You’re lucky with your car park. Our Manchester airport car park booking company has said they’ll give us a credit which will last for 18months. If we don’t want to accept that we have to ring up and they warn that their customer service lines are very busy. We decided to accept the credit as we are likely to need parking within the next 18 months.

Holiday Extras gave us nothing back when our 18 day cruise was cancelled the day we were due to fly out to San Francisco because we didn’t give them 24 hours notice of the cancellation. After all this is over, there are companies that will shine and companies that will have shown their true colours.

  2. We were on a back to back on Jewel of the Seas. The first week (9 March) the ship didn’t get to any ports and we received a refund via the cc we registered when boarding but stayed on the ship. The second week (16 March) was cancelled and we received that refund for the cruise via our travel agent last week and the drinks package and speciality dining that we booked ourselves was refunded this week.  RC are working on a strict date order, we were told by email.

Our emails from Azamara seem to have completely dried up , had nothing since our cruise last June.

I can't even be bothered to chase them up, their loss has I am not that interested any more.

Same here. So many people on this forum, including Bonnie gave me advice on how to get back on the email list but nothing worked. I don’t even get the US ones never mind the UK ones and nothing from LCV or whatever they are called now. 🤷‍♀️ I have lost interest.

  4. I have cruised 8 times with Azamara in the last 10 years, from when their ships were white and drinks were only included with meals. I have never been in a cabin higher than a standard veranda cabin. I am on Discoverer level and consider myself a loyal Azamara customer yet there is nothing in this revamp of the limited loyalty scheme for me apart from an extra 1% discount off a future cruise which I am sure will not be easy to spend. I will still have to cram the laundry into a tiny bag and pace my 90 minutes of WiFi across the cruise. The people that benefit from this are those lucky enough to travel in the higher grade cabins. I am not saying that those passengers are not loyal but this improvement is not based on loyalty but on dollars. So please stop calling it an improvement. Other cruise loyalty schemes provide discount for on board spend and excursions as well as “welcome onboard” gifts and cocktail parties and special dinners, available to everyone who has reached the appropriate loyalty level, not just those in the higher grade cabins. So, come on Azamara, give us loyal passengers something worthwhile.

Thanks for your reply. I think what is confusing me is that if I want to pre purchase anything else - wine, flowers, celebration packages, internet etc it is all charged in £. Excursions are quoted in $. So does Princess actually charge it to you in $ even though I am in the UK and everything else is in £.
I plan on getting a Halifax clarity card which doesn’t charge fees on foreign currency, but would prefer to use my current card if buying in £. Has anybody from the UK pre purchased excursions - how was it charged to your account?

We have just purchased excursions which were priced in $, used our Halifax Clarity card to pay for them, opted to be charged in $ (you don’t want the cruise line to do the exchange for you), and I have just checked my Clarity account and the transaction is there, no additional charges. If you can, get a Halifax Clarity card and always opt to pay for the goods in the local currency.

  6. If I hadn’t received a card from Silversea telling me to watch out for this programme which was filmed on Silver Spirit/Shadow (can’t remember which) I would never have known it was a Silversea Ship she was on. Very disappointing as our first Silversea cruise is next year and we were looking forward to getting an idea of what to look forward to. I can only imagine that Silversea didn’t get any free advertising because Jane McDonald and the crew had to pay for the trip?

  7. I suppose they don’t need onward travel arrangements if you booked through them but if you are an independent traveller, as we have been on some cruises, we are always asked for the flight and hotel details. We left Boudicca a few weeks ago and provided our hotel details in Phuket and our flight details. I see no problem with this as they may have needed to contact us after we left the ship. For what it’s worth, we are platinum members and have never provided information in advanced of the cruise.

  8. New to Silversea and our first Cruise is on Muse in September. Can you tell me what the Silver Box is and what it contains please, sounds very intriguing, and will we get one as newcomers? Thanks

I’m starting this topic for all of us on the roll call to post our experiences of this transatlantic cruise.

This will be our first transatlantic cruise and we’re approaching it with a mixture of excitement and trepidation - we hope the weather and swell will be kind to us! We set off today by train to Manchester, staying overnight then flying to Lisbon tomorrow with TAP. We’re all packed and just last minute chores to complete today.

Have a great time, HGC, I am looking forward to hearing all about your cruise as it is the reverse of our cruise in March.

  10. Azamara celebrate the equator crossing in fine style by with a lot of fish-kissing and officers being dunked in the pool. I’m not sure what the story is meant to be but here are some pictures from the crossing the equator ceremony on Pursuit in March, from Rio to Lisbon

And another one today, sent by the UK office to us in the UK.

Its headed ‘Immersive Mediterranean Journeys’ and highlights their summer 2020 Mediterranean offerings. Very happy to copy and paste it for anyone who hasn’t seen it.

We didn’t get that one HGC but we are not sailing Azamara next year so no need to post it. Thanks

I received an Azamara email today from Miami. It’s headed Celebrating our Chefs Delicious Passions. I can copy and paste it if you haven’t received it & want to see it - just let me know.

Thanks HGC but we received that one.

If anyone hasn’t seen it, just ask & I’ll copy & paste it here.

Thought the problem was sorted however we haven’t received that email😤, what is going on? Can you post it please? Thanks.
