I am so sorry to hear this, Marietta. My mom had dementia, but she knew who everyone was. She had been in the nursing home for several years due to 2 strokes and her loss of eyesight.😞

Yes, thank you, Dani. Lovely day in Portland today. It looks like it will be nice tomorrow in St. John, Bay of Fundy. Luckily for us, Boston was the only day of rain for us...we lucked out!😉

We are in Portland, Maine today. Sunny and mild, cool in the shade. We toured on an antique fire truck today, and enjoyed our lobstuh roll and delicious chowder today.😊

Thank God your daughter is safe, and she and her friends are rallying together with their pets and helping with sleeping quarters. I can't even imagine how exhausted she is, and on top of it all, the worry of where she will find to live among all of this devastation, while continuing on with her workload. I am so sorry for your daughter, and for you as her parent. ((Hugs)) I wish your brother well, George, with his home. Thank goodness he has insurance. Yes.. many people can't afford to insure their homes, condos, or apartments.

We had rain in Boston yesterday. We wound up taking cab to Fanuel Halk, Sephora store, and Customs House (I think) and cabbed it back to ship. Bar Harbor today. Cold, cold, cold! We did a Victorian Walking Tour. Excellent Tour Guide. Had obligatory Lobster Roll which was very chincy, to say the least. Too bad. I love lobster rolls. Tomorrow going on Antique Fire Truck tour in Portland. Sorry to hear that Donna's family has caused so much drama that she and.Chris have decided to change their Wedding plans. Your MIL is some piece of work, Debbie. It is very, very sad😔 Oh yes. Yes they are!!!

After quickly skimming through many, many posts checking up on everyone in Ian's path, I'm so relieved to read that all of our CC friends on here have fared pretty well as far as damage to homes, condos and cars, etc. From what I've been able to find out, my community in Naples has lots of debris which is in the process of being cleaned up, roofs and AC on our roofs are being checked, and FPL is hoping to assess when they feel our Collier County would again regain electric. Bon Voyage to all going on their cruises.
