  1. It is so disappointing that Princess hasn’t corrected this issue.  I never hear about problems on the Majestic.  Maybe they fixed it?  Or maybe I missed those posts.

I certainly hope it is fixed on the Sky.  My folks and are are sailing in one of the Sky Suites......maybe they won’t have a problem since it is not an aft suite.

  2. Charles,

I am in tears as I read your last post.  I kept thinking I wasn’t reading it correctly.  How can Judy be gone?

I can’t even begin to imagine the pain you must be experiencing.  I hope and pray that you are doing OK.  We never know when our time will come.  I know that Judy experienced joy and happiness with you on her final days.  At least you were in a place that you both loved.

Take care of yourself and I pray that someday we will hear from you.

    Sending you hugs.

If you are an extremely light sleeper then only book a cabin that is sandwiched between two cabins, one above and one below. If you don't there is the possibility it could be noisy.

My folks are in suite A750 so I picked the inside cabin next to them.  I think I will call Princess and switch to A744!

    Thanks!

We just left cabin R744 on the Ruby yesterday.

Aloha deck is not directly below the pool area...Riviera deck is in that position.

You'll hear nothing much unless someone above you jumps up & down trying to make as much noise as possible.:classic_laugh:

At the back of the ship there are cabins below the Terrace pool.  Suites and 2 inside cabins.

  5. Has anyone stayed in this cabin?  I noticed that it is below the Terrace pool area.  I am an extremely light sleeper and am wondering about possible noise from above the cabin.  It looks like the cabin is below the steps behind the pool but sometimes the deck plans are not 100% accurate!

    I appreciate any insight!!

    Thanks!

  6. I am on the Ruby in December and they changed the ”late” traditional seating to 7:15 on that ship too!!  The early seatings are 4:45 and 5!  That is nuts.  We were supposed to dine at 6 and they moved us to 5.  So I just updated our dining to the 7:15 time.  I think there are going to be lots of upset people when they see those REALLY early times.

    • Thanks 1
  7. I just logged into my cruise personalizer for my 12/8 cruise and was shocked to see that my dining time was 5PM!!!  The times listed are now 4:45pm, 5pm or 7:15pm.  I wonder if the show times were also moved.  If anyone is on the Ruby currently can they please let me know.  I want to change to 7:15 but also want to make sure that we don’t box ourselves in for the shows.

Future Ruby cruisers please check your dining confirmations!

    Thanks!

  8. VERY IMPORTANT

I really hate to do this on the first sea day, but we found something yesterday that could really affect people’s health on the ships. We bring our own shampoo and conditioner for long cruises since Princess started using the bottles in the shower instead of the packaged Lotus Spa stuff. Usually our steward gives us new or empty/cleaned spare bottles and swaps them out for us. This time we had to dump the old stuff out and clean the bottles, but what we found in and around the bottles was GROSS.

Behind the bottles on the chrome attachment plate was black moldy goopee gross stuff. We used a healthy dose of Lysol spray and Clorox wipes to clean it up.

Even worse though was that the black moldy goopee stuff was in the shampoo/conditioner and the body gel bottle as well. Especially on the cap threads. (Judy had to clean the pump head threads with Q-tips.) After rinsing for several minutes in hot water, we got it all cleaned out, black stuff everywhere.

I’m not sure if it was bacteria, fungus or just some kind of chemical reaction between the soaps and the containers. I don’t want to know. I wanted it gone.

The reason the stuff is there is pretty clear – these particular areas just don’t get cleaned very often – they probably don’t think its important. But anyone that might be sensitive to mold or fungus might have a reaction to the stuff when the shower is running and dispersing some of this in the air.

So pull the caps and look at the threads in bright light and look behind the bottles with a flashlight and see what you see.

OMG that is awful!!!! Did you tell the Hotel General Manager at the meet and greet?

    Thanks for the warning!

    Enjoy your amazing cruise!!! :D:D:D:D:D

  9. OK! Where to? My dance card is pretty open! I am pretty sure we can talk P2 into some shenanigans!

That would be amazing!! I am open in most of 2019. Currently booked on B2B cruises on Sky Princess in December 2019 with my folks.

I retired in January. Right now I am trying to sell my house in San Diego so I can move to a 55+ community in Orange County CA. I hope to be settled by the end of the year. Transatlantic? Europe? Australia? I have a long bucket list!!!;):D

  10. Paige!!!! I am still stalking you. This is Jamie, aka Spingal, from Facebook.

I love reading about all of your adventures! Lord Windermere, aka Prince Charming is a cutie and it looks like you are both having a great time. Your FB videos are a hoot! I can’t wait for your next FB and CC posts. I am living vicariously through you.

I am serious that someday we have to cruise. I am recently retired and LOVE to travel.

  11. I'd be happy if Jan Swartz booked an average balcony cabin and didn't let the steward know who she was. I'd be super happy if she went to anytime dining and had the same the experiences as the rest of us. Same food, same luck of the drawer service. She could book a tour, experience a tender port (without priority disembark of course) and attend the new recorded safety drill lecture that goes on and on and on. Only then can she say she sailed on Princess.

    Totally agree!!!

  12. I just received a pre-cruise email.

It shows that the Captain on our cruise in December will be Fabrizio Maresca.

Maybe he is coming back to the Regal after some time off???

I met the Captain and his wonderful wife Caroline at the Most Traveled Passenger lunch in July on a Regal Baltic cruise. They have an 11 year old daughter. They cruise during the summer and return for the holidays when their daughter is not in school. So you are correct that he will be back on the Regal in December.

I love Captain Marcesca!!! He and Caroline are wonderful! :D:D
