So I am back, and yes we went to Antigua. Great island no complaints. If I could suggest one place to go, it would be Valley Church beach. 2 bars, a restaurant and absolutely crystal clear water.
-
Well when we were about to get on the ship yesterday everyone was given a letter stating that we are going to Antigua and it was also confirmed by our CD. Ill be sure to let everyone know how it goes.
-
We are in Puerto Rico getting ready to get on the Liberty tomorrow, and received an email from Carnival saying that due to a bow thruster bring down and working being done at the port area Saint Kitts will be skipped. Luckily we won't be hitting up Dominica, we are going to Antigua.
Pretty sure we lucked out on that deal.

Leaving on Friday, 4th time on the liberty and second time from San Juan.
-
I haven't heard anything new and we leave in a week. Probably just something temporary
-
Yup. Doesn't matter if your 9 months pregnant, 90 years old or what. Everyone of legal drinking age in the room has to buy it.
-
Leave for San juan for the Liberty in 9
-
Every adult of drinking age in the cabin has to buy it
-
Actually, I probably will have it in one of my shorts pockets now that you mention it

Hi. I am helping my cousin plan her wedding. We have a dilemma: she has invited 30+ people who will be joining the couple on the NCL Escape for the wedding. She wants a beach wedding, but the budget is EXTREMELY limited. (The 3k NCL wants is too much.) I was thinking it might be a bit more economical and practical to have the wedding on the ship while in the St. Thomas port. That way she still gets the awesome background, but no one has to worry about the transportation. And then they could go to a beach location with their photographer and take pics after the fact with the dress on, etc.
But I'm no wedding planner. I could really use advice. Does anyone have experience with a destination harborside wedding vs a beach wedding? Do you have any cost-saving tips for having it on the beach?
We looked at a few planners in St. Thomas (Fantasia, especially) but reading between the lines it seems like they're going to nickel and dime the kid. Ex: $5 per person for plates, napkins, and forks. $2 per person for glasses. $15 per chair for a folding chair that's decorated... Lots of fine print to read with them, and it seems like they're going to pay a whole lot for not very much. I don't want my cousin to be disappointed OR her parents to be too far in debt, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
We had our wedding in St Thomas last year and it's not really nickel and diming, it's just how they do it. We paid $30 or so pp for dinner, $20 or so for chairs at the beach so on and so on. $3k is a tight budget but they are going to either have to sacrifice something or open the budget to get what they want.

So the poster is going to actually put in 8 oz of soda so she can drink soda while husband is drinking a beer. So the husband will buy a beer and not get the wife a soda?
Of course, the flask will get warm very quickly only being 8 oz which is slightly more than a 1/2 can of soda.
I'm sorry, but it's not soda. It's hard to carry out a mouthwash bottle filled with rum, so you transfer it from the mouthwash bottle that was smuggled on, to the flask because really, you would get strange looks if you were chugging from a mouthwash bottle.
Soda? where did she say soda? And yes the husband (this guy) will actually be getting unopened beer from the bar using the cheers package.

This was also my second time doing this itinerary... I feel like we are so spoiled from seeing these islands! I am so un-motivated to try a different itinerary because I am obsessed with the Southern Caribbean haha I found that it was interesting to repeat it on a different ship this time around so at least something was new and different haha
I agree. When we did it last year we had the valor and we had just gotten off the Liberty the day prior for our wedding in saint Thomas. So it will be nice to get back to a great itinerary on an even better ship.

Doing this cruise again in about 3 weeks. Did it the first time last year for my my honeymoon. Very port intense but a great cruise.
-
Trust me. When she says she doesn't drink beer, she doesn't drink beer. She's picky about what likes so why not take a flask and put something in it that you like. "Bad batch" is a bad word to use for what she drinks.

We will be sailing Liberty in late April and the only thing that concerns me about your post is the bed bugs! If my DW reads this post she will get all skeeved out!
Been on the liberty 3 times with a forth coming up and never had bed bugs
-
So out of that I got it was rocky, you didn't like the CD and the stairs didn't have rubber which made it uncomfortable... Whatever floats your boat I guess.
-
how do you get unopened beers?? I would like to take some off the ship for beach days but they always insist on opening them when you get them!
We just got to know a bartender. She was in the casino bar and we alway got drinks from her. So we just asked and she did it.
-
Technically we sail in a month, but we leave in 28 days.

If anybody is going to make a comment regarding my alcohol intake on a cruise keep it to yourself because I am going to ignore any sarcastic comments...now to answer the OP question. We are three adults, father in law my other half and myself.
Cruise days we generally drink an average of 13 cocktails
Port days we generally drink an average of 13 cocktails we seem to come back more thirsty lol
That's my kind of day

So we are still debating the cheers program. For those of you who've had cheers, what did a typical Sea day look like? Port day?
Well for our wedding cruise we bought it. For me a normal sea day was a Bloody Mary or 2 with breakfast, go up to lido have a margarita or mojito, then start with some beers, with dinner have another beer. Later on hit either the casino (for a Long Island) or the alchemy bar for a watermelon mojito or 2. Given all that, I only hit 15 drinks one time actually drinking, but we also used it to our advantage to grab unopened beers and angry orchard ciders for my wife for some beach days.

We did zip lining in Jamaica and St Lucia. Both were fun, both were in the forest going from tree to tree, and both had an added surprise in them. My wife is more the zip lining person than I am, but I still had fun.
-
I would just call carnival at that point. You can just tell them exactly what your looking for and what you want/don't want and they will help you with the connecting rooms.
-
Its mainly just luck. My wife and I have been on 7 cruises and had 2 upsell calls.

My wife and I have been on the liberty 4 times and it is by far our favorite ship. We have never had any issues, food has always been good, crew has been great. You can't control the weather, it has most of the 2.0 upgrades, lay out of the ship is easy. Overall it's a great ship.
