I was looking at the excursions and I did not see San Pedro on it. It looks like they are doing small private islands this instead. I am so disappointed since that is the place I really wanted to see. I guess I will have to save quite a bit of money for the airfare in the future. :(

I have a cousin (haven't seen her in over 30 years) who built a hotel there and I would like to go by and see her during the port call. Would you trust taxi's or is there public transportation available around the island? I am pretty sure their hotel/rest are near the pier.

Pghsteelerfan I went on Paradise in 2004 and yes it was a carnival excursion. We went on a boat (scary ride) but fun and we snorkeled, then they took us to San Pedro for lunch and just walking around for an hour or two. I loved seeing all the golf carts instead of cars, the people were so friendly. I have always wanted to return, but airfare is pretty expensive so a cruise is always the best value. Have I been to many places including the beautiful southern Caribbean, but this excursion has always been my favorite. I think the water was just gorgeous (fish and coral amazing) and the friendliness of the people. I hope it hasn't changed.

I am cruising solo this year on carnival. I will let you know when I return in June.

Love your review. I will be on Liberty from PC and doing the same ports. I have been to Belize and loved the San Pedro excursion. If anyone gets a chance to go there, it is beautiful and not touristy. It has been 10 years so I am sure some things have changed, but I can't wait to see it again. :)

Will be sailing her on May 31st as a solo traveler for sun and relaxation. Any places you have found that is away from the crowds?

Never been disappointed with Celebrity.

When you arrive at the airport, does Carnival have a shuttle to the port or do you have to get taxi? I know it's about 40 miles.

I did a pretty good poll on this as I switched from inside to guarantee balcony. I couldn't stand it and picked my balcony cabin a week later. now the indices are 300 cheaper and wished I would of stayed with inside because that is a lot of obc.

 

The general concensus I got was most people ended up happy with their guarantee. There is always that chance though that u won't be.

Thank you for the advice. I found a great guarantee balcony price for a solo and wanted to see if most were happy with location. Hard to turn it down. I love balconies.

Hi,:) I am 56 and have been sailing solo with Celebrity for 11 years.

They are my cruiseline of choice and I always come home knowing

I will be a first time solo cruiser and love celebrity. Do they have single supplements?

Always the same! We cruise every year at our anniversary time: one more to go and it will be our 50th!

Those are the only cabins I book. They are the most quiet. I am easy to get sea sick and never felt it in those cabins.

If you were a single cruiser but wanted a nice quiet cruise but a good deal, would you go with the dream, I loved Belize or with Celebrity, love the perks!

Ramish from India and his assistant, also from India, were wonderful on our Sept cruise. Ramish was our waiter on the Serenade in 09 with assistant, now waiter, Dennis, also from India...

We have had many great waiters though the years, but these were very special.
