  1. Hi All......

Spins...thanks for the good wishes....hope you have fun too following us!

Terry....all l can remember is a very small canal transit with literal jungle on either side....quite amazing for a 19 year old to witness at the time and l wish l had taken pictures....what l do recall is that the ship broke down in Panama for three days during which time orders from the captain forbade us female crew from going ashore....and then asking the pax to choose between visiting LA or Acapulco as we couldn't do both....Acapulco won.....quite wonderful again in those days....l have no wish now to re-visit.

Chilli luncheon beckons.....happy day to all....

  2. Jeffers.....have you got wind? [emoji6]

Pics of the Panama Canal Transit don't look familiar at all to me compared to when l went through in 1971...for then it was all jungle...no open spaces and lots of birds and other wildlife....rather sad .....

Quiet weekend.....just two weeks until l sail.....so lots to do....

    Happy Sunday All

  3. Interesting views on this one, to date haven't used SS air....usually because l like to fly into the departure port a day or two earlier to ensure l get there....and as Duct says SS do tend to fly one via the longest route and one can only assume that this is the cheaper option for them?

The question here is this.....if you decide to go with the flow and just let SS book you on their choice of flight then presumably you will be taken care of should arrangements not go accordingly to plan...as in delays etc.....

If however one decides to select their preferred flight route to suit the individual will SS ensure that the same rules and conditions still apply, or will one be out on a limb......

    Just a thought.....

  4. Hi Coolers [emoji4]

M...Calgary pics look fabulous, so pleased you are enjoying your time there.

Weather up here in North Wales is very mixed but not too cold yet.

Spins....not long now until your crossing....less time for me so my cases are now open on the bed with the cruise rail up full of stuff to be finally sorted..!

Not making any plans for going ashore as I've been to all of the ports before but l will hopefully find a good tapas bar en route and have the excitement of having my kids on board for my birthday in Cartagena....[emoji16]

Great foodie pics as usual.....still lazy cooking here with simple sausage, mash and BBQ beans for lunch today....

    Happy Day All

  5. Hello Coolers.....

Spins, so pleased you've appeared to have missed the worst of the storm......I saw on the news that it may be circling back, just hope it doesn't.

JP.....hope your travels are safe and wishing you and Chris a super vacation.

A quiet weekend beckons here as the weather turns cooler and the nights draw in.....comfort food on the menu and sofa days with four paws.

    Happy Day All

  6. Just thinking the same Jeff with regards to Spins.....sounded like they are staying put with them battening down....but whatever happens I too pray for their safety.....looks like the storm will hit Fla in the morning.....

Saw the 'Trump' prog just now also......thankfully I'll be away when it all happens......not sure of l really wish to know the result!

  7. Good Day All..........

Delish looking pasty that Jeffers......broccoli isn't my favourite vegetable, peas l do like but only the way l cook them which is with bicarbonate and a touch of sugar....can't bear them underdone....!

Had a business lunch out today, more talking than eating but the fresh fish and chips were very good.....even though l was initially determined to have the house steak and kidney suet pudding...!!

Autumn seems to have arrived here very quickly with some beautiful colours on show.....

I see that most of the Florida ports are closed so hope Spins will be safe...I have friends currently on the road between Cape Cod and South Carolina which is worrying.....

  8. Hello All..........loving all the photos, Mysty, my favourite time of year is autumn.

Jeff, Vienna looks so beautiful, l have yet to visit but Christmas time sounds so magical.

Have been quite busy lately with house projects, lunching out and catching up with old friends......and soon it will be time to start packing for the crossing next month....[emoji1]

    Happy evening

  9. Good Day Coolers........

Tis turning rather cool here in North Wales and also very windy.....time to get my walking hats and wellies out!!

Just been browsing through the 2018 voyages.....quite a lot of changes with nothing right now catching my eye....although I'm sure l will find something eventually...[emoji6]

Interesting US election debate....didn't watch it all so have no particular views...problems here are just as bad with Corbyn et al.....so it's a Fred Carnos on both side of the pond!

Shots.....do hope your mare recovers.....l do miss having horses but not the work that goes along with it all.....!

    Happy Day......

  10. Hello Coolers......great to be catching up with all the news and scrummy food pics....seems a few of us are holiday planning, just five weeks for me so the countdown is on!

Have been busy sorting my second bedroom out and also enjoying some rare evenings out...today is a wet and dreary day so I'm being a real couch potato!

Thinking hot dogs for lunch with some fried chicken and BBQ sauce....autumn comfort food!

  11. Good Day Coolers...........trying to catch up as usual! It's been a busy week!

Sorry to hear about your ex boss Jeffers...he sounds like a sterling fellow.

Lazy food here all week as its been very hot so living on jacket potatoes with various fillings....quick and easy!

  12. Agree with Doug re booking....never had a problem either.

I would recommend requesting a curry if you are into that kind of food as its always excellent.

  13. Spins...your report was a delight.......just eight weeks to go here before my cosseting can be enjoyed so I'm busy doing the autumn deep clean....my style of course...[emoji6]

JP......London still sounds good....depends on how much time you have....I'm hoping to head down for New Year having been invited to party with some dear old friends.....on New Years Day l must add as I'm not into the big night itself these days.....!

Still warm here both day and night.......a good storm would be welcome to clear the air......

  14. Good Day Coolers.....[emoji4]

Mouth watering food JP.........Jeffers....l love Jools Holland but he does seem to go ott at times.....my absolute favourite is Katie Webster for that kind of boogie........think I'm pretty good also at name that tune...and artist....but only if l liked the song......and right now l can't come up with who sang " It Takes Two"......but for an obscure one Jeff....do you remember a piano instrumental called " On The Rebound" ......we should have a music quiz...[emoji12]

Funny sort of day here...extremely warm but very dull and dreary......picked up the most gorgeous freshly baked corned beef pasty along with a vanilla slice this morning from our local bakery......we have some lovely village shops.....

    Happy Day.......

  15. Jeffers......you are quite right .....a lot of us really didn't appreciate at the time....tis only when such bands become legends that we take a second look.

I think this also about Motown.....and they struggled the hardest but still gave us some magic music over the years.

Notwithstanding that l love Big Band...Swing...Boogie Woogie.....Rock and Roll......and most importantly the Blues....such haunting music that l often listen to......and also have many memories of enjoying live...Memphis being one great experience....

  16. Good Day Coolers.......

Some rather lovely photos to view, food, seaside and also Terry's football [emoji6]

Jeffers....we still have those little Choo Choo trains along with Punch & Judy up here on the prom in LLandudno......sadly all the beach huts are long gone but the steam trains still run along the North Wales coast near to Portmeiron where if you remember the cult series The Prisoner was filmed many moons ago!

At the risk of being shot at dawn l have to say l really wasn't into either the Carpenters or Abba....[emoji15] I suppose living so close to Liverpool pulled me toward the Mersey Sound.....l did like the Beach Boys though!!

I read that today Freddy Mercury would have turned 70....such an iconic band but again not one l was really into......l do still however like Brian May very much and think he's grown old quite gracefully......

I feel Autumn already kicking in here with chilly mornings and the evenings closing in rapidly.......pup and l have enjoyed our usual river walk this morning and today's luncheon is quite simply Sausage, egg and chips....it will soon be time for casseroles....

    Happy Day All

  17. Lovely Santorini pics....never been but maybe one day...drooling over your food Jeffers....have been lazy today and threw a Tesco finest chilli in the oven....

Mysty......TA talk can be sensitive as we all have different expectations l guess.......my agent is brilliant, family run business who knows her stuff down to the last detail. I think the most important thing is that you have confidence in them. Perks in any form are an extra......I don't see the point in having a comp bottle in my suite when one is on an all inclusive cruise so much prefer the discounts and obc which are usually offered.....and that of course can vary greatly.

No need to apologise for asking.....it's the cooler!!
