  1. Yes, all sorts of eggs to order, and also pancakes, waffles, maybe even French toast? During lunch at LT you can also order a whole pizza. We almost always do that rather than eat the stuff that's been sitting at the buffet, unless it's fresh.
  2. Does that go along with the dress code on formal night? 😉 You are all making me homesick for Silversea! Our final payment is due on the June expedition cruise to The Kimberley next week - so it's slowly getting closer. Keep on having a fantastic time and I'm looking forward to your next port stops.
  3. Jazz, I wouldn't drink their drip/filter coffee either. It's dishwater pretty much no matter where you get it from. I won't even drink it at home! Just order an Americano if you want a stronger coffee. They will make one for you no matter which restaurant you're in; the only (slight) downside is that you have to wait for it rather than having them pour it right away. IMO the wait is well worth it. Enjoy the rest of the cruise!
  4. Lirio, thanks for the tour of Uruguay! Now I really want to visit.
  5. ...And now you know more about it than I do! 😛
  6. Better than what my phone used to autocorrect Mysty to! I like it!
  7. My information from doing this trip in 2015 may be dated, but it was a simple walk from Lyon Perrache station to the ship. It was at le Quai Claude Bernard. I posted a map of our walking route in my trip report: Note: there are two TGV stations in Lyon. Our train's first stop in Lyon was Part-Dieu. We stayed on the train until the next stop at Perrache so that we had an easier walk. You'd have to verify where the ship docks now though because they have done a lot of work on the peninsula between the Rhone and Saone since then, I think. Things may have changed. Re: disembarkation - We didn't end in Arles - we ended in Avignon. If your ship does sail all the way to Arles, it may dock at Qual Lamartine, which appears to be very close to the train station. We saw river boats docked there when we visited Arles. But our ship didn't sail further south than Tarascon, and we disembarked the cruise in Avignon, not Arles.
  8. Beautiful views of the fjords! Glad you're having a nice voyage. @highplanesdrifters - the Le Creuset pots in the photo were being used in solar ovens, I assume? I think that's a photo from the tour in Coquimbo. @JSR - Valparaiso is a nice place to visit. But those hills! Glad you got out and about to see all of that great street art - I think I recognized a few of your photos from our tour there in 2017. I have a similar photo of the lady dancing under the grapevines.
  9. What's next Davy? Is this the flight over Antarctica?
  10. Well, we did it! We are now signed up for the December cruise too. Excited to see Stockholm; it will complete our tour of major Nordic capital cities. We've been to Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, and Reykjavik already and have enjoyed all of them. I know that the Nordic Region also includes the autonomous regions of Greenland, Faroes, and Ã…land. We've been to two of those three countries as well. We'll have to find a way to get to Ã…land some day!
  11. Christmas is canceled? Sorry to hear that. You'll miss us by a year! We're doing a segment of the 2025 WC. A double disappointment to miss both Mysty and you.
  12. Looks like a fun itinerary! We have been to Mainz, Wurzburg, Rothenberg, Bamberg, and Nuremberg - though not a single one of those visits was on a river cruise. All are great places to visit and I'm sure you'll enjoy them very much. We've done a few river cruises in Europe, but we've never heard of this line. Looking forward to hearing about your experience! Have a great time!
  13. You're on a cruise with Silversea, so just worry about where your next glass of wine is coming from! No need to overthink things. Enjoy the sea day!
  14. You need to give me more warning, Mysty! I can't get there by 5PM.
  15. Must have been one heck of a cruise!
  16. We love Hilo and have stayed there a few times. It's much closer to the National Park. Hope you have another great day!
  17. This meme is missing someone taking a selfie!
  18. Sounds like a great trip so far! Agree that the grill is nothing special but the atmosphere is nice. We prefer the outdoor tables at the restaurant though, when we want to dine al fresco. Looking forward to your next post.
  19. We're slumming it in Business. Next time!
  20. We are. And we are excited to try it! First big trip in at least ten years where we're not flying with an airline in the SkyTeam alliance. But SkyTeam has nothing useful in Australia, now that Virgin Australia isn't in the alliance any longer, so this made much more sense. Just a simple hop from JFK-SIN-Darwin on the way to join Silver Cloud, and Perth-SIN-JFK coming home. Simple. Other than the ridiculous flight times...
  21. Jazzbeau & Jazzbelle are well underway. Just under 15 hours to go... Have a great trip! This June we will fly the JFK-SIN non-stop route. Should be fun!
  22. We are now also looking at additional sailing on Le CC for December. Helsinki RT, with stops in Stockholm, Visby, Gdansk, Riga, and Tallinn. We're thinking of the 11 December sailing. If all goes to plan we should be either retired or part-time by then... 🤞🤞 There is an overnight in Stockholm, which we've never visited. Poland and Latvia would be new countries for us. Though we changed planes in Warsaw once, and crossed through into the Schengen zone there, we don't really count that as a "visit" so this would make it more official in our book.
  23. You got it! Shaking my head. I am the oldest of 14 siblings and cousins on my mother's side - the youngest of whom is still in his 20s - so they keep me updated on the kid lingo. And now that my oldest nephew has turned 18, the education will only continue.
