Good thinking. I Always keep one by my bedside when traveling. -
We did an Amazon cruise a few years ago on Regent. The CD told everyone on the first day that they’ll either love it or hate it. I liked it ( not loved) my wife wasn’t keen on it at all. I thought that it was an amazing region, and was glad that we went. Now the tributaries they tell me is the real Amazon adventure. I’ll leave that for others

We haven’t stayed in that particular suite, but we stayed i. 1115 & 1129 and loved it up there. It was like being on a private ship. The location by the Observation bar was great,as was the deck seating area outside.

Just wondering what the opinions of Colonel Wes are on this. Although, I don’t read every thread, I haven’t seen him on here for awhile. Anyone know where he is, or how he’s doing.

Well said, Ronrick !

The Silver Nova is powered by LNG, thus no black soot! Definitely very pleasant without it. Sorry to hear about the rain, hopefully it’s finished for the remainder of the cruise. Enjoy the rest of your cruise, and thanks for the updates.

Is that by choice, or have you been banished ? I can remember being a “ little “ rowdy in 1970. -

Since we departed the cruise in Rome,we continue to enjoy your objective and informative posts. Most of our experiences were similar to yours. We had exceptionally good weather while in Rome, and got home late last night. This was an exceptionally nice and memorable cruise. We booked the westbound TA on Allura for next year. The cruise consultant mentioned that many on board, also have booked it. The food was exceptional, and DW didn’t get swollen ankles from too much salt in the preparation. I mention this because on our last 3 Silversea cruises it’s been a problem. The food IMO is much better on Oceania. Hope that you continue to have a great cruise ! We’re jealous! 😂 -
Left a $1000 deposit on Vista for a cruise. Received 20,000 AMEX points on platinum card.

Cruise withdrawal is a very tough thing to go through. Still in Rome, but cruise withdrawal has creeped in. -

That pork chop was definitely delicious the other night . I’m not usually a pork chop fan, but that was delicious. -
Am currently on the Oceania Vista on a TA from Miami to Rome. After several SS including the Nova last November, the food is much better on the Oceania. The MDR is speoand can accommodate a large number . Rooms are smaller of course, but service has been quite good. We’ll be back on the SS in March for Capetown to Doha. We still book our cruises by intinerary and pricing, but will be looking more closely at Oceania in the future, especially the R class ships. As beautiful as Vista is,still not used to 1200 on a ship, although it hasn’t overly crowded

You’re definitely a long way from Red Hook Flatbush Flyer. I worked in the Firehouse on Smith & Lorraine St, ( ladder 131) in the early 80’s . Good times with the Happy Hookers -

Well done critiques Hank, and agree 100% . DW, now wishes she had chosen the scallops last night, but we did have the prime rib. The Philly cheesesteak at Waves was a pleasant surprise. Enjoying the cruise, and the sea days. Well, except for the time changes. Definitely worse things in life -

Jack& Deb, although Jack made it clear in 5 easy pieces how he wanted his whole wheat toast, I wasn’t referring to that. In the Last Detail, a meek & timid Randy Quaid wanted the cheese on his cheeseburger melted. It doesn’t come melted and Quaid says, it’s okay. Jack says it isn’t ok, sends and back, and says, “ just as easy to have it the way you want it. -

Don’t really see the problem of ordering drinks first, and having the waiter wait to take your order. Politely let the waiter know they you’ll let him know when you’re ready to order. As Jack Nicholson said in a classic old movie, “ The Last Detail” . Just as easy to have it the way you want it. -
Once again, another company looking to issue credit cards. As an earlier poster has posted, stick to the business you’re in, and do it better

No table cloths in Embers last night. 😂. However, it was all good

I can’t speak for Hank or anyone else. However, our last Oceania cruise was on the Riviera’s inaugural season, so it’s been awhile. However, since Covid we’ve had 3 cruises on SB & 3 on SS. So far since we’ve boarded the Vista in Wednesday, the food on Oceania in the MDR is far better! We’ve yet to eat in the specialty restaurants yet. The regular Veranda is smaller as we knew beforehand, but comfortable and functional. Haven’t had any noise issues yet either. All in all, it’s been a very nice cruise so far, with a pleasant and efficient crew. We’re very happy with our choice to sail Oceania again. Also, the Vista is simply beautiful!- 754 replies

Silver Nova, any issues with a connecting door cabin?
fdnycruiser replied to C-sea's topic in Silversea
We were in 7035 with connecting door, and no noise problem. -
Just so you know Harters, the Regent Grandeur also has reports of sound issues. Sailed on the Explorer and Mariner, and had good cruises. However, we recently cancelled a TA on the Grandeur in August, and not because of the noise. My final payment was coming due,and the total cost with 1 way business class was 25 K ! I saw that a TA on the Vista came in at half the price! We booked the Vista instead, and for a savings of 13 K, I’ll take noise. Plus the itinerary on the Vista was better too ! We leave on Wednesday.
