  1. @flymeaway Thank you so much for coming back to report on your experience.  We will be doing an Antarctica cruise next January and when I contacted the private tour company, they said I could bring my travelscoot to Volunteer Point.  Sorry you didn't get to bring yours with you.

Can you tell me other excursions you were able to do with your travelscoot on your cruise?  I have asked one company that does Magdelena Island cruises, and she said no scooters allowed on the island.

I had to look it up.  Looks like the only stop left in Liverpool this year will be on the Island Princess. And Liverpool will be on some of the British Isles itineraries next year.  It's a fabulous port that we immensely enjoyed so I'm happy that Princess isn't outright abandoning Liverpool like they have Guernsey.

Like you I just shake my head about those who fail to be back onboard on time.  Liverpool is such a walkable port stop that you'd have to just not paying attention to miss the ship.  I'd be with you with the popcorn.  We've toasted people with our wine while on our balcony as the ship has pulled away leaving frantic idiots running and screaming to try to get the ship to come back.

Regal will be in Liverpool on Oct 6 this year

@Barbara B Thanks for doing this LVIE from thread and I look forward to following along and sailing the British Isles in September on the Regal.  If you would please, will you check with dining room staff to see which versions of the winemakers dinners they are offering on the Regal.  There is a new "Caymus family of wines" version offered in the Crown Grill starting this summer and I am curious to know if they are still doing the $45 Silverado wines Winemakers version in the Concerto dining rom.

    Have a great cruise!

If you get a chance when in the dining room, could you ask about this please?

  5. Enjoying following along on your post!  Could you please see if you can find out about the Winemakers dinner?  Is it available on the Regal and if so is it the $40 dinner in the dining room inside the "wine cellar" or is it the new $140 Caymus wine dinner in the Crown Grill?  or is both available?

Thanks in advance if you can find out for us.

  6. Do all the rooms have the 3rd berth?  Not all cabins do so that is the first thing you need to check.  If it does, no problem, tell guest services and they will set the medallion to open the right cabin.  If you are not on the ship yet, have the names changed around on who is in what cabin would be simplest.

  7. There is no need to worry about the plug adaptor harming your unit.  I have used a C-Pap on cruises for over 10 years and the most convenient place IS the plug in behind/under the bed.  I think you are talking about the 28 days on the Grand next March (we are on it with you) and any adaptor you get will work.  Main thing is looking at the plug for AC input 100-240 V 50-60 Hz and you are safe.  You will find the same wording on call phone chargers as they will work everywhere too with the adaptors.

I got this same notice for both the Sept 29 10 day Ireland and Scotland AND the Oct 9, 2023 TA.  I booked direct with Princess, so they sent me the email that sounds like the same one they send to travel agents....I am not one of those 🙂

  9. I had my 2nd negative test this morning and was also released.  Today was day 10 for husband and since he tested still positive on day 5 was released today too.  Glad to hear G got out.  Like him, my medallion would not open my cabin so had to get a new one made.  I asked at front desk about and restrictions for me now and they said none, I was free to return to dining room.  I have had a call about FCC being applied to our next cruise and receipt being emailed and told we would get a letter from medical tonight about testing for the next 90 days.

Well thank goodness Princess gave YOU a choice.  I am so glad you are together.  I could not imagine being apart.

Stay strong Joy.  I have not met you as I have Jeanne and G; however, I feel all you are going through and our thoughts and prayers are with you,

We were apart for a while.  Husband tested positive first and taken to quarantine and I had to stay in original cabin while I was to test daily for 5 days.  Day 4 I tested positive and joined him in quarantine cabin.

  11. This is day 5 of my quarantine was just tested my medical.  I asked how many in isolation and she did not know.  I asked her how many people she was testing this morning and she said 10.  I came here the same day they were testing all B2B pax, so hopefully today and tomorrow G will test out.

  12. OMG.... the connecting cabins even shock me and I am there!  Hope the person next door got medical treatment that it sounds he needed and hopefully not passed away but they would only know if someone reported the smell after a few days.

We have friends still on the cruise if you would like them to pick up a BP cuff at WalMart tomorrow and drop by the front desk to send to him.  I am sure they wouldn't mind

  13. @wallyj really strange that there is different policies on differect ships.  After they told me the spouse usually ends up with covid too it is probably a good policy to have them eat in their room IF THEY are going to see that both people gets food easily and timely.  Although they told me I could go get food to bring back to my room it just was not practical with my scooter.  Much easier to order.  As i was instructed one step futher and that was no drinking while out.....mask had to remain on any time I was outside my room.  Even on same ship I believe OP was told she could sip and cover when out.

  14. So sorry to hear about G testing positive.  It was day 4 when I did, but was put in same room with husband.  I use a scooter so I had to depend on room service to bring all my meal before being moved.  After a few days my tolerance ran thin waiting for room service to answer so I will advise you to call guest services and tell them you need help placing you order.  They would not give me their "magic phone #" but within seconds I had someone on the line asking for my order.  I hope G is getting the courtesy we are now of 3 calls a day to place orders and a followup within 5 minutes of delivery to make sure it arrive and was right and what time we want our next call.  We have had a couple misses that were quickly remedied....how do you get a carafe of cold coffee????

Hubby's day 5 test was positive yesterday so he remains until day 10 and then released with no testing which will be my day 6 for possible release through testing just in time for Hilo.

Always hard to know what decision to make and wish you both the best.

I cancelled my 4/11 cruise on Ruby this morning. The idea that a B2B passenger has been out and about for 4 days before testing positive has me worried. (Through no fault of her own-not placing blame here at all!)  I got a great deal on the cruise and live close to the port, but this wasn't the trip of a lifetime, so I can skip it, even if I'm out the money. (We'll see what happens when I trigger the insurance for cancel for any reason). I will be interested to see what happens when they get back from Hawaii. I'd much rather be an observer at this point than a participant. Loosening the mask policy and allowing self service at the buffet isn't going to help matters. Time will tell. I wish all of you safe travels and hope those who came down with it recover quickly.

I am the one who got to "run loose" for 4 days before testing positive.  I took my instructions very seriously and only left my cabin 1 time during those 4 days other than to report to medical each morning for testing.  I was told to wear my KN95 any time I was outside my cabin and not to remove it.  Any food or beverages I had during that time was consumed in my cabin.  I can about guarantee you no one caught covid from me.

Joy_K- If your husband’s Covid test on day five and day six come out negative does he get to move back into your original cabin and then you’ll do the same testing procedure? Well I really hope you get to enjoy some of your Hawaii cruise.

We will find out tomorrow, day 5 for him.  If he is still positive then he stays with me until his day 10 but 2 negatives - tomorrow and next day-  we think he will move back IF he wants to get off in Hawaii.  My day 6 is last port day so I will miss most if not all of the ports.

Do you have a balcony ?  Just curious if you can get some fresh air?  Stay positive and take care

Yes, we are in a balcony.  From the middle elevators all the way to the front of the ship is the quarantine area on Aloha deck.  I think only time anyone gets an inside is if they run out of balconies.  Pretty sure no suites on Aloha nor minisuites, so balconies are it until they fill all those like the did on last day of last cruise with the 120 cases.
