  1. Yes the stop in Washington was perfectly legal but was perfectly improper.
  2. Good question, airport stop was in Canada. Water stop in Washington, violation of isolation protocol. Waiting for our airport ride, will feel a heck of a lot better tonight in our own bed.
  3. Nearly identical to our situation except my wife couldn't even get Tylenol for her headache and we never got the tissues we requested.
  4. Yeah, it's fantastic if you count unauthorized and unscheduled stops at the airport and at a gas station to buy water as secure.
  5. We have a 1 bedroom suite, breakfast included and delivered to the room each morning. There is a restaurant with room service. The food is OK and no more expensive than any place else plus no delivery fee. They have been pretty good, he said "tell us what you want, we'll leave at your door, knock and run like hell". It could be worse, like that dirty quarantine room on the ship.
  6. I think they wanted to drop something off or pick something up from someone at the airport. I don't think anyone got off or on. Either way it was a violation and extremely rude of the passenger to ask and even worse for the driver to go along with it..
  7. I think he may have been referring to Canadian law.
  8. We were one of the first ones off the ship and we were shocked as they just kept coming behind us. Yes, these were all self-reported cases, I can imagine the actual number was at least double that,
  9. We were on a supposedly secure bus, when we left the "cage" at the cruise terminal we were supposed to go directly to the border and US customs/Immigration. But guess what the driver decided to make a stop at the airport (at the request of a passenger) , the doors were opened , people off and on - TOTAL VIOLATION of all protocols. It was typical of the entire fiasco.
  10. We are going home on day 6 from the test. There were at least 200 to 300 covid cases disembarked. Local Canadians were just sent on their way. US citizens loaded on buses for Seattle area.
  11. We are in a hotel in the Seattle area. The Princess medical rep that the doctor on Royal told my wife to check in with, is nonexistent. Basically on our own, no guidance as to when we should end quarantine, so I just picked a day. In the interest of brevity (and not to upset those who apparently do not want to hear anything negative), I will not go into detail about the disembarkation and transfer. However the comments I have heard from the majority of fellow cruisers at the hotel range from "the cruise from hell" to "never again". We will be home in a couple of days and can't wait. Will give serious consideration to our next booked cruise.
  12. Doctor just told us that if we are quarantined in Canada, it could be 10 days. I like Canada, but not that much.
  13. We get off the ship tomorrow in Vancouver. Still don't know where we are going. The ship's doctor just called to make sure we have enough of our other medicines until we get home. First person that seemed concerned. We will have to pay for our hotel with reimbursement through insurance or Princess. $100 each per diem for food. Thank God we have credit cards with a lot of available credit, don't know what we would do if we didn't.
  14. No clue where we were infected. Very few passengers wearing mask but no large crowds anywhere. Went to the theater one night but sat in the back away from most others. We were thinking it could have been the bus from Anchorage to Whittier but we don't know.

  16. Five days in on our Alaska cruise I felt like I had a cold. It kept getting worse so I decided to test - BINGO, positive. Reported to medical, they came and tested and we were both positive. An hour later we were out of our 600sf suite and into a 200sf balcony. DW not happy. Since then we have been pretty much forgotten by medical. Guest services and crew chat have been nonexistent. The consierege told us that since we are American citizens they will probably take us to a hotel in Seattle. I hope so.Called EZ air, they said that they would keep our file active and rebook us when the quarantine ends. Only 1100 people on the ship and it has been one of least favorite cruises. Everything is just a little off, the crew seems lost. Our original plan was to test via eMed today from Victoria but guess what, no internet. Oh well doesn't matter now. I'll report on what happens tomorrow.
