  1. I have sailed on Seaside YC inside with a friend and we both found for the price, the experience was well worth giving up the balcony.  Only negative I would say, other than no natural light, is that the shower is small but we managed fine.  We were hardly in the room, other than to sleep, shower and change.  We did bring many of those removable hooks to hang our bathing suits, cover-ups, etc on.  I will say that sailing with a friend and having the beds separated did give the room a bigger feel.  The private pool area made up for the lack of balcony.  We enjoyed it so much we booked for 2020 with the hubbies and we both decided to do YC insides to keep the cost down.

Like quite a few people on this forum was waiting on valuetrips to release their 2019 dates for my March 2019 cruise and found an alternative for brilliant price courtesy of the Hilton price match policy.

Managed to get Hilton to do their price match guarantee after seeing cheaper rate on Expedia for Hilton Marina. Simply phoned Hilton who obviously checked out rate I was seeing on Expedia. Hilton not only price matched but deducted another 25% off the Expedia rate making a grand total of £389 ($505) for 4 nights in March for room only.  I'm really happy with that especially as we had transatlantic air fare.

Thank you so much for this post.  I too got tired of waiting and followed your lead and booked with ES instead.  Well finally today I see ValueTrips posted rates and they are much higher than what I got so, thank you again.  I am also seeing a lot of threads that are warning about 3rd party booking so again glad I booked direct

  3. I have been waiting for Value Trips to post their 2019 rates.  I have even emailed once or twice but have not received a reply.  Has anyone else tried to contact them or has anyone been able to book 2019 yet?

  4. Do all Seaside YC deluxe suite beds "split"?. I've never seen them in that configuration. Any info on the Seaside YC interior beds?

I only sailed MSC YC once and didn't have a split bed. I'm bringing a large group for my next Seaside cruise and the bed info is appreciated.

A friend and I stayed in a YC Seaside Inside and yes, the beds were split :D

  5. Thank you for your first hand experience; that is great to know! As indicted, there is a choice right now of handicapped or "regular" inside YC cabin (due to the close proximity of the sailing the HC has opened up for booking). Decisions, decisions

I say GO FOR IT! Even more so if you can get the HC room. I must warn you though, once you go YC it will be hard to go back to non-YC :p:p:p:p

  6. It's not just the price difference it's the matter of losing the balcony, too which is my refuge.

So it'd be 2 cruises in a Balcony or ONE in a YC Inside. There is a choice of YC Inside "regular" or YC Inside "hancicapped" which are both open for booking, but most of the HC space is taken up by the bathroom (which lacks the nice shower in the regular room.)

YC inside has a very small shower, only the balconies have the shower with the bench so the HC shower would be bigger. My friend and I decided to upgrade from a Fantastica corner balcony to YC inside last April since we were leaving the husbands home and although we had the same concerns about not having an outdoor space we never regretted it, the experience was wonderful, so wonderful that we booked another YC inside on a future sailing with our husbands. I can honestly say we did not miss the balcony.

  7. Hi, thanks both for replying. Thanks for links to the menus, they don't show pricing though. Also, unfortunately under cruise planner it does not show all the pricing and also doesn't say which ones are offered as lunch venues, or what the charge is. I did see packages but because we are booked with a TA we aren't able to use our OBC until we board. Ultimately, I'm hoping someone who has recently sailed on Reflection could answer the surcharges for each of the restaurants for lunch/dinner as applicable.

We also booked through a TA and the OBC is actually a perk from Celebrity and we were able to use it pre-cruise for drinks pkgs and dining. Might be worth checking into

  8. This is quite right. I don’t think any printed materials actually specified “Deluxe Beverage Package”, but that is exactly what was included with my Yacht Club booking.

FunNSUn, You mentioned that you upgraded to YIN. Did you previously have Classic Drink Package with your original booking (either via promotion or paid)? None of my YC documents indicate a drink package, so I'm thinking the old package just came over to the upgraded booking even though you would be entitled to the perks of the YC, which is all drinks except for the double asterisk from what I understand.

When I booked the cruise back in 12/2015 the promo was the Classic Drink package which we upgraded for a fee to the top of the line package. When I switched to the Yacht Club my confirmation stated All-Inclusive Classic Drink Package A. When I called to dispute this they told me that their website says that the YC comes with the Classic but I don't see that. I am just going to wait until we board. I am sure it will all work out and hope that we have an amazing experience.

  9. One of the unfortunate things about MSC is misinformation. Often times they get wrong, other times they say one thing and do another. I can verify 100% that I had the Deluxe Beverage Package with my YC booking and it wasn’t any special promotion, just what came as a standard YC benefit.

Thank you again for your time and your wonderful review and pics. I don't even know you but I trust you more than the reps :p:pso I am hoping for the best outcome.
