  1. Hi everyone just want to answer your questions honestly and say that I am onboard Anthem at this moment for the 16 day cruise and we are on the DD Classic 2 That is 8 30. What happens Is that on 16 night cruise you rotate 4 times in each of the four Restaurants with the same menu for three times and we have been assured that it will change tonight? We have many issues mainly cold food we have complained as far as the Captain and have had hot food for the last two nights. I sincerely hope we have helped your cruise in the future by stating the obvious. The staff have been great and everyone has tried to sort out our problems. Service is two hours even on a table of 8 people. Another thing is that the Grande is formal that is requires a jacket which they supply with no problem if you have no suit or tux. There are also Royal nights when dressing up to your best applies. So far two on our cruise and expecting one more. People on our table very upset because told no formal or dressing up. Hope that helps a little enjoy your well deserved cruise everyone

Thank you for the information and your time. Do you know if you are able to deviate from the schedule aside from specialty restaurants, i.e. if we want to eat in one of the free restaurants more and others less?

  2. Has anyone stayed in an inside on the Breakaway? I am looking at the deck plans and they look on the small side.

We stayed in an inside. They are very small, much smaller than RC and there are no drawers, only a closet with some side shelves but only one or two of the shelves are deep the others are shallow. There is a shelf above the clothes bar which is long and deep. Also no chair, just a cube to sit on that is hollow so you have some storage there. Also no desk, just a counter space but there are some shelves in the bathroom. Sailed with DH so it wasn't too much of a problem for storage but with the beds together very little room on either side and the side that has the counter space sticking out can get tricky if you get up in the middle of the night so you have to be careful. Have an inside booked again to sail with a friend and with the beds apart should be more comfortable with a walkway down the middle but I am worried about storage. Plan to use a small suitcase that I will store under the bed as a drawer.

  3. I did not get the email but my TA told me about it. I sailed Quantum in November and booked Anthem months ago and she got me the $100 credit. It is applied and reflected on my updating booking documents she sent. :D

Is the price of your cabin still the same? I was told that to apply the obc I would need to be re-priced at today's rate which is over $200 more than when I booked.

  4. I have nothing. DW and I were on the Dec 12 Q sailing. And on top of that, we just booked an Anthem cruise the other day! I'd like 100 OBC! What the heck!

I sailed the Q in Jan and didn't get the email but called since I am already booked on Anthem. I was told I could have it applied however they would have to re-price my cruise at today's price which is more than the 100 obc so it is no good for me but if you just booked then I would call C&A and if your price is still the same then you can have it applied. Good Luck.

  5. Has anyone stayed in this cabin or 11650 or 650 on any other deck? I was wondering if bed is by balcony or by the door. Also, if any of you have pics of balcony on any deck level ending in 650 - I would really appreciate a pic to see how much larger the balcony is. Thanks so much!!!

We were in 8650, bed by balcony. Balcony is slanted and larger, not as big as a D1 but close enough for me :D

  6. Booo, to the nay sayers:p

Just called and had the OBC(s), applied to my Liberty 2015 and Grandeur 2016 cruises. Cruise fare stayed the same, and in one case, dropped:p

    One happy cruiser here.

Seems it does apply to existing bookings:D

Thanks for the heads up but I just called on my Oct and was told it would have to be re-priced at the current rate which way higher than when I booked, same for my April cruise. Glad it worked for you :)

  7. We're looking at booking Anthem and have found that it would cost us $1000 more for the category D1 over a D8.

Can someone tell us the differences between these two, and what determines a D8 vs. D7 or D6, etc?

As stated D1 have a bigger balcony but the other D category cabins on the hump sides are bigger as well. We were in 8650 on Quantum and we had a bigger balcony than the other D8's. Also some D categories hold more than 2 pax while the D8 only could accommodate 2.

  8. This is my wifes first time cruising RCL, and my second time (my only cruise on RCL was more then 10 years ago) - yet alone we are on the Quantum with Dynamic Dining. We've heard of the good, bad and the ugly with this - as I've read some reviews.

Just have a few questions about RCL and the Quantum...

Any tips/tricks/info on the Quantum? I know its a newer ship.

When will lobster night be on a 7 night Bahamas/FL cruise from NYC?

    Any tips for RCL?

Any suggestions you may have for what not to miss, what to order, what not to do?

Thanks in advance! We are looking forward to cruising RCL!

Just off the 1/11/15 12-night. We made sure that we reserved dining in advance for most nights and all shows and never had a problem. Lobster Tail on menu in The Grand and a surf and turf special was served the night we dined in American Icon. Loved the ifly and bumper cars.

  9. We do like the convenience of the elevator, but might need the longer walk after visits to the MDR and Windjammer. :D

if you go to cruiselinerooms dot com and look up Royal Caribbean and then go to Explorer which is a sister ship to the Nav, there are pics of that room. Hope that helps.

  10. Ok, here is my story. DH & I went on the Quantum in Nov. for the 3 day sampler. We were on board in 10 min. Great! Room was ready. Entertainment, loved it. DD not so much. When we returned home, I tried to cancel our 12 day cruise for Jan. 11th and transfer to another ship. No can do. To late to cancel.

BTW I have never used RRCL before, always used a TA including the 3 day in Nov. I have to say will NEVER use them again. And so it begins.

Nov. 25th, received E-mail from RCCL, stating my set-sail pass was ready to be printed. No go. Tried for several days. No go. So I called C&A. After a very long wait. A very nice lady tells me that my cruise has been cancelled:eek Why? We did not receive your final payment . Well you had my credit card # why wasn't it charged to that? Oh,RCCL doesn't keep your # on file. Did not know this since the last 20 yrs. the TA's always charged my final payment. They did not E-mail me, but called a phone number that only god knows where they got it. Not even in the same state. They had 3 numbers they could have called. They call a wrong no. And left a message. That was it!

Anyway, the nice lady got it straighten out & now the fun begins with DD & entertainment .

A couple of days later I was ready to make my dinning res. Put in my request for 5 nights then it would not take any more. OK, tried 3 more times, it is now mid-Dec. We were away 4 days for New Years. Come home and tried to make ANY kind of res., tell me they cannot be completed at this time. Last night called Crown &Anchor again, ask for quantum specialist (yes there is one). His name is Rodrick. Very nice young man. He informs me that I do not have any res. whatsoever .( I thought I had at least 5 dinner res. and 4 nights ent.). Then he tells me I have to start over. TRYING to keep calm. We complete the ent. part. OK let's go to DD. Got 2 nights and computer would not allow him to enter any more, they were down for 2 hrs., can you call back. Of course I can I have nothing else to do with my life but to spend hours & hours trying to get something to eat for 12 days. I called him back and he asked me to call in 20 min. Because he was on his break. Call back. The computers were down and will not be up again Sat. Morning. I am not kidding you, I could not believe it.

I still kept my cool, because he was such a nice young man and of course it's not his fault. He will be calling me on Mon. That's only 6 days to our cruise. I'm sure we will be visiting the Windjammer quite often, because I know that I will not be standing in long lines, as people on CC have said they have done.

    Stay tuned.

I agree, it has not been easy but seems to be getting better. We have a of nice people on our roll-call if you want to join in, here's the link:

  11. We were on the December 1st sailing. I don't know if they have fixed the problems yet but the RCI app often indicated we did not have dinner reservations when we did. The first night it happened to us we discovered that the host at the desk of the restaurant could still see our reservation on the computer screen there even though the app indicated we had no reservation.

I finally just added all of our reservations to my phone calendar to keep from going back to our room to check times on the paper printout I had made before leaving home. I would still suggest printing out all your reservations, just in case an issue arises while at sea.

We clearly are in the minority but enjoyed a laid back day in Martinique. We did a self-guided walking tour of the food market, cathedral, library, etc and enjoyed some great drink and crepes at a little kiosk bordering the park. We saw a group of dancers in the main square and also some dancers at the port area. The port was very convenient to the ferries and to town (much better than where NCL was docked on the other side of the fort).

You should come on over to our roll-call for this sailing:

  12. I would do Freedom over Navigator. Visiting Labadee is part of the reason, but the bigger reason is that Freedom leaves from Florida so you don't have to deal with either the Texas rules on alcohol, gaming, and taxes; or the loop current and iffy weather in the Gulf of Mexico.

Also, it is not so easy to get to the port in TX. It will probably cost close to $100 each way from airport to the port of Galveston.

  13. Typically, how long do they give you to use the voucher? I think I might take your advice and wait until NCL is offering free upgrades because DH is claustrophobic and won't stay in a inside or ocean view cabin. Assuming my voucher is for an inside cabin, I could likely find a deal where there upgrading at least from a inside to ocean view and then only pay the upgrade from ocean view to balcony. Am I understanding this correctly…

Also.. My voucher is coming from a Mt Airy Casino and CAS is offering me a 20% for our play.. Do you think CAS they will apply the 20 % to my Mt. Airy voucher?

    Thanks so much

We received our voucher in 3/14, had to book by 5/8/14 and sail by 3/8/14, so in essence the same deal as Daghis, 2 months to book, 1 year to sail so the new voucher will probably have to be booked by 10/31/14 and sail by 8/31/15.

  14. Do you mind me asking what the port charges and government taxes came to?

I know someone else answered but I will answer to for comparison:

    Category: IA (inside)

    Port fees & Taxes: 319.67/pp (Port fees: 185 + Tax: 134.67)

    Insurance: (secondary not primary) $29/pp

    Grats: 12/pp per day

Complete total: for 2 for 7 days on the Breakaway = $865.24

Booked under a promo that is giving us 1 bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries.

Was told upgrade to Oceanview would be $60-150/pp depending on room and Balcony would be $300/pp

  15. Yes, if it's your first time as a CAS card holder you will start out at the lowest level (Lucky).

However, you should get the drink card because you are on board as a result of a casino offer, and this is a perk extended to you as a result.

If you had simply bought a cruise, boarded, and then signed up for CAS, you would have to make a certain number of points before the casino gave you a free drink card.

WOW, so getting the free drinks, I guess you can call that LUCKY, LOL. Thanks for the info :)
