On Excel class ships (Mardi Gras, Celebration, Jubilee), coves are on deck 5, and there is another passenger deck below you. We loved our cove balcony on the Mardi Gras, and I would book it again without a second thought.

The Excel Class ships (Mardi Gras, Celebration, Jubilee) don't have self-service laundry rooms. They do have ironing rooms though. They are on several decks. I used the one on deck 5 when I was on the Mardi Gras back in February.
