise for just one night where we can park our cars for free. Is there such a thing? My son is in a wheelchair so my plan is to drive the rest of the party to the port and drop them off then take the car back to the hotel and take a taxi from there. Shuttle service would be nice but not necessary.

  3. I absolutely loved Roatan. I went there in January with DH. We did a Victor Bodden tour. I loved it so much I did the exact same tour in March when I took my kids. The island had beautiful beaches you just needed to know where to go. Also really enjoyed the monkeys! And at $35PP for the whole day which included a private tour guide. Well worth the $$$. Hopefully you get to go back there one day and really see the island.

  4. Well darn. That's what I was afraid of (but hoping not to hear :p).

     

    Anyone wanna lend me one for say 52 days, 9 hours, 5 minutes and 47 seconds? :D

     

    I have one I just bought last week on our cruise. Are you willing to buy that one from me and on your next cruise you can buy one and I will buy it from you?

  5. I have made 3 changes since booking and always get a new invoice/ statement. My prepaid gratuities do not show up there.

    They show up on a separate set of amenities with things like the birthday decorations and the gift obc that we always have the dogs send our kids.

     

    All that shows up on my new booking statements are my ncl obc, final payment due and payment made along with whatever change that I made.

     

    I have to go to the amenities list to find my prepaid dsc

    They never mail me this list unless I request it, the booking invoice, however, I get when I make a suite change.

  6. I have done many upgrades or cabin changes.

     

    Every single time they send me a new invoice showing the cost. Did the OP not get one?

     

    Yes they did send us a new invoice. We looked it over but didnt even think about checking to make sure the gratuities were still included. Definitely lesson learned. We had a copy of our new invoice but now the old one. They said it still wouldn't of mattered if we did. there was nothing they could do on board.

  7. Actually, I'm confused. You looked at your final bill on the cruise or before you cruised?

     

    When I had called to apply the kids sail free promo something happened with my reservation and the obc that I had purchased through ncl was no longer showing up, about a week later I noticed it was refunded back to my debit card. Have you checked you credit card you used to pay dsc? If it has not been refunded you could dispute claim with your credit card.....

     

    It was noted on our final bill. I didnt think about looking at my credit card statement. Will have to do that when I get home.

  8. First off let me say we had an amazing trip. Just got off the Dawn and cant wait to return.

     

    We booked 2 rooms and pre-payed our gratuities. 4 days before our cruise we called to see about upgrading one of the rooms to a mini suite. We were told it would be $178.Xx per person. We decided to go for it. We found out after looking at our final bill that they had removed the gratuities and added them to the cost of the cruise. So the upgrade was really $252.Xx. We wouldn't of done it for that price. We have 4 people in that room so over $1000 total.

     

    They said nothing could be done on board. We would have to contact someone after we got off the ship.

     

    What would you do? I always have said I would never remove gratuities. But I also don't want to pay them twice.

  9. Unfortunately moving persons from already paid cabins to a completely new one is considered cancelling them from original cabins and normal cancellation rules and penalties apply even when the total price would be the same with the third cabin added, sorry.

     

    You can of course try and ask but from what I've read, they haven't budged with changes like these.

     

    Thanks for your reply! I figured that was the answer. I have having mixed thoughts deciding what to do. Our current cabin is on the 11th floor and we are right beside my mom and sisters. It is an inside 1A. We can upgrate to a partially obstructed view on deck 8. My mom and sisters would be on the other side of the dining room. That is not a huge deal though I guess. I was thinking being on the 11th floor would be better though.

     

    Thoughts anyone?

  10. We are sailing on the Dawn in March. Super excied and can't wait:D We booked a 1A and with these crazy price drops we can upgrade to an obstructed view without charge. We could actually upgrade to a higher category but my so is in a wheelchair and that is all they have in handicapped rooms available. Unfortunately they don't have any balcony rooms available for 4 people at all.

     

    There are a total of 8 of us going taking up 2 rooms. Do you know if we can upgrade and change it to 3 rooms instead of 2? The price would not be different at all. I know I can call just thought I would see if anyone knew here.

  11. Thanks for the great review! We are doing these exact ports in March except we are leaving from Tampa. I have a few questions I hope you can help me with. My son is in a wheelchair and I notice Belize is a tender. Is that the only port that is a tender? It stinks but they will not let him off the ship on a tender. I understand it's a safety thing but it still stinks. (not complaining really just saying).

     

    Also, we were hoping to go to one of the beaches in Costa Maya. Did you see any way that we could transport him? He has to stay in his wheelchair. If there is no way to transport him we will probably just hang out at the pool by the pier. The last time we were there though the venders were so pushy they took the fun out of everything. Also, any ideas in Cozumel? In Roatan we are doing a Victor Bodden tour. DH and I were at that port last December and had a great time on that tour. Victor told me he has an 8 passenger van that we can get his wheelchair in so I am super excited.

  12. If you see prices went down before you make your final payment, will NCL give you the lower price or just an on board credit? I'd rather the price adjustment but just wondering. Thanks!

     

    If it's before final payment they will give you a price adjustment! I think I got 2 on my cruise I will be taking in March! Love price drops:)
