  1. I just found out Carnival will be starting Kids Sail Free, a 3 day sail beginning tomorrow March 26 and ending on March 28th. Select sailings April 16-August 28 2014 and you must book under the Fun Select Rate (fare code PKFP33) to be eligible, CAT 4A and above, also it is not combinable with the current OBC offer. Also says offer is for the cruise fare only and does not include taxes, fees, and port expenses. This should be interesting......

  2. Hi there, we had a family knock on our cabin door on a cruise on board the Disney Fantasy literally right after we walked in our cabin for the very first time. They had booked 2 cabins one on either side of our cabin. Apparently the cabin we were assigned wasn't available when they booked. We had booked a gty so didn't selected our room specifically. Well the cabin we were assigned happened to connect to one of their rooms so they asked if we would be willing to swap. I could honestly see no reason not to swap. The cabins were all identical and we hadn't unpacked or even gotten our luggage yet so it was no big deal to us. I was happy to help, we all simply went to guest services explained the situation and they were happy to make the change. I will say that guest services did seem amazed that we were willing to do that for complete strangers but I really felt like it was a total non issue to be asked. I guess I may have felt differently if we had actually chosen that cabin. But you never know unless you ask :)

  3. I remember when the Solstice was announced there was a lot of PR about the staterooms and bathrooms being designed by a team of five women advisers. (Quoted from the Celebrity web site about the Solstice: "The first cruise line to have 5 women, also known as "the Leading LadiesSM" redesign, and redecorate the staterooms.) It appears that their major contribution was the bar near the bottom corner of the shower to assist a woman shave her legs. Apparently they must have spent so much time coming up with that "improvement" that they ran out of time to design a decent shower head or adequate storage space. :p

LOL! That makes it even worse!:p

  4. I have to say I think it is so lame that all shower heads are not detachable on all ships. I mean seriously? Doesn't it also make it easier for the stateroom host to clean the shower? I would think so, plus if you have kids and there is no tub much easier to help them bathe if needed. Seems like such a simple thing.

  5. Hello all! I am looking for suggestions on choosing between these 2 cabins. I know the main diff is that 8185 is an aft view but I have read some great things about the 2 cabins on deck six as well. They are all available at this point and I have 8185 booked, just looking for some input on what you would choose and why. I have had an aft balcony before and thought that would offer the best view for the Southern Caribbean itinerary on the Summit but like I said I have read equally great things on the other 2 cabins. TIA!:D

  6. We stayed in that exact room on the Glory and it does not have the sofa, just a small chair. Also when we sailed we only had the 2 regular chairs on the balcony no lounger. Never had any problems with any noise from above and the location to the Lido deck was great!! And yes the Glory and the Liberty are sister ships, so pretty much identical outside of the decor. Enjoy!! I think you made a great choice!

  7. I didn't see where anyone else had mentioned that the Italian restaurant is complimentary for lunch and DELICIOUS! Go on embarkation day, there is hardly anyone there, wonderful place for a relaxing sit down lunch! Also if you like sushi, we LOVED Bonsai!! Enjoy the Breeze, make sure to go down the water slides and just have a blast, we had a great time on the ship, so beautiful!

  8. We stayed at the Brookshire Suites at the Inner Harbor while we were there. They had a park and cruise package that allowed us to leave our car parked there for the duration of our cruise and included transport to/from the port. Personally I thought the transportation part was AWFUL, we waited over an hour for them to take us to the port, coming back was better but getting there was a total pain IMO.

  9. We have stayed at the La Quinta Inn Riverview, which had free parking and free breakfast, no free shuttle but they did arrange for a cab to pick us up and take us to the port. We also stayed at the Comfort Suites West of the Ashley which has a park and cruise package that includes parking, breakfast, and transport to/from the port :)
