Anyone booked on the Escape this year? I want to book it, but haven't as of today.

I too, am a fan or Royal, but lately their solo rates have been through the roof. As someone else on here noted it's over 200% and that is just something I'm not ready to accept. Especially when there are other options out there.

I've looking at one of the studio rooms on The Getaway this Sept/Oct and the price seems very reasonable.

I am trying to grab a great price for this May, if not I will look in Sept.

How was the solo price?

How long before a ship sails do you normally book a cruise? I see a price increase in the Getaway and I was waiting until two weeks before, is that a good time.?

Not sure what I am!! I use to be so outgoing and never wanted the night to end. Now I can go an entire cruise and barely talk to anyone the whole week. As times change, I guess we can also. I think in my case I tried to please everyone else and do what they wanted, going solo I can do whatever I want when I want!!!:D

Thanks for the input. I have been researching like crazy and the best 7 day so far is a solo cabin on NCL in May for 937.00. Is that a pretty good deal?

I remember the days when my husband and I could sail for that price on a balcony in the not so long ago past!:eek:

Carnival Liberty out of San Juan, May 3 on a Southern Carrib iten here.

I sailed on the Liberty last year as a solo traveler for the first time. It was fun, I didn't see any solo get togethers but I didn't look for any. I was so needing a vacation, I just enjoyed being by myself. I did meet a few other solos on excursions and all seem to have a great time!

Cruised alone for the first time last year after 17 cruises. It was great even though I did not meet anyone until the last few days. I found another solo traveler on an excursion and we had a lot of fun. I am in my 50's she was late 30's but we laughed and laughed and enjoyed our trip. I am planning on doing another one this spring, just looking for the best rates and it looks like the getaway NCL solo cabin, so far!

Those that sailed on the Getaway, was it as good as the Epic?

I went solo last year on carnival, but my favorite cruise lines are RCCL and Celebrity. I was checking on a few web sites and RCCL was quoting 200 percent more. Please tell me they do have good fares frequently!:confused:

Would this be a good ship for meeting others when traveling as a solo traveler? I know it is a big ship, but wondering if others who were on the Getaway liked it?

Have not decided if I want to go on the Breakaway to Bermuda from New York or to the Eastern Caribbean from Miami. What is the water temperature in Bermuda at that time of year? And what is your opinion of the Breakaway? Thanks?

Did you come back from the western or eastern Caribbean?

I love the pictures, the water is gorgeous. What do you think the temperature was that day in Roatan? How cold was the water?

No single supplement for Liberty. A balcony on the Veranda for 650. There are some travel companies that list the fares w/o supplements daily. Majority of them are Carnival or NCL cruises.

Thanks for the responses. I was just thinking how nice it would be to sit outside and eat with the sun going down!

My hubby called before we left and received an upgrade (the day before sailing)Our girls were in the cabin (inside across from us) and they gave them an ov in the aft area for the same price. They loved it, had great time. Just graduated high school and thought they were special...lol:o

Are there any good meals in the evening that are not in the dining room. I may want to just eat outside but by:confused: water and not worry about dressing for dinner. Any good experiences?
