going along with the off topic discussion.... I have never done a Segway tour in St Martin or Puerto Rico, but I have done one on Sausalito, CA and it was wonderful.. riding segways is sooo much easier than you would think...

just booked it though HAL!

I am active (my favorite excursion was glacier climbing in Alaska and I always enjoy snorkeling or hiking) but I don't know how to sail and I'm not really interested in learning. It sounds like I would be ok on this excursion - I could be a bartender if nothing else :) I appreciate seeing the picture johneeo!

Thanks for the information everyone.
@Fblack - do you get to choose which Captain you sail with or is it chosen for you? Glad to hear you still had a good time even though it sounds as if the Captain needs to understand everyone is there only to have a good time. That is exactly what we were worried about... some people only want to win and we just aren't that competitive. We just love to sail.

Thanks for all the suggestions and great information!
We have decided to take a private tour that goes to Herculaneum, Sorrento and Positano with a drive along the Amalfi coast. We will save Capri for another trip - our next trip to Italy will probably be a land trip where we can spend more time exploring. We have found that a cruise is a good introduction to new areas then we can go back to spend more time at the places we liked.

1st visit to Naples and I need help from those who have been there.... We are looking at 2 tours one goes to Capri the other along the Almalfi coast stopping in Positano. Which one would you recommend and why? We like great views and exploring new places.

Assistant bartender sounds like a good job :)
How was the excursion... was it worth the $$$?

Are you expected to help sail on the America's Cup Regatta or can you just be along for the ride? I know the brochure says you can just sit back and enjoy, but I'm wondering if, in reality, you are pushed to help sail.

We are both social people and enjoy meeting new people so we spend very little time in our room - thus that is the main place we save. We plan on having a drink or two a day and booking the excursions we want (either thru the ship or privately) and if we can't afford to do that we don't take the cruise. We don't use the spa or casino and only window shop on the ship unless something is a good deal or it is something we have to have - like the sweatshirts on the HAL cruise out of San Diego to Hawaii/South Pacific when we had cold weather and storms the first couple days at sea!! Who would have thought we needed cold weather clothes on that trip??!!
