  1. OMG!  I am a travel agent so contacted Princess and was told a self administered test is fine for the 3/17/23 28-day Tahiti cruise. I don’t know if I believe the gal I was chatting with!  I think I will wait for a few weeks and ask again.

Princess makes this so confusing!  I told the gal about the contradictory info so maybe she will tell someone to fix it.

Did they update your travel summary to reflect this?
Ours still has the general verbage.

The CruiseHealth tool also still looks like general verbage too, dated Dec 2nd.

Does yours read the same as mine in my post #31?

I used the cruisehealth tool for our sailing.  It clearly states in the first sentence for testing requirements that the test must be medically observed.  The second bullet is confusing because it mentions self-administered testing.  Personally I am not taking a chance and plan to take a medically observed test.  The last thing I want is to be denied boarding because it wasn’t medically supervised.

    Thanks.
We just came back from Australia and we did our “own RAT test” in our hotel room  (within 24 hours of embarkment) and had the test results within 15 minutes and then we downloaded the results to our app. We brought our own test kits from home (Canada which is acceptable for the Australia government to use).  At check in, Princess never did ask us for our test results.
To do a medical assisted test takes time and cost plus, you may have to wait for the test results which could take days. Too stressful for me to wait. This bring back to many memories when we were looking for a place in Sydney (website) and then Princess changes the testing requirement.
I submit the above on my personal thoughts on this topic.  I realize the person is asking “where” do I get tested.  Good luck I’m sure you will find a place.

I am on the same cruise as the OP.  Our tests must be “medically observed”.  No “do it on your own” testing.

I hope you feel better soon.  I have a feeling quite a few might be going home with an unwanted souvenir.  Heard on another board someone asking for cough syrup.  I don't think there's a cruise going these days that escapes unscathed.

Thank you!  Just got my Paxlovid.  Symptoms are like a sinus infection so mild.  Same with my sister.  My nephew has no symptoms.

  5. Hi everyone.  I am back home from the wonderful cruise!  BUT 3 of the 5 of us tested positive for Covid once we got home.  I didn’t sleep well on Thursday night and attributed not feeling great yesterday to a lack of sleep. I was so exhausted on Friday night that I went to bed at 8:15. So I decided once I got home I better test myself.  Lo and behold; positive.  Luckily our symptoms are mild; headaches, bit of coughing and tired.

I wanted to warn everyone because we definitely contracted it on the ship.

We are looking at the new ship.  On the Sun Princess, especially with the fares on some of these 'new ship' cruises, I would look into booking one of the Ocean View cabins.   They seem to be a pretty big cabin.

I thought about Deck 6.  You don't know what is below you under most of Deck 5.  Plus, 6 is just a little higher.

If we had a cabin under the grey area there at Crown Grill, which I am thinking is a kitchen/staff area,  does anybody know if that might present a noise problem.

Are there any issues that I am missing that somebody here might know about?

I never book cabins above or under these types of open spaces.  My guess is you will hear noise from Crown Grill.  I doubt it would be a problem in the morning but it could be noisy in afternoon and evening.  Personally I wouldn’t risk it unless you are heavy sleepers.

HI, just for my own clarification, are you saying that during the cruise which started Nov 9 from your thread title, while it was 6 days underway, that all of the passengers were forced to be tested?  Based on the title of your thread, is this a single 28 day cruise (I don't think so) or a multi-back to back totaling 28 days (more likely).  I'm just trying to understand what exactly happened - ie, perhaps you're referring to testing the back to back cruisers?  Thank you for clarification!

It is a single 28 day cruise round trip out of Los Angeles (San Pedro).

After experiencing 360 as part of a trial almost two weeks ago I had heard that they would charge $150 per person and shared it here.  That turned out to not be the case and they have announced that it would be complementary for suite passengers and some others.  As for the age limit I am not sure.  But would the 16 YO enjoy a 7 course meal from the Mediterranean?

    That’s great news!

Yes my nephew will enjoy it.  He is very mature and loves new adventures.  Geography and history are his passions.  He also enjoys learning about other cultures and trying different foods.

Not sure if there is any age restriction. Probably not since I saw a few people refusing alcohol.....However you would be missing out on really great wines and champagne. I heard it may be more than $150 but nonetheless well worth. And yes, from what I hear it's the same price unless comp'd from the casino.

Thank you.  I think we will skip it!  It will cost another $750 for the 5 of us to go.  We paid enough for this cruise.

  10. I posted this in cabin selections but didn’t get a response…..…..hoping someone on the HA boards can help.

I noticed that the cabins on deck 2 are under the promenade deck.  Are these cabins noisy?  I am an extremely light sleeper and want to make sure there won’t be too much noise from people walking on promenade.
