"nor any kids upstairs on the 12th floor deck"
Wrong! Absolutely wrong. Plus the loud noise from deck 11 kiddy camp in card room came up into the rooms on 12. The poster who keeps arguing for children on Regent could make a lot of people happy by going elsewhere. Just look at the posts.
-
So, does Regent want to be luxury all year or just part of the year ?
-
Virtually all of the responders have expressed substantial dislike for traveling when children are aboard.
So, why doesn't Regent discourage children the way some other lines do ? Many of us really do wish to travel over holidays but we suffer the noise and disturbances! How about a response from Regent ?
-
Two of the family groups on that Explorer cruise had nannies along. How do you tell a two year old to stop screaming and how do you tell a five year old to stop running ? Some cruise lines discourage or prohibit children. A brochure from Viking says no
children under 18 allowed.

A recent cruise on Explorer was marred by the many young children yelling and running around the ship. Several large families brought kids, from infants to teenagers, and they certainly effected the high quality normally expected on Regent. This may be unique to the holiday season cruises, but many guests were unhappy with the noise and disturbances. Imagine dining in the Compass Rose with screaming infants nearby. Or reading at the pool area with young kids constantly running past and jumping around. Regent organized supervised activities for the children on the upper decks and also turned the card room into a play camp which effected guests in the suites above on 12. Is Regent encouraging children on their cruises by offering free fares and organized events ? I hope not, because it diminishes the otherwise excellent Regent experience.

Years ago, Christmas eve on Silversea, we (Episcopalian) requested a group table. We were joined by a Catholic priest and his mother, and by a Rabbi with his wife. There was laughter all around and good fun for all.
-
Regent, Seabourn, Silversea, etc are all so fully booked up that management gets indifferent to individual complaints. This could come back to haunt them if economy turns.

Sorry to see this. They are very special, and we hope they will stay with Regent.Management should know how popular they are with the passengers.

Does the Explorer offer ESPN when in the Caribbean ? There are a lot of bowl games coming up over the holidays.
Thanks for any info.

Thanks DC. I looked at that photo for the pool steps and did not notice the statue.
-
How about a photo of the statue ?

I hope you will bring us up to date on the Whisper.

Sliding door issues? Put down towels or bathrobe. Or ask for a doorstop.
-
Also, see the post below: "Returning to Silversea...…"
-
The suites are the same.
-
Thanks for serving !

Don't you miss the fun of different sport shirts and slacks? Dressing sharp isn't all bad.
-
Just don't eliminate the main dining room.

Wind,Cloud,Whisper,Shadow, and Spirit but found too much cost cutting and change in culture.
So we left and have been sailing with other lines. Silversea has a good itinerary for us in Europe next
summer on the Whisper, and we have booked it. With new part-owners, we hope they have restored their former
good quality Thanks for any comment.

I purchased their insurance yesterday and "any reason" was not offered, although I have bought it before. The cost of their regular insurance is 10% which is similar to other choices.

January New Years cruise, Explorer is scheduled to be in Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica as well as Belize and Mexico.
The tours could be a little dicey, but you don't want to stay on board the entire cruise. What do you think ?
-
Ditto Bill. They are all good.
-
If you are going to Sydney, you might want to check your ticket. Explorer New Years cruise is Miami to Miami.

Regent does a great job with music, decorations and festivity. But as always, you can do as much or as little as you choose.

Dental care at sea?
in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Posted
This thread may get a lot of views. You may wish to solve the issue before sailing as there is minimal dental assistance on board.
