Lois, make sure you keep your leg elevated as much as possible to reduce swelling. Get an extra chair in restaurants to put your leg up on. One cruise we did I was in a moon boot and keeping your leg elevated during meals definitely helps with reducing swelling ! Best wishes x

Rachel - I think the Broome to Darwin is better than the reverse trip ( Darwin to Broome ) as you have a lot more flight choices out of Darwin than Broome !!

We have spent 114 days on the Silver Explorer - it was my favorite SS ship. We have cruised Broome to Darwin -but that was way back in July 2009 (and on the Orion !!) I usually take a nice skirt that I can pair up with a couple of coloured Silky tank tops, and gold sandals. Easy peasy ! Don't forget the bug spray !! If they still do the helicopter excursion to the tops of the falls - DO IT !

Rick Stein also has restaurants in Australia. Two that I know of. He is married to an Australian girl. I did a 2 day cooking course with him at Bannisters Mollymook. We had a great time.
