  1. Aha! That's my mom's sailing too! I'll make sure they all know about it. Thank you so much!!!
  2. Where did you find this information? My mom is traveling 5/1 TA and it will be one less worry for her and travel party. I looked online and the info for pre-cruise testing has not changed. Thanks so much!
  3. Sorry folks, I already timed out the server trying to research this question and the internet wasn't any specific help! I prefer canned soda and my last cruise I had the UDP and had no problem getting canned soda. I'm traveling in September 2023 to Alaska on Radiance and was wondering if the Refreshment Package or Soda Package would also include canned soda? Y'all are the best help! Thank you. 😍
  4. I'm leaving out of Vancouver on a seven day Royal Caribbean cruise in September and will be spending two days before the cruise leaves in the city. Where and what hotels do you like? I'm not looking to spend a fortune but would also like someplace nice and in a nice area. I tried searching other posts but my search would hang up the website. As always, thank you for your help!
  5. I'll be doing the northbound itinerary on Radiance of the Seas. I'm preparing a spreadsheet with all the great suggestions for each port. While I may have to pick and choose what excursions I want to experience, I am very happy to read all the other wonderful choices and ideas that have been shared! This most definitely is very different from cruising the Caribbean! I really looking forward to it.
  6. Wow, I'm really glad I asked! Thank you for the great advice.
  7. I'm taking my first non-Caribbean cruise in September to Alaska and wondered if I'd be missing anything by not booking any excursions? They are quite pricey and I am a lowly solo traveler watching all my pennies. 😉
  8. Why is it that I trust the folks on these boards more than Royal Caribbean customer service? 🙂 While on my last cruise I put a deposit down ($200) on an unspecified future cruise with "Next Cruise". Last night I booked the actual cruise (yahoo!) and when looking at the invoice it indicates that an additional $250 deposit is due next week. I spoke to C&A this morning and the person assured me I didn't have to pay the second deposit but I've read too many posts on this forum about trusting the Royal Caribbean CSRs. I tried to research online but of course nothing addresses this specifically so my question is, do I need to pay the second deposit? Thank you so much!
  9. After my Harmony of the Seas cruise this past October, I emailed Customer Service regarding several issues. After about five weeks I received a response saying RC was escalating my email to "management". I emailed the original CSR and asked to receive a follow-up email and also stated the same on the customer satisfaction survey that followed the email. It's been about three weeks so I have to ask, am I waiting in vain?
  10. Currently on Harmony but even my last cruise to Aruba and Curaçao there’ve been no pier runners (usually a cruise highlight for us!) Have people become more timely post-Covid?
  11. On Sunday out of Port Canaveral on Harmony of the Seas. I don't know what to do with all my free time since I don't have to continue to check my email or credit card charges obsessively anymore. Gosh, I need a cruise. Whew! 😆
  12. Oh yeah baby! I'm happy to report one of my many bids were accepted this morning. 😍
  13. Starry Eyes, I'm not really desperate for an upgrade. I was just being silly. Like StephPS79, the prices of my cruise went up fast and even a guarantee inside was more expensive than a regular priced inside cabin. It's a win/lose situation. If I win any of my bids I get an upgraded cabin but I lose the extra casheesh but I'm on a cruise win, lose, or draw so I'm happy and content. 🙂
  14. This was SO, SO, SO PERFECT! I love it! 😍
  15. I know, just not feeling the Royal Up love after weeks and weeks of checking emails, RU website, credit card pending charges. I'm like a dog with a bone! My paid for room is fine but I'm after the thrill of winning a bid!
  16. You never call, you never write. Now all but one cabin is "sold out" and I haven't heard from you. I mean if it's over, just let me know, I can handle it but to just leave me hanging is just mean. Five days and counting. Very truly yours, Desperately Seeking Upgrade 😢
  17. What ship are you sailing? I'm sailing on Harmony on 10/9 and am waiting on Royal Up with everything crossed. Congratulations!
  18. I looked into this before my last cruise on Allure. The cabins with the larger balconies were on the hump but the square footage of the cabins were the same and regular sized balcony rooms. As I was traveling solo, there wasn't much point in having a larger balcony!
  19. Just reading this post specifically to see if anyone else had a silly sense of humor! 😜
  20. Just so you all know, checking your email incessantly once you submit your bid(s) 45+ days out, all day, every day, does not speed up the process! I'm still waiting. Only 24 more days to go! 😜
  21. The website says it could happen anytime after bidding but I've been waiting for months and my guess is that they wait until the last possible moment to assign new cabins so that Royal Caribbean makes the maximum profit with full fare cruisers rather than Royal Up bidders.
  22. Does anyone have any experience upgrading their cabins after boarding on departure day? Care to share your story? Thanks!
  23. Yes it will. Although, when I was on the Allure in May sometimes when I was walking on the jogging deck my watch would record me walking further in a short amount of time. For a rough example, say I circled the ship deck once at it would say I walked a mile. Not all the times, though. I wondered if it had anything to do with the forward movement of the ship while I was walking. The rest of the features worked fine. Just as an afterthought, I did also have the internet plan.
