if you have stayed in the royal suite on rci Splendour of the seas can you post some photos or tell me about the layout... the diagram on the website is difficult to figure out.. I've booked it for my son , his wife and myself.. I just want to make sure there is enough privacy.. thanks

when we went the water was crystal clear and we saw lots of fish and coral... it was well worth it

it isn't always about the money.... how about principle.. if you owned a business and potential customers came into your business and told people to go 'across the street' to another business I don't think you would be happy.... Cruise Critic has advertisers who pay to advertise on here and we have a responsibility to them ....

no need to debate or argue but yes, Cruise Critic is a business and a lot of hard working people work very hard to make it the very best it can be..and we appreciate all our members support and participation on the boards

Why would this be any different from allowing Facebook "roll call" pages? :confused:

it will be different in the effect that we will have web pages for you to use.. the situation was that some folks were going over to fb and others didn't want to use fb and it was creating a split... that will no longer be necessary to divide up the roll call...the purpose of the roll call boards is to meet others on the same cruise, maybe share shore excursions, plan some onboard activities , make new friends, etc... some of you may recall what started out as a happy group ended up being a divided group.... and after having several requests for this,,the suits listened and have worked diligently on developing the web pages... we will still be active on fb and welcome our members who like to visit us on fb but you will be able to do all of your tour planning, slot pulls, fun stuff,, all on CC without ever leaving 'home' I will be glad to answer any questions and if I don't know the answers I will get them from those that do

simple... we will be providing something right here on CC for the conveinence of our members....we have had instances on the roll calls where members were using FB to organize on board activities, shore excursions, etc. and some members did not want to use FB which caused a split and rifts and a lot of unhealthy atmosphere on the roll call boards...... hopefully this will alleviate that... reading the roll call boards the reason fb was being used for organizing on board activities was because we did not offer a place to accommodate it... personally as a board moderator I received many emails from members asking why they couldn't do it on CC....

there will soon be dedicated web pages for each roll call where you can keep track of planned activities, shore excursions, etc etc... coming soon to Cruise Critic :) as soon as I receive more news I will pass it on... that's all the info I have now... from looking thru the peekhole at the construction site :)

you can start with checking the travel agencies that advertise on Cruise Critic ;)

recently received a phone call from a PC from Royal caribbean who gave me his direct line ... I questioned him as to why if I booked directly with RCI I would not receive the perks, such as prepaid grats, dinner for 2 , spa credit, etc, etc...... I told him if he could match those I would book direct..

no can do.... so I posed the question to him... or more of a statement.. "you are telling me that it is a better deal pricewise for me to book thru a travel agent?"... his reply was "yes"

another scenerio... diamonds get vouchers.. diamond plus get the diamond lounge and the CL lounge for suite and pinnacle....that should thin things out a bit...

personally, I enjoy the private lounges vs. the bars.. feels, more clubby and I enjoy getting to know people that you see each nite...

Hi guys, unlucky enough to have booked our honeymoon cruise on the feb 23rd sailing :(

Already have a a fair amount of it paid of, and have flights booked and paid for into FL around the cruise times!

no beach snorkeling in Nassau.. the good snorkeling is an excursion from a boat...

the Deadman's reef suggestion in Freeport is ok for the family being together and snorkeling from the beach

are you goint o any other ports?.. st. Thomas has good snorkeling from the beach as Roatan does also and there is chancanaab park in cozumel

recently on a rci cruise I asked my waiter which he preferred.. the cash envelopes or the prepaid tips... he and a few other waiters said they preferred the prepaid as it goes directly into their accounts... and there seemed to be less skippingout of tips with people who didn't show up on envelope nite....he also said anything he gets on top of the mandatory tip he can keep so it motivates them to give as best service as they can in hopes of receiving even more than the mandatory tip

Also thinking of doing the Parasailing and Jetskiing tour in Cocoa Cay.

am i right that 10264 is bed by the closet?...I have a guarantee ocean balc. and the location is great but I'm not sure because its showing the next cabin as adjoining with a js so not sure that the formula still works?

doesn't really matter to me, i think I prefer the bed by the closet even tho its a little awkward but i do prefer the couch closer to the balcony... thanks oceanboy for your help on the boards :)

I prefer the bed by the balcony for easy access to the closet.. however the deal was so good for the allure on a balc. guarantee that I'll be happy with whatever I get :)
