  1. Maybe. It's hard to walk in the shorts and sandals I wear to the dining room.
  2. Look. All the people saying "5:15 means 5:15"..... Even if the doors open at 5:15.... by the time the cattle call all go through the chute-- it's 5:30 anyway. So why not just wait until 5:30 and not deal with the flood of people?
  3. Honestly 5:15 is a bit early for me…. So waiting till 5:30 is not a problem for me at all. really kind of hoping the new middle dining time comes to Liberty before this summer…
  4. It does. Thanks. I have no need to gather outside the door. I’d rather take my time, enjoy my drink, and then just walk right to my table.
  5. I’m assigned dining at 5:15. Is the “window” to arrive at the MDR 5-515? Or 515-530?
  6. Liberty is a great ship. We did a 9 day cruise last summer and have one booked for this summer as well—this time with our kids. it doesn’t have some of the new bells and whistles if that matters to you (No Playmakers and no Freestyle machines - though I don’t drink soda so I don’t care)… but she’s still in great shape and we had an amazing time!
  7. Hello, My family of 4 are all Diamond. We are getting one internet plan for our upcoming cruise, figuring my wife can use her own diamond internet days as well as our kids. Even though I got a package, would she be able to use my free day as well? How would that work?
  8. I am bringing my 6 year old and my 3 year old on a cruise on Liberty of the Seas this coming summer. 6 was on Oasis a few years ago (he was 4 at the time) and didn’t particularly like Adventure Ocean. He was bored. Pre-shutdown, I feel like everyone said how amazing AO was. Has it returned to its former glory at all? Anyone have any recent experience with littles, especially on Liberty?
  9. I have the Royal Caribbean VISA. I had some extra points and decided to order a boat tote, which is apparently shipped directly to my home. However, it’s been over a month and this hasn’t happened yet. Does anyone have any experience with how long it takes to receive ordered merchandise?
  10. I signed up for the RC visa while on my last cruise. if I redeem points to use as cruise payment, that’s no problem if using a travel agent, right? and if I redeem them for OBC, will they appear in advance so I can use to book excursions and whatnot? Or will they not appear until I’m on the ship?
  11. We got there around 11am. We had late 8pm dining.
  12. Note I went with my mother and not my wife. Lol
  13. I just did a 9 day cruise on Liberty of the Seas, with stops in Bermuda, Labadee, La Romana and Puerto Plata. I thought I'd write a good, bad and ugly. Embarkation: Cape Liberty is SO easy. We live a little over an hour from the port so we drove. Pulled up, dropped off our luggage, and directed to parking. For Liberty, handicap parking went in the garage. Everyone else went to a lot a little further away. There are shuttle buses or you can walk. Cost was $270 paid in advance-- in theory. They couldn't accept my credit card because it didn't have a chip. So I was directed to park in the garage. SCORE! Got to the terminal, went through standard airport type security, and was on the ship within minutes. I had a bit of a problem at security when the woman didn’t know what Red Bull and non alcoholic Bloody Mary mix was, and then threatened to have me arrested when I got frustrated with her, but otherwise, things were smooth. The ship: Liberty is a beautiful ship. Does she have all the bells and whistles of Oasis or Anthem? No. But there are plenty of bars and pools and things to do to keep you as active or relaxed as you want to be. If you look for things, you will find them. Some carpets are stained or worn. Paint is peeling. But never once did I feel “disgusted”. Dining: we did the main dining room every night for dinner. The food was delicious. Were there things we didn’t like? Sure. But my own mother has made things I don’t like as well. And I’ve had things I don’t like at some fine restaurants. But overall, I was happy with everything I ate. The Indian food is great! Windjammer for most breakfast and lunches, which was also fine. You can easily find something you’ll want to eat. Other: one thing that made this cruise interesting was the “crowd”. I’m from the Philly area. I’m used to people being loud and obnoxious. I’m one of them. But there was a LOT of that on this ship. Combine that with drink packages and I could see how it could be a bit much for people. Teens just hanging out on stairwells were also annoying, but as my parents pointed out… my sister and I did the same thing when we were teens, so I can’t really complain. Bermuda: Such a beautiful port. We took a shuttle to Horseshoe Bay. $14 round trip. The ship charges $39. NOT NECESSARY. The shuttles and cabs are lined up right outside the dock and are waiting to take you back when you’re done. Labadee: it was VERY hot. I personally recommend Nellie’s beach. It was a nice quiet little cove with plenty of sun or shade. I ventured CLOSE to the artisan market and started to get harassed so I ran away. La Romana: We did the Caves of Wonders excursion through the ship. It was awesome! Also went to a cigar factory and a little gift shop. The port area is great with lots of shops, bars and a pool. Puerto Plata: We did the Damajagua Waterfalls excursion through the ship. It was a HIKE! Be prepared for it. It was NOT easy. But... the payoff was so worth it. Jumping or sliding down the falls was amazing. The port area is also amazing. It has pools and a lazy river. Debarkation: VERY smooth. We were group #1. Off the ship by 7:45am. In our car and on the road by 8:15am
  14. The planners for my upcoming cruise on Liberty OTS just posted on the app. I notice on night 1, there is just one welcome aboard show at 9pm. On every other Royal Caribbean cruise I’ve taken, they have had showtimes align with dinner seatings. Is that not a thing anymore? A 9pm showtime as the only option inherently leaves out the entire second seating, doesn’t it?
  15. Apologies if this isn't the right forum... I typically buy my insurance directly with Royal Caribbean. HOWEVER, if I decide to book with another company, which amount do I "insure" the trip for? Is it the subtotal? The full total amount after taxes, fees, gratuities? Something else?
  16. I assure you... my MIL is just as judgy about people's dress in restaurants on land...
  17. I am looking to book a cruise on Symphony of the Seas for next summer and specifically looking at Boardwalk Balcony staterooms. Which staterooms are the best if we want to see the Aqua show from our balcony? Or does it not really matter because of the Abyss slide?
  18. yeah... my boss keeps telling me to take a Disney Cruise. My response to him is usually along the lines of "dude! you know how much money I make!"
  19. So no themes, per se.... But there's still like-- the parades? And a daily program? It's not just unstructured free play?
  20. On board Oasis of the Seas last summer, my little one (5) wasn't too thrilled with Adventure Ocean. It was just sort of glorified babysitting. No real activities or programming. Has that changed at all? Are they back to having more structured programming at all?
  21. Hi! So I am typically loyal to Royal (though have sailed NCL and Carnival in the past). I am considering my 1st MSC cruise next summer on MSC Meraviglia. It'd be my wife and I as well as our two kids-- 6 & 4. Has anyone done Royal & MSC? How do they compare? Will I be happy with MSC? As for the kids, will they enjoy the kids club? On Royal-- especially in this post pandemic world-- it was kind of like glorified babysitting. There was no real programming, which was a bummer. Is it similar on MSC? Finally-- does anyone have daily programs and kids club programs from this summer's MSC Meraviglia cruises from NYC to PC, Nassau & the private island? I'd love to see what kind of activities are available all day and night. Sorry for so many questions. I'm trying to decide between Symphony of the Seas and MSC Meraviglia right now and I'm just trying to learn as much as I can.
  22. Oh I know. But two bottles on a 9 night cruise is not gonna suffice.
  23. Have the wine menus been fairly accurate recently? Or is Royal still claiming “supply chain issues”? There are a few bottles listed on the menus that I like… but I’d like to know if they actually be AVAILABLE.
  24. Hey now! Proud product of public schools. damn dangling modifiers
