    Fantastic replies...

I've lived in Florida 30 years so of course I understand about the inconsistency and fluid nature of weather but just doing my best to see if there are strong trends.

So would Bermuda to Portugal be a Northern route or midway...seems a touch Northern but it's my first so I know nothing.

Please keep those experiences and tips coming.

I'm on the same sailing as you and I'm hoping to get some inside info from my son who's graduating from FSU with a degree in meteorology in May 😂.   I was the one who told him about the windy app from reading about it on here.  He has other resources and models I don't even want to try to understand.  Windy is great for wave heights and very easy to use.

I still find the most reliable source of weather information is the weather rock...if it's wet it's raining..etc..

That’s what the captains club desk told me on her first cruise last year as well. I was kind of surprised to see her number and status but thought maybe I was misremembering what I was told.

I wonder if there’s been a recent policy change.

    Maybe??

At least that would be inline with what Royal Caribbean already does... and since they are both owned by the same company ... but then again... that would make sense 😂.

See if her status shows up on her room key.   In the past kids didn't show any status on their card.  However, first sailing after 18 (and getting captain's club number) the status showed up.  My kids were supper excited when their cards actually showed Elite like their mom and dad's.

    Welcome aboard!

I will definitely hold onto her seapass cards.

She was quite excited that for this cruise, when I pulled up our booking and xpress pass, she’s been assigned a captains club number and her xpress pass shows her as classic status.

She says she now has a “personal goal” to become the youngest zenith in Celebrity Cruises history.  I told her if that’s what she’s striving for, she’d better find herself a job, immediately.

That's interesting.  I thought you didn't get a captain's club # until you were 18.   At 18 they called and got a captain's club #  then got credit for all the cruises they had taken.  At least that's how it worked a year ago.  DD is 19 now.

  5. Just also wanted to thank you for the wonderful and detailed review of your experience on the Connie.

I definitely enjoyed her the first time I sailed on her, it was when the drink package was first introduced and had such a great time.  Now I'm really looking forward to boarding in April for her eastbound TA.  Fifteen nights!!  Woohoo!

  6. Do they still offer the turkey burger at the mast grill?   I've enjoyed those for years and had it on the Equinox in March.   You had to ask for it and usually they would cook it to order... on the Equinox they had some cooked and would "heat" it up on the grill.  On the other ships I usually had to wait about 10 minutes for it to be cooked.  Had to wait the 10 minutes when ordering on the Summit last December.

On Explorer now, back to back with the previous cruise.  The staffing issue is definitely apparent and the food has been sub-par.  It is a real shame because the staff who are here are overworked and tired.  For the first time ever I had a bartender snap at me when I requested something.  They are completely out of Pinot Noir and very low on bourbon!  One bartender said that a new supply of bourbon was loaded on board but is still in storage because they lack workers to unload it. There are no mushrooms so no mushroom soup.  The onion soup has had no onions.  The litany goes on and on.  Add to that 2100 first time cruisers and you have a lot of people lined up at Guest Relations questioning everything.  So I hope they get a lot of new hires and get them trained quickly!

Thank you we are on the explorer just 10 days from now... hoping to have a better experience.

  8. The upgrade fairy does still exist!!

On a march equinox cruise I bid for an upgrade to a balcony from our interior room (we were on deck 8 not in a quarantine zone).  Bid got denied 50 hrs from sail away.☹️☹️☹️

Got to check in at the pier and was told our room had been changed....to what?  We were upgraded to a deck 8 midship balcony!!! For free!!!

    Thank you celebrity!

  9. The inside room on the infinity is definitely laid out much differently than princess.  Showers are much bigger IMHO, rectangular rather than round.   Princess inside rooms have the huge closet but not much in the way of seating except the desk chair and beds.  Infinity has a small couch and the desk chair... however the closet is much smaller.  I'd say drawer space is about the same.. maybe a little more on princess.    We tend to sail in inside rooms and have sailed on the infinity twice in an inside and would do it again.
