Have stayed in a 4J twice and really enjoyed it. I did not have a problem with hearing the door slam and I am a very light sleeper. The thing to know is when you go out during the day you look in and can't see anything. So you think you can't see thru it. But that is definitely not the case at night. Totally see thru!!

Has anyone had this issue - being charged after the cruise for a towel that you supposedly took and didn't return?
That is what I saw just now - a charge for what amounts to $22 on my credit card. When leaving the ship the statement had a credit balance.
It's not a huge deal and I am sure they will remove it - especially since I don't have any of their towels. I emailed them / will call them.
However, how often does this occur and people get charged without even knowing about it?
Carnival towel checkout / check in system is horrible. It was all on paper with one poor worker trying to do that + 100 other tasks on the Lido deck.
With us, we only checked out 2 towels throughout entire cruise on Lido and checked them back in - again its all on paper...
All other blue towels were brought to the room without us even asking for them and if we used them they were all brought back and left there.
It happened to us on our last cruise also. Got charged for 2 towels. I called and they did credit me for the towels. Makes you wonder how many people get charged and don't realize it. Guess this kind of thing happens, but should definitely not be the norm.

What would cause his to be lower?
They offer people different offers. I also check everyones # before I book. There is almost always a difference.

It looks Like I am through every quiz?
Do they update daily?
Is there a location for the new quizzes?
I have started taking the quizzes in Spanish. Those are towards the bottom of the page. No, I have no idea what it says but you do not have to do well on the quiz to earn points. They do not have as many but I have still been able to get a few thousand points.

OP never said he was traveling with anyone else, so the 3rd person might be mute. If it is just the OP and his daughter, she would be full fare
He did say we want to take her on one so I would say it would not only be him and his daughter.

Wait a second... I thought you could only take advantage of price drops that happen within 48 hours of booking? Is that not the case?
It depends on how you booked. You can get a price drop if you book early saver up to 2 business days prior to your cruise. They have penalties though if you book early saver and need to cancel so be careful.

We need more 3 and 4 person, fully accessible, handicap rooms in general. My son is in a wheelchair. If its just DH and I along with out son we don't want or need 2 rooms. Same goes when our daughter goes.

I'm really surprised at the people who have not been impressed at lunch.
I have eaten here multiple times on the Dream, the Breeze, and the Magic and it is my favorite place to eat!! Love the shrimp pasta with aldredo sauce:) Yum!! Much better than OG IMO.
Give it a try. If you don't like it you can go to the buffet.

Thanks so much everyone for the replies. Will definitely check out the insurance forum. We booked on the 20th so want to make sure we get this set up before the pre existing deadline.

We just booked a cruise for next year and I want to get travel insurance. I know a good place to go and get it (not sure I can post it here) but with there being so many options I want to know what everyone else finds important to include.
I definitely want evacuation insurance (my mother had a heart attack in Cancun a few years ago and did not have it) but beyond that what is a must have. My son has special needs and has complex medical issues but he loves to cruise so I will continue to take him but want to make sure I don't forget something important.
Thanks,
Donna

I have stayed with 5 in a room before. Of course we were crammed but who cares!! We are on a cruise. There are many places to go to get away. I think part of it is the attitude you go in with. If you know you are going to be too cramped and have a horrible time you are very likely to.
Go and have a great time!! Find a quiet place by yourself if you need it.

My daughter has taken a friend on 4 different cruises and we made sure to get a notarized permission letter from the parents and insurance cards. Not once did we get asked for them. I made sure we had them just in case but not a word was said about it.
Enjoy your first cruise!! I know my daughter always had a better time when she took someone with her and we didn't feel like we had to entertain her the whole time.

Am I SOL? It went down $200.00. We upgraded our room after our final payment.
It depends on how you booked. Did you book early saver?

What was the AARP discount?
$90 for a $100 gift card or $450 for a $500.
Really adds up!

We just stayed in a 4J last week. Great location if you don't mind walking to the front of the ship. We did stay in a handicapped cabin so not sure how much that differs compared to a regular cabin but our window was huge. I will also agree with the previous poster who warned about closing the windows at night. We were out during the day and you couldn't see in the window at all even if you tried to. At night you can see everything.

We just cruised out of there last week and parked at Fulton Parking Garage. If you pre pay it's only $10 per day. They have a shuttle that takes you to the port but it's only a few blocks away. I know that didn't totally answer your question but just wanted to let you know.
Have a great time!! I know we did!

The two I see that are good for walking to the port and Fulton currently on Hotwire would be the Hilton Riverside which is the 4* French Quarter Mississippi River with 90% recommendation for $100....or Embassy Suites which is the 3.5* all suites hotel with 85% recommendation in the Warehouse District for $102.
Hilton Riverside you can walk through the river walk mall. I have a thread on this with pictures and videos. In post #18 I did a wheelchair accessible route. Part 2 of that wheelchair accessible route would be the route you would take from embassy suites. Embassy suites has a great free breakfast in the morning and a couple hours of free drinks in the evening.
Here’s that thread:

Here’s a look at the layout

Embassy Suites - Blue
Fulton Garage - Red
Port - Yellow

What night are you looking for?

We are planning on arriving at the port the night before our cruise. My son is in a wheelchair so we would have to drop most of the party off at the hotel then take the car to fulton garage.
In the morning is there a hotel we could safely walk to the port? Would love to go thru hotwire as the prices are really good. Also want to a hotel close enough to fulton garage so it would be safe to walk/uber to the hotel.
Thanks so much,
Donna

That's because it is Paypal digital offer. Just link your Credit Card through your Paypal account.
And the offer is available again...

How long have the $500.00 cards been taking via UPS?
Sail Saturday the 5th?
I ordered a $500 one on 4/13 and it got delivered 4/19. You have to make sure someone is home though. They require a signature of someone 21 or older if you order $500 or more.

Go into your cruise documents and click to print general information. When that pops up go down a few pages and see if your on board credit is there. Mine is not on the my cruise details but is on the one that I will print when it is that time. Hope that makes sense!

I am sorry you had such a difficult time. You must of felt helpless just sitting and waiting! It's something noone will understand unless they have experienced it themselves. Glad you had a good time despite your issues. I can't believe how insensitive his remark was to you! Hopefully he will learn from the experience.

June.2020. Take warm clothes for Alaska Cruise? First time going to Alaska on cruise
in Alaska
Posted
We cruised to Alaska a few years ago in late June and it got cold. Noone spent any time on deck when the ship was moving d/t the cold wind. It was pretty nice in the ports but not what I would say warm. I would pack both so you will be covered.
Have a great time!! Alaska is absolutely beautiful!
