Okay. As a mostly non gambler who has actually tried but can’t get into it, I just want to ask because my mom was a slot player back in the day who did Vegas and local casinos and bus trips to Tunica. She was always getting comps and gifts. Just regular hotel rooms and buffets, nothing approaching high roller quality accommodation, but quite a lot of modest level comps nonetheless.

I never understood the math. The house always holds the advantage, statistically, or else they wouldn’t have the funds for the comps. Or for the machines and tables and dealers and the real estate they all occupy.

At 4k, I can simply buy the vacation I wanted anyway and then spend the vacation enjoying the, well, vacation. Sitting in the casino more than an hour actually feels like work to me. And when I lose my daily $100 gambling budget I am absolutely done for the day. And if I go the other way up to say $300, I actually cash out, put away the winnings, go back and gamble with the original budget only, and when I inevitably lose that, I don’t touch the $200 bounty from ten minutes ago.

So economically what is the advantage to the hard core gambler that I am missing / missing out on?

I gotta be honest with you guys…

    I need a do-over of this cruise..

I absolutely did nothing on this ship, other than gamble 😞 (big surprise right?)

I was stuck so bad after the first couple nights (ie: $22k)..those damn gift cards got me..I lost control again and burned them all…all $16k worth! Betting $15 a pop UltimateX video poker will do that to you.

i said a little prayer that it I could get close to even, I wouldn’t gamble again. (I know you’re not supposed to pray about gambling)

well..I went on the SICKEST run and got back to $18k!

So now I gotta hold up my end of the bargain.
I honestly stopped today because my eyes and hands literally hurt (not because I was losing!)

I put it all back on my S&S sans $1000 that I kept out for after dinner tonight.

i also was checking out a couple beautiful gals in the casino..and it turns out a table-mate that is very friendly, met them earlier this cruise, so she brought them over and introduced me.

the one gal is actually also going through the big D; so we have been vibing.

here are the photo’s that were jackpots..and yes I got the SuperGrandChance literally 10 minutes apart (first was minimum prize, second was $1500)

    I’ve also hit a lot of ~$1000 hits.IMG_7959.thumb.jpeg.d541e9f94283a3b4614e626071f24a15.jpegIMG_7958.thumb.jpeg.3010fdb5717f90988467d13fb677189f.jpegIMG_7946.thumb.jpeg.bddc0eaf109f1bcd5f34d77ae6e40ffe.jpegIMG_7933.thumb.jpeg.072212d9d4e593f30437e09b90332ab1.jpegIMG_7932.thumb.jpeg.242abb4484fe43c8e66972a67ec69be7.jpegIMG_7907.thumb.jpeg.1b89672aa49167c082f550e4b0530ce6.jpegIMG_7906.thumb.jpeg.222fa291c0efe7bca96dc9b9ddb1a4b5.jpeg

Please report results! I'll be cruising out of Jacksonville in September.

Not sure how much of getting bags early was priority or due to the fact of the crew having more time since the previous cruise arrived early and we got an extra day but boarding times were later in the day. Cabin was ready when we boarded, one bag was at the door but other cabins also had luggage that did not have priority tags. Second bag arrived shortly after we arrived at cabin. Thus cruise probably not a good one to test priority luggage arrival.

  4. Well, just got a text alert from Carnival. Getting a free extra day on Elation. Supposed to leave Monday but now leaving tomorrow because of the weather. My wife is in a panic, not because we cannot get there, we only live 2 and a half hours away, but because she is a planner and now everything is off her schedule. Probably will not be a full because some will probably have to take FCC if they cannot get there.
